Running to Stop the Traffik - A run against modern-day slavery
I’ll be participating in the 24-hour race organised by Running to Stop the Traffik in Hong Kong this year! The 24 Hour Race is a student-organised relay style endurance event, where students race around the 3.2km track on Victoria Peak for 24 hours. I’ll be running for my school, Singapore International School Hong Kong. I’m really passionate about this cause because it is a basic human right for people to be in control of their own bodies and labour. Although most people believe slavery is a thing of the past, it still occurs today, with majority of the victims being my age and even younger. Their bodies are exploited daily and it’s something that Running to Stop the Traffik is trying to stop. So far, since the first race back in 2010, we have engaged more than 1,500,000 young people in the fight against modern-day slavery, and have raised more than US$300,000 for grassroots anti-slavery charities in the process. The most amazing thing about this is that it’s a youth movement!
I invite you to donate and support my training, the race, as well as the young children trapped in modern slavery, the fastest growing international crime in the world. You can sponsor me through this link https://www.justgiving.com/Victoria-Ng. Thank you so much!
