The “ Phone ”

The phone given by the administration of the Academy; it largely resembles a fancy folding smartphone, and has a number of apps preloaded onto it:

The forum app, so the academy and town residents can interact with one another without the need for the chatroom app.

The chatroom app, which has the global chats already loaded and joined for each individual member.

And for both the forum and chatrooms, there is an anonymous function that people can enable and disable at will.

About Réimse Reoite : The Server

Réimse Reoite as a server is:

20+ muns, 18+ muses

Discord based! For people who have never roleplayed on discord before, both mods and members will absolutely aim to help wherever we can. Don't be afraid to ask questions!

Tupper based! We will use Tupperbox for most interactions — however, we won't force it on people that prefer using alternate discord accounts for their roleplaying.

Open for Pluralkit usage! We ask that only systems use Pluralkit — and that everyone avoids using Pluralkit for roleplay.

Relaxed! We understand that real life can be pretty taxing, and we hope that our activity check reflects that. While opting to have an activity check in the first place was difficult, we recognize that without a reason to stay active / clean out the server every so often, it can get a bit stuffy. ♡

Utilizing both forums and threads. Like most roleplays, we have our general global chats. However, we also have forums for town- and academy-forum posting, as well as social media posting.

Multi-fandom, multi-media. This means we don't accept just one fandom, and we don't accept just one media source. Do you want to bring in your favorite book, podcast, or animated series characters? Do it! We look forward to seeing anyone and everyone.

Accepting of Original Characters (OCs). If I had a nickel for every time someone's asked us if we plan on allowing oc's, I'd have four. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened so many times considering how much I absolutely adore oc's.

We're still putting our server together, so this is all the information we can share on the server for now. Feel free to send questions in through the ask box, though! And feel free to take a quick peek through our notion if you're interested in looking through the rule page!

Character Abilities + The Leveling System.

Character Abilities

All character abilities, upon arrival to Réimse Reoite, are locked away. Any attempt to use the abilities result in a sharp pain in your head, and... nothing happening, of course.

This isn't permanent, though. There are instances where powers are given back to the dead : tournaments, attacks from the beasts outside of Malgrave. Attacks from angels or demons. While temporary, during these times, all powers are restored to their full strength.

Otherwise, members will have to earn the powers back for their characters, via the leveling system.

Leveling System

The leveling system is how characters get their abilities back. However, it goes hand-in-hand with the point system, which also allows people to purchase other things, such as:

dorm exchanges (to change a roommate, or go to a solo dorm)

pets from the living world

items from the living world

& more!

The leveling system itself is akin to most video games; each ability starts at level 1, which is "unable to be used". The max level a skill can be is 10, which is full strength. In between, as people level their abilities, they progressively get stronger, with tiny (silly) modifications based on the whims of the mod that's handling the leveling process at the time.

For example, at level 5, Katsuki Bakugou's explosions function at 50% strength, but they also look like pink glitter explosions rather than normal explosions. Little things that don't take away the strength, but make it something else for people to look at!

About : Réimse Reoite

The Afterlife.

The afterlife. This is where souls go to live after death. There's no discrimination based on how you've acted in life; even the most wicked individuals come here to exist. Eventually, one can choose to move on to heaven or hell, but... why would you want to?

Death has very little to say here; once you've died, you cannot die again. You can, however, shatter your physical shell hard enough for your soul to leak out. Once this happens, your soul is free to roam, unable to touch or be touched, while your body is repaired.

Réimse Reoite is expansive; it goes far beyond Malgrave, into twisting woods full of souls that belong nowhere. Souls that have turned into untameable beasts that only seek to hunt, to eat. But within these woods are three doors: one to hell, one to heaven, and one back to the living world.

While those in Malgrave don't know what happens beyond the door to life, it's an infrequent occurrence for the doors to heaven and hell to open.

Sometimes, angels and devils come through to speak with the townsfolk of Malgrave, and to the headmasters at Calden. Even more infrequent, are the times when they bring their younger souls with them. Young angels, young devils, all to meet the people that may, one day, join their ranks. Of course, in the case of the young angels, there also seems to be a bit of mischief that they enjoy causing...

You've died. Out of everything you know, that's the thing that stands out the most: you're dead. Maybe you don't know exactly how or why, and that's okay! Dying is a traumatic experience, but we'll help you get through it as best as we can, alright?

Once you've settled enough to be properly introduced, you will be given a tour — so you can meet the three key locations in your new (after)life.

Calden Academy — Sorted into three houses, and taught by people who have lived in Réimse Reoite the longest, the Academy is a school for... anyone. Everyone. But the main draw isn't it's academics, unsurprisingly. It's the promise that the headmasters give: the promise of life. "Play along", they say, with their voices dripping with sincerity. "Play along, and you'll get another shot at living. Isn't that what anyone who dies wants? But life has to be earned, so play well ; we can't make any promises if you don't give it your all!" Luckily, these games aren't locked to just the students; the staff may participate, too.

Malgrave — The town in which Calden Academy is settled. It's a standard town, if you don't mind all the old eyes that smile at you when you pass by their shops. The elders (as in, the elder souls) are glad to be here, glad to see the town and academy brimming with life. It's frequent that the town and academy collaborate for events; balls, festivals, carnivals. It's all part of regular life in the town of Malgrave.

Once your tour has completed, you're released to the Academy; the headmasters reach out immediately, and you are given a choice: will you stay within academy grounds, as a teacher or a student, and play the games to gain your life back? Or will you opt out of the games, and life your new life in Réimse Reoite? They're kind, and promise that you can change your mind later, regardless of your decision.

If you choose to stay within the academy, you're sorted into a house. Staff or student, this house determines which tower your room resides in, the first people you meet... You may have your preference, but ultimately, the headmasters make the decision themselves. “ We've got a flow, one that's been maintained for hundreds of years. ” One of them reach out to pat your hand. “ So don't worry. We know exactly where to place you. ”

Should you choose the alternative, to live in Malgrave in peace, that's fine, too! You're released to the town center and directed to the welcoming building. There, you are given a considerable amount of starting gravestones (the currency in Réimse Reoite, small gold coins in the shape of headstones), and a list of jobs that are currently hiring. You're also given election dates — it seems that the current mayor is looking to retire!

Regardless of what you choose, where you go, who you choose to be, there's one thing for certain: we're glad to have you here, and look forward to seeing what sort of journey you embark on while in Réimse Reoite.
