Big Shop Update and Sale!

I have done an overhaul of the chibi plushie sticker sheets to make them easier to remove from the backing card without scissors. To celebrate, I have also added two new sticker sheets featuring a total of 18 small stickers/magnets featuring the Daedric Princes, and a new design featuring The Adoring Fan with sparkly eyes!

Meet Fenrik the Nervous ❄

Fenrik is a Nord who has been perpetually anxious ever since he fell into draugr-infested barrow as a small child. Although he is susceptible to panic attacks and perhaps the occasional hallucination, the incident left him determined to learn how to defend himself. Fenrik is a skilled battle-axe wielder, and secretly knows a thing or two about magic, though he would rather never set foot in a dungeon again.

Meet Bethia Bramfield 🐎

Bethia is my Daggerfall character. She is gentle and amiable free spirit. Her mistrust of power hungry people, bought about by a troubled childhood, resulted in her being very charitable towards marginalised folk. Her tendency to looks out for others above her own personal gain sometimes masks her lack of confidence in her own talents.

Oblivion (PSP, Climax Studios - Cancelled)

Originally marketed as a demake, the PSP game evolved into a spinoff set during the Oblivion Crisis in the Iliac Bay. Players would fight through the prisons of Rhalta and liberate Anticlere and Glenpoint from the Mythic Dawn.

Despite remaining on shop fronts until 2008, the game was never released with no official statement for the cancellation.

Meet Theodyn Mistyhollow ⚔

This is my Arena character – Theodyn Mistyhollow. Even though he is a nimble acrobat, he prefers to fight with a longsword and is also unable to cast a single spell. His greatest asset is his sheer strength. Theodyn is a daydreamer and is sometimes little clumsy, but is a loyal and ever-determined ally.

Meet Eradil ✨

Eradil is a Psijic Mage who uses teleportation to travel across time and between realms. Though his experiments typically send him across Mundus and its outer realms, he has been known to appear further afield in all manner of strange worlds. Although he is a little absentminded and eccentric, Eradil believes in using his abilities to bring about good change.

Meet Brinthir Fernseed 🍄

This is my ESO main - Brinthir Fernseed, the Warden. He is a travelling bard turned adventurer, and although he can be a little meek and naïve, he has a heart of gold, which makes him a great healer. Brinthir is married to Erika the Stout, a Nord nightblade he met after leaving Valenwood.

Reblogging this now that screenshots have leaked and this thing is starting to look not only like it's not just a rumour, but like my worst case scenario.

This is really bad....

All I wanted was a version of the original game that ran better on modern PCs/Consoles. Not...whatever this cursed thing is... 😣

That outsourced Oblivion remaster/remake that leaked a few years back is circulating the rumour mill again, and I've got to say… I'm really nervous.

Oblvion is one of my all time favourite games, quirks and all. I love the way the world looks, exaggerated 2006 bloom lighting and all. The NPCs with their smiley, doughy faces are beautiful (and you guys are just mean!) I'm worried that updating the game to 2024 graphical sensibilities will strip the game of a lot of it's original charm, especially if they really do port the entire thing to Unreal.

I don't want to see some weird different, potentially soulless version of the game being the one that everyone plays and associates with Oblivion going forward. That thought kind of makes my heart sink a little.

At the same time, lets face it, Oblivion as it is does not run well on modern PCs. It's actually getting more and more unstable over time in ways that the Unofficial Patch can't compensate for. These days, I can barely walk around the overworld without the game crashing to Windows every ten minutes, or the terrain in the Gold Coast eating itself. I really want to a way of playing the game stably without having to reluctantly resort to the old console release.

I could also see some quality of life improvements from a well made remaster. Things like the game being less fussy about when you can change your weapons, and of course the removal of the A-Bomb glitch. Fixing up some of the unfinished and broken side quests would be neat too, as well as sneaking in some cut concepts like different body types. The Construction Kit is also barely usable in it's current state, but I doubt an engine port made by a different developer would even open that can of worms.

I think what I really want is an equivilent to OpenMW for Oblivion. Something made with care and attention by fans of the game rather than a sloppy Unreal Engine port made for a quick buck. The Oblivion fanbase still seems kind of small compared to Morrowind and Skyrim, so maybe I can only dream right now…
