Hey so I was severely sleep deprived when I read the latest update of Stubborn Love so forgive me if my interpretation of the chapter is misguided... but if you're preparing to mimic Sarah's death in the show with Ellie getting shot (but surviving) then I'm gonna need a heads up for some preliminary therapy please and thank you 🫶🏻🙏🏻

your sleep deprived interpretation is not entirely misguided, Joel is already afraid that Ellie's been shot (which is why he thinks 'not again' right at the end of the chapter) and there will be a moment in the reunion scene where he thinks she has but after a wee bit of stress he realizes she hasn't, please pre-therapize yourself accordingly!

I saw that as well and I will not lie, a piece of me is very devastated that she won't be coming back. I missed her SO MUCH in the last few episodes of s1, I truly cannot imagine an entire shift/season without her BUT I have been living with one foot in the Rollins tag since s1 ended anyway so at least we'll always have paris (ao3)

That being said I am still very much excited for more and I'm sure they are working up another banger season for us come January!

do fic readers know that their comments actually influence the course of the story sometimes? i don't mean in a "you need to write it this way because i say so 😡" type of comment, i mean when people are asking questions or really engaging with the plot and the themes in the comments they sometimes bring up things that i didn't even think of, or dig into parts of the story that i've overlooked, or get really interested/fixated on something i was going to just kind of glance over--and it has me going 'oh wait that's actually really interesting, that's a good point' and fully adding or tweaking or changing things about the story going forward. i'm literally adding an entire additional chapter to something right now because someone's comment had me like "oh i didn't dig into that as much as i could have." you have impact!
