Ren Serizawa/Godzilla vs Kong

Although Ren Serizawa had a quiet presence in the film, I felt that he had a remarkable impact. The scene where he silently watches Godzilla destroying the Pensacola facility from the heliport especially stood out to me—his gaze really captured the complex, swirling emotions he felt toward Godzilla.

Honestly, it feels like such a waste for his story to end in just that one film. I really hope he returns in a sequel, and next time, I’d love to see him piloting Mechagodzilla in a real showdown against Godzilla!

There’s something incredibly moving about “connecting” with Mechagodzilla—about bringing it to life and becoming the mecha itself. The moment my consciousness merges with the giant, I can feel everything: the world through mechanical eyes, the weight of those massive limbs, even the subtle sway of its tail. It all becomes mine. I wish I could truly experience what that feels like.

Happy Father’s Day.

He couldn’t become what his father once loved.

Maybe that’s why he chose, of his own will, to stand before “him”.

He believed that only by surpassing the one who had been loved could he finally reach his father.

Somewhere deep down, he was hoping that even after everything had been broken, something between them might still be restored.
