I was thinking about how Knives went absolutely off the rails the moment Any of his hair went dark, while Vash had half dark and just took it in stride.

And then I was thinking about the placement of the dark streaks.

For Knives, the first section to darken was the streak just by his hairline.

For Vash.... that was the last part to darken.

Not only that, but the placement is mirrored. As in, looking in the mirror and seeing that your brother lost what you retain/retains what you lost.

What Knives lost first... was what Vash held onto until the end.
