Announcement

Hi everyone! I’m very sorry for the silence on our part-- this announcement should have been made sooner, and I will take the fault for it not getting done until now.

Sadly, ROD will not to happening anymore. The three of us have decided that for the time being, we’re just too busy to mod it, and we wanted this to be a project that we could put as much time into as possible to give everyone a positive experience! With our work schedules clashing, we had little time to discuss group matters, and since school is right around the corner it doesn’t seem like things will change anytime soon.

Thank you all for your support and interest in ROD, and we hope that one day, when life is a little less hectic, that we can give everyone a fun experience and bring our ideas to life.

As of right now, we do not have a roster drop date! One of the mods will be away this week, but we’re aiming to have roster out around when they return! We will make a post on when roster release is ahead of time!

Time’s Up!

And as the clock strikes 12, the application period for Reverie of Dissension is officially closed! Thank you all for sending in so many great apps for us to read! Now that everything is in, we’ll be taking a few days to read everything and get a roster sorted out. Thanks again for your continued interest! (P.S. Don’t see your app on the submitted list yet? Don’t worry, we probably got it! We’ll officially update the list in the morning.)

Is it okay to ask how many muns applied as opposed to characters?

As of right now, there have been a total of 27 muns that have sent in applications!

Is a character considered a criminal character if they were never arrested for the crime/got away with it?

Very much so. We define ‘criminal character’ as a character that has committed a crime in any way, ranging from petty theft (in a frequent manner, rly), to straight up murder. You can have your character get away with crime, but that does classify them, at least to us, as a criminal character-- which doesn’t really affect our judgement on the application all that much, to be frank.

Since this is a different kind of game as opposed to dr rp will you be doing more/less than six chapters or is that still in the works?

one of the other mods will probably edit this if i’m remembering incorrectly, but we’re going to try and stick with the 6 chapter format! we want the game to run its course, but not go on for too long so that it can remain just as engaging!

Announcement!

Due to our schedules, and the fact that we have not been responsive within the last few days concerning questions, we’ve decided to allow people to ask for extensions, should people need them. These extensions will last until July 17th at 11:59 pm PST. 

It would be unfair on everyone if we fully closed applications without being available to answer questions for the days leading up to the deadline, so if you’re in a pinch on time because of that, please feel free to ask a moderator or send an ask on the blog for an extension! 

The application period will still officially close July 14th at 11:59 pm PST!

Will the mastermind/traitor likely to change or mend their motives to fit with a particular plot?

It’s very possible, yes, but it doesn’t mean that they’ll have to change their motives. We do have a frame of a plot for Reverie, if it helps.

Are the roles each chapter randomized? Or do the mods determine what roles each character gets? Do some characters get to volunteer for roles like 'Sacrifice'?

Like in the last ask, roles are randomized each chapter. Because there’s no need to dedicate time to murder planning, there’s really not much of a need for volunteers. If you have an idea for something you’d like to happen, we’d love to hear it, though!

Would the Sacrifice role each chapter be a volunteer or would you be randomizing someone to get it? Since it's a little bit like the Victim role in Danganronpa.

It’s randomized each chapter! Don’t worry, it doesn’t immediately spell a death sentence- there may be opportunities to switch roles.

in a few places on the blog (like the app) the word "students" is specifically used rather than just saying participants, is there a reason for that?

It’s because I’m too used to writing students... it should be participants, honestly. Don’t mind it too much!
