Study because it makes you smarter. Every time you dive into a new topic, you're not just memorizing facts; you're building a sharper, more agile mind. The breadth of your knowledge will never be a hindrance; it will only ever propel you further in life.
Study because it opens doors. Knowledge is your ticket to new opportunities. Whether it's landing your dream job, travelling the world, or just being able to hold your own in any conversation, the more you know, the further you can go.
Study because it builds discipline. Setting aside time to study teaches you valuable skills like time management and self-discipline. These habits will serve you well in all areas of life, long after you’ve closed the textbooks.
Study because you want to improve yourself. Self-improvement isn't just about hitting the gym or eating right. It's about feeding your mind and growing as a person. Each study session is a step towards a better, more informed you.
Study because it’s a privilege. Not everyone has the opportunity to learn. Embrace the privilege of education and make the most of it. Honor those who fought for the right to study by making the most of your own education.

Org chem - dipoles
I managed to do about 5 hrs of study this weekend including an essay.
I’m struggling with my doubts about getting into med and am really getting enticed by UX/product design again despite the glaringly obvious terrible tech job market right now - Someone take my brain away from me. Is it ok to do both? LOL

Want to learn something new in 2022??
Absolute beginner adult ballet series (fabulous beginning teacher)
40 piano lessons for beginners (some of the best explanations for piano I’ve ever seen)
Excellent basic crochet video series
Basic knitting (probably the best how to knit video out there)
Pre-Free Figure Skate Levels A-D guides and practice activities (each video builds up with exercises to the actual moves!)
How to draw character faces video (very funny, surprisingly instructive?)
Another drawing character faces video
Literally my favorite art pose hack
Tutorial of how to make a whole ass Stardew Valley esque farming game in Gamemaker Studios 2??
Introduction to flying small aircrafts
French/Dutch/Fishtail braiding
Playing the guitar for beginners (well paced and excellent instructor)
Playing the violin for beginners (really good practical tips mixed in)
Color theory in digital art (not of the children’s hospital variety)
Retake classes you hated but now there’s zero stakes:
Calculus 1 (full semester class)
Learn basic statistics (free textbook)
Introduction to college physics (free textbook)
Introduction to accounting (free textbook)
Learn a language:
Ancient Greek
Latin
Spanish
German
Japanese (grammar guide) (for dummies)
French
Russian (pretty good cyrillic guide!)

hey guys! i'm currently out of town, and my deadline for completing some learning for my internship training is fast approaching (aka 24/06/24) and till now, i have completed only a video pertaining to it (which is, looking at the list of things i have to do, really just nothing lol; but still at the same time, one less thing so lets go!)
Tumblr media
here's the broadstrokes of the things i need to learn:
learn the basics of machine learning
refresh python basics (w3 schools)
which now, doesn't seem like much, until you look at the subsections at the material i've been told to use
(i wanna scream)
Tumblr media
So here's my plan for today:
(even tho most of the day is already over, but we're not going to think about that now)
machine learning tutorial
applications of machine learning
life cycle of machine learning
ai vs machine learning and
how to get datasets
and if time permits, i'll see if i can do some python.
alright. let's do this!
(pics from pinterest, all credits go to whoever they belong to)

⭐ 17.06.2024 // I DID IT!! I DID IT GUYS!!! I STUDIED 10 HOURSSSSS!!!!
I'm tired but especially extremely motivated by the fact that I was able to achieve that much. Like, a few years ago I would never have thought that it would be possible for me to do it EVER. It says so much about my recovery journey and it's awesome. Like I'm able for the first time in YEARS to manage studying a lot of hours, doing a minimum of self care, answering people's texts, planning events for later AND be able to function like a human (so not be overly tired by it). It means a lot for me. I still have progress to make in some domains tho, who doesn't, but it's still amazing
(And honestly Tumblr has something to do with it, I met amazing mutuals here and maybe the "do it scared, do it bad, do it tired" helped me in my journey after all ahah)
PS : my cat didn't want to sleep in my room today so I don't have any pictures of her yet :(( (but she killed a mouse today, ig she had other priorities)

How I Take Lecture Notes
First, I check to see if the professor has posted a PowerPoint and copy the information on the slides into my notebook. I try to take only the minimal amount of notes and format it as an outline, so that when I go to class all I need to do is add new things to that outline. Sometimes professors will say things that aren’t directly in the book, or clarify those concepts, or answer students’ questions. This way, I have prepared myself for class, and I can easily solidify concepts before the exam.
If professors don’t post PowerPoints, or only post parts of them to incentivize students to actually go to class, then I still make an outline, but I abbreviate as much as possible while they are lecturing. I try to keep up with what they are saying as opposed to just copying down the slides word for word. This is especially useful for those classes in which professors do not allow their students to record lectures under any circumstances.
I never take anything for granted - I never assume that just because something is obvious, common knowledge, or I feel isn’t directly relevant to my education and future, I don’t need to write it down. I always do. You never want to put yourself in that position of thinking “I’ll just remember this” or “I don’t need it” because chances are, you probably won’t remember it come when you’re taking the exam. Plus, you might actually need it - if only for that class you’re taking.
Once I’ve written down all the relevant notes, I go back to make sure I highlight all the bullet points, lists, and key terms. For example, if there is an article or case study we need to accompany the chapter in question, I make sure to highlight those connections to class concepts so that I don’t forget about them come time for the exam.
And definitely don’t take notes on a laptop. Handwritten notes are the way to go.
Hope this post was helpful! Share your note taking tips in the comments! :)

HOW TO TAKE NOTES FROM A TEXTBOOK
MISTAKES WHEN TAKING NOTES
WRITING EVERYTHING DOWN
An important part of note taking is narrowing down the information. Think of the textbook as a fire hose – if you try to drink from it, it will push you down to the ground.
COPYING DIRECTLY FROM THE BOOK
IGNORING THE BOOK’S CUES
When taking notes in class, teachers often give obvious verbal or physical cues that students should write down a piece of information. Your textbook isn’t speaking to you, but it has its own cues that it gives. You just have to understand those cues.
Textbooks are organized with a series of headings and subheadings that make note taking straight-forward. The size and color of those headings are cues to the reader that a topic is more or less important. The bigger the heading, the more important the topic. The text will also put words in bold or italics – those are often vocabulary terms.
HOW TO TAKE NOTES FROM A TEXTBOOK THE RIGHT WAY
SKIM THE CHAPTER FOR HEADING, SUBHEADINGS, AND TERMS IN BOLD.
Read the introduction and conclusion – they can help you figure out which topics are the most important and how the information fits together.
MAKE AN OUTLINE
Use just the headings and subheadings to create an outline, mindmap, or Cornell notes. Leave extra space so you can write in your notes later.
Start reading from the beginning. Read each section and fill in your outline when you finish that section. In other words, don’t read the entire chapter and then go back to take notes. Flipping back and forth among the pages wastes time.
After reading the section, close the book and write down notes from memory! Stretching your brain like this means you are more likely to remember the information on the test.
Then open the book back up and check your notes. Fix any mistakes and add any missing information.
Be sure to add people, places, or terms that are in bold or italics– the text’s authors are telling you this is important information.
Great – you’ve read the entire chapter and taken notes. However, you’re not done! These notes, like class notes, will become powerful study tools with just a few tweaks.
Start highlighting using a color code key.
Annotate your notes (write in the margins) with review questions, connections to other classes, or questions you have for the teacher.
Add small drawings or doodles to your notes that help explain the information.
Write a short summary at the end. Write 2-4 sentences that discuss the “big idea” you can take away from these notes.
