i cant believe that there's still gamergate STANK on games that women enjoy. NASTY misogyny residue. stardew valley is in fact a video game. animal crossing is also a video game. so are otome games and dating sims and twee little cozy games. sometimes a bitch doesnt wanna play bloodborne that shit's hard

shoutout to slow growers, late bloomers, people whose plans got derailed by circumstances beyond their control or their own choices, people who never had a plan to begin with, people who have had to start over when theyre too old to feel like theyre supposed to be where they are, people who cant pretend theyre built for the environment theyre in, and everyone who's not living the life they thought they would. im proud of you for making it this far and i hope you keep going until youre happy ♡

I hate when I open a drawing app and try drawing something and then it looks bad. to solve this issue instead of opening my drawing app I simply lay down, do nothing, and feel a combination of guilt/shame. this is a skill I am much more practiced at

Every time I see Frankenstein discourse, I want to slam my head in a door.
People arguing over what the lesson is— THERE IS NO LESSON. It is not a cautionary tale, it’s simply a story. Mary Shelley did not write Frankenstein because she was worried some wayward college students obsessed with alchemy would rob a graveyard of freshly buried bodies so that they may stitch select body parts into a crude amalgamation of a man in order to cope with their mothers’ deaths. SHE WROTE IT TO TELL A STORY.
This is why y’all are so fussy about “bad” fiction. You are so obsessed with objective morality that you believe every story must be teaching a lesson. And for stories with no lessons, you assign very shitty ones so you can dismiss the work as immoral.
You read of tragedy and insist that, surely, the victim brought it upon themselves because of some moral failure. You read of injustice and insist that, surely, those unaffected are the chosen righteous few. And then you apply this faulty logic to real life and go out of your way to hurt real people.
Not all stories are cautionary tales. When you try to adapt every single story into a cautionary tale, you lose the thread entirely.
