We are the change that we seek." ▪ ▪ I will forever remember the day I voted for Mr. Obama and or the same night I which he won. I remember being and feeling so proud! I was 20 years old and it was the first time I had ever voted. I remember that night so well! He was ahead by so many votes before all the votes had been counted and it became apparent that he was going to win. After he won, my Mom called my Grandpa in Sacramento and my Grandpa was already crying, he was so proud. Then, in January of 09' when he was inaugurated, I was living in LA. I remember staying home to watch him be sworn in then I left to class. When I got on campus.. so many people were walking around with their chests out their heads held high and just as much pride as I had. ▪ Being a father is without question the most rewarding thing I've ever done. I love watching my son grow, I love hearing his vocabulary expand and I love his curiosity. He spends just about his time with me and like all the things I like: Jay-Z, K. Dot, playing and watching basketball and all fruits. I start missing my son every day pretty much as soon as I drop him off at the sitter. Our walks through the neighborhood, our trips to the grocery store and to the park, our daily mantra, our handshake, everything warms my heart every single time. ▪ The Love is real! It's interesting.. before having children I thought I'd never kiss my son on the mouth. Now, I do it hudreds of times a day and I don't even think twice about it. Growing up watching the Wayans Bros. on TV, I saw them kiss each other on the face and on the lips and never ever thought twice about it. My brothers and I never did that, and my Father didn't kiss us on the mouth for the simple fact that it just wasn't common place in our house.
