The Top-10 Receivers in the History of the Tampa

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9 to win Super Bowl LV at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, on February 7, 2021. Tom Brady, in his first season with Tampa Bay, was named Super Bowl MVP after throwing for 201 yards and three touchdowns on 21 of 29 pass attempts. While Brady received much of the adulation for Tampa Bay's success in 2020, he had the benefit of playing with a talented group of receivers, two of which are among the top 10 in franchise history for receiving yards. Mike Evans, who has been with the team since 2014, is Tampa Bay's all-time leader in that category. A 6-foot-5, 231-pound receiver from Galveston, Texas, Evans recorded 1,006 receiving yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns in 2020. The seventh overall pick in the 2014 National Football League (NFL) Draft, Evans surpassed Mark Carrier as the team's all-time leader in receiving yards during the 2018 season. Evans finished the 2020 campaign with 8,266 career receiving yards in 106 regular-season games. He is also the Buccaneers' all-time leader in touchdowns by a wide margin. He had 61 touchdowns after the 2020 season; no other receiver had more than 34. Carrier recorded 5,018 receiving yards through 88 games from 1987 to 1992. A third-round pick in the 1987 NFL Draft, he produced a career-best 1,422 receiving yards with the team during the 1989 season and was named to the Pro Bowl. He later played for the Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns, retiring in 1998 with 8,763 receiving yards and 48 touchdowns in 177 games. Kevin House ranks third all-time in receiving yards among Buccaneers receivers with 4,928 yards in 94 games from 1980 to 1986. Known for his breakaway speed, House was a favorite target of Bucs quarterback Doug Williams during his time with the team. House exceeded 1,000 yards receiving in 1981 and 1984 and scored at least five touchdowns in five of his six full seasons in Tampa Bay. Vincent Jackson (2012-16), Jimmie Giles (1978-86), and Joey Galloway (2004-08) rank fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively. Jackson and Giles exceeded 4,000 receiving yards with the team, while Galloway recorded 3,912 in 66 games. Keyshawn Johnson ranked seventh all-time before the start of the 2021 NFL season. The first overall pick in the 1996 NFL Draft, he registered 3,828 receiving yards in 57 games with the team from 2000 to 2003. Chris Godwin is the other current Buccaneers receiver on the team's all-time top-10 list for receiving yards. At only 25 years old, Godwin is a Pro Bowl receiver who managed 3,540 yards, including a career-best 1,333 in 2019, through his first four seasons with the team. He caught a career-high 77.4 percent of his targets from Brady in 2020. James Wilder and Gerald Carter round out the Buccaneers' top 10. Wilder played 100 games with the team from 1981 to 1989, during which he accumulated 3,492 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. He is the only running back among the franchise's top 10 players for receiving yards. Carter, meanwhile, managed 3,443 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns with Tampa Bay from 1980 to 1987.
