My First Electric Skateboard

About one year ago I started looking for my first electric skateboard. My desire to obtain an electric skateboard was resulting from my passion for snowboarding as a young guy. The thought of sliding down (or up) inclines and bicycle trails that went through the trees, parks, and underpasses was something that sparked my interest.聽
The uses of an electric skateboard appeared endless.
But what options are there? If you are a handy person you could try to build your own electric board. And today there are ready made kits to buy. However, since I don't count myself as one, I started looking around.
First the most popular choice is a board from Boosted. However, the price is a bit steep and not really a great choice for my wallet.
Enter Meepo! One of the most affordable boards today. And I decided to give it a try.
When I order my board from the Meepo site, it was the second generation known as V2.0. This board has double center engines combined with a double VESC (the speed controller), a 4.4Ah 10s battery, charger, divider mount, deck, trucks, wheels, taillight, and a 2.4GHz remote. Moreover, the Meepo board has a top speed of 23 MPH and a range of 11 miles depending upon the incline of the slopes you might ride up.
I started with the beginner mode first 聽and wow, that feeling of being pushed forward by the skateboard itself is something that everybody should give a try. The most extreme speed on beginner mode is around 6 mph, medium is around 15 mph, and expert is topped at 23mph. With beginner mode engaged, I pushed the throttle to full and the board rolled around the parking garage. Six mph is generally twice the ordinary walking speed, so it was a pleasant, delicate prologue to the electric-skateboarding world.
All in all I have to say that the board was a pleasant surprise, and it will be part of my regular work commute from now on.

E-Scooters vs E-Bikes: Which Is The Best Choice For You?

Are you thinking to buy some kind of electric transportation? First let me congratulate you! Today the technology has evolved to the point that there are several options. And in this guide I have made a rundown of the advantages and disadvantages to help you choose between E-bikes or E-scooters.
Let's go!
E-scooters
Based on the manual kick scooter, numerous companies are now offering bikes with a little electric drive. Basic yet proven technologies are making the E-scooter an extremely suitable driving option.
E-scooters are a good decision if you're looking for the following features:
Reasonable cost
Lower weight
Lower maintenance expenses
Only plan to drive in cities
Incredible convenience and storage ability
No license needed thus faster to get started
No requirement for license and registration
And here are a couple of examples when the E-scooter can be a good decision for you:
You鈥檙e living 10-15 kilometers from your work and utilize it for day by day commuting.
You live in a major city, a long way from your work.
A foldable design makes it easy to keep it in your auto and take it out at whatever point you have to utilize it. You can stop your auto on the city edges and drive the rest of the way with your e-scooter.
E-scooters, by and large, are an incredible method to have an essence of the electric versatility way of life without paying excessively. Obviously, there are E-scooters which can cost a lot. However, they for the most part fill some extraordinary need which isn't required by the ordinary riders.
In many nations, including Hong Kong, E-scooter use is for the most part unlicensed and unregulated. That implies you don't have to get a permit to utilize an e-scooter, however you may need to enlist. In many spots, e-scooter detail is additionally directed by specialists to a specific speed.
E-Bikes
Much the same as traditional bicycles, the potential outcomes of electric bikes are endless. Any bike can be changed over into an e-bike. It is possible that you purchase a finished electric bicycle, or you might want to construct your own. Either way, there's a wide choice to look over going from minimalistically foldable bicycles to full suspension trail blazing bicycles.
Electric bicycles are your best option if the following features are imperative for you:
Generally higher cost, particularly with regards to particular street and trail blazing bicycles
Higher weight (from around 15 kg to 30 kg)
More unpredictable designs which mean higher upkeep costs
Depending upon the type, they are appropriate everywhere. Can be utilized as a part of urban areas, long streets, tough dirt road tracks etc.
Larger compared with scooters聽
No requirement for permit but it should be reviewed and endorsed by specialists
Cases when an electric bicycle can be a decent decision for you:
If you鈥檙e consistently driving between your home and work.聽
Long rides on rough terrain. Great quality bicycles from trusted makers can for the most part last about 100 kilometers with one charge.
Much the same as an E-scooter, an electric bike with collapsing configuration can be stuffed in the auto trunk without consuming excessively room and assembled at a later point.
Up and downhill rides in the slopes. You can even ride in places which would be relatively incomprehensible with regular bicycles.
For most e-bikes there are no licenses required, and they can be utilized like general bicycles and go where bikes can go.
The drawback to owning an e-bike in places like Hong Kong is that you do need to get your e-bike assessed and labeled by the government and enroll yourself as an e-bike rider.
This is unfathomably not the same as E-scooters, where you don't need your e-scooter assessed and labeled. However ,you do need to enlist yourself as an E-Scooter rider.
Finally, you should also be aware that there are other electric transportation options like the electric skateboard. I will talk about them in my next article.
