As a community women need really to come together and stop trying to "prove" periods have no mental and emotional impact. Yes we might get emotional or have different mental wellness needs during that time AND SO WHAT. Crazy how its accepted men need to go into their "man cave" and drink a beer in silence daily for mysterious reasons or else they fly off the handle and that's reasonable but many women having a literal neurochemical need for some extra quiet time and rest at some point during month is something we need to play down and ignore to "prove" we're rational and competent humans. lol give me a break

thread under a tweet about the Club Q shooter coming out as nonbinary after the shooting
sums up queer self-id politics very well, its hypocrisy, and the untouchable status it has given predatory men to continue assaulting women and children

“All gen z are gay” no they just think they are. Seriously, I see so many clearly straight people claiming to be either gay or bi (or some made up sexuality to avoid admitting they’re straight) these days.... you can tell they’re straight when they’re clearly homophobic, get angry seeing happy healthy same sex couples and go on a rage when a lesbian says she only likes pussy and will never like dick. These days qu**r isn’t just a slur it’s also a word for straight or a bisexual who hates themself.

Still thinking about how the definition of walkable cities needs to be expanded to cities where you can walk AND not face constant sexual harassment or high threats of violence every two steps as a woman. The audacity of planning to take away the safety of women's private vehicles without addressing that.

Today in “For $1 say woman” / “Want to make surrogacy even worse? Make it queer!” is this ad I got on Instagram:
Are you a healthy birthing individual?
No, because at this moment in time I am not actively engaged in giving birth. Did you mean to ask, are you a healthy woman?
Because let’s be real:
- trans women can’t get pregnant
- most trans men/“genderqueer”/nonbinary individuals who take T or similar drugs shouldn’t
- so you’re left with “queer” (“mostly straight”) women, lesbians, and bisexual women
… who are all, get this, female.
But somehow it’s queerer to ask for a “birthing individual.”

Reminder that this happened in november last year. A trans-identified male in Norway beat his partner to death, reportedly with a baseball bat, because he wanted to prevent said partner from breaking up with him.
This is textbook male violence.

The fact that in this culture, it is normal (almost expected) for pubescent boys to watch and pleasure themselves to videos of women being beaten up, raped, sodomised, even urinated on, usually by force, is horrific.
The fact that in this culture, it is normal (almost expected) for elderly men to watch and pleasure themselves to teenagers roleplaying as daughters, babysitters, cheerleaders, schoolgirls, is horrific.
Do not normalise pornography. It’s not normal. It’s not healthy.

Cut a chrysalis open, and you will find a rotting caterpillar. What you will never find is that mythical creature, half caterpillar, half butterfly, a fit emblem of the human soul ... No, the process of transformation consists almost entirely of decay.

Hey, remember in Harry Potter how Hermione could climb up the boys’ staircase to their sleeping room but later in the series when Ron and Harry tried to go into the girls’ sleeping room the stairs turned into a slide to prevent them from doing it and it was explained away that “I guess girls can be trusted more than boys”? I think JKR just hates men in general, even the boys in her own story books.
