I'm really worried for all of us. I want us to be as well as possible and for that to be the case we really gotta stay informed:

(resources compiled by sp0receress and agitpropnabsurdity on IG, I just copied em to share here)
best way to protect yourself is to wear a mask (n95 or kn95) wherever possible and do social events outside if you're not gonna mask. though the latter isn't foolproof, I read a case study of a jogger infecting a bunch of people in a park. it can happen.

If you're interested in pollinators, insects, bees, and their survival, you might be interested in what's going on in France around the Duplomb law.
French national assembly voted a law (without debate) reintroducing the use of one previously banned neonicotinoid when all else has failed mainly in beetroot and hazelnut crops โ alternatives exist (mainly targeted treatment instead of preventative treatment).
This neonicotinoid is still studied in its effects on human health (with strong suspicion of adverse neurological effects) but it's devastating on insects. It's the point. Since the ban on neonicotinoids, insect population are rising again in France and that law would set this back.
Anyway, since the no-debate vote, an official petition on the national assembly website has been gaining traction with 1,7 million signatures and counting.
Adding to that: there's a real conversation about food sovereignty to be had โ and outsourcing fertiliser, insecticide use to other countries, countries where low-paid workers are exploited in dangerous conditions. Undocumented workers are working in disastrous conditions in Spain, and more than that, EU money is used to keep would-be asylum seekers in Morroco where they also work in dangerous conditions. (Mind you, France just had a trial for a Champaign vineyard exploiting undocumented workers)

don't say "empathy" when you mean "helping others."

don't say "empathy" when you mean "stand up for people who can't stand up for themselves."
don't say "empathy" when you mean "sense of justice."

Having empathy is morally neutral. Not having empathy is morally neutral. Having high empathy is morally neutral. Having low empathy is morally neutral.
Empathy is not what makes you a good or bad person. Actions do, feeling don't.
