I have this planner with these absolutely ridiculous pages with like “motivational” quotes on them that are just these bullshit things like “Let your heart sing” and “Always believe in your dreams”

and like that’s always struck me as such meaningless bullshit, I’ve always hated those. They’ve never had that element that truly motivates me.

So, I took matters into my own hands and I made my own artsy motivational wallpapers. Enjoy.

The Bifrost’s ready acceptance of the group on Midgard was partially explained by the crew waiting for them when they appeared in Heimdall’s golden wheelhouse. Freyja and Eir stood there, along with Fandral, Hogun, and Volstagg, leading a group of Asgard’s warriors in full armor. 

“Looks like we’ll be trading places!” Fandral announced to those who actually remained conscious, his blue eyes far sharper and for more serious than his tone made him seem. Before he could say more the same power that had brought them to Asgard sucked those going to fight back through to Midgard, bristling with weapons, and Eir and Frejya descended upon the wounded like vultures. 

“Edda. Magnhildr.” Frejya addressed Marina and Elizabet as if she knew the two armor-clad women and began to order them about in Norse, watching with dark intensity as the two women swept over to Steve and carried him out of the room and on down the Bifrost toward the great city itself, the twin who did not have the Captain in her arms herding the other, lesser-wounded of the team along with them. 

All save Loki and Charlotte. 

Eir knelt beside Charlie and began to give her orders as well, telling her exactly what the ancient goddess needed in succinct, accented English. Freyja knelt as well, adding her considerable power to the pool, and using everything given Eir began to knit an unconscious Loki back together again, piece by piece, allowing Charlie to ease the blade slowly out of his body so that they could work without releasing everything all at once. 

The Ringmaster may have rejected Asgard, but in their eyes, he was still its Prince. 

Pulling the long blade from Loki’s body made Charlie a little sick, knowing that blood belonged to the man that she counted as her brother, and how close they had come to losing him. She tried not to think of Steve, broken and James who had remained at the circus as the one in charge, still recovering himself. Thor whom they had left on the field, elsewhere and perhaps only now becoming aware of everything that had transpired…

“Heimdall… Thor and James…” The young woman asked, voice weak with the energy she herself had put in to Loki before the real cavalry had arrived. 

“I will bring them here as soon as it’s safe to do so, don’t you worry, Lady Charlotte.:”

Only when Loki’s wounds were closed did Eir and Freyja stop, both of them pale, their hands bloody. Loki looked even worse, colorless and limp, stretched out on his back in a puddle of his own blood. 

“We must take him to the healing halls,” Eir said quietly. “His body must replenish itself.” With a look at Freyja she shifted and, with the other goddess’ help, lifted the tall god off of the ground like he wasn’t at least a foot taller than she. “Will you come?” She asked Charlie calmly. “Thor will know how to find you.”

For once he hadn’t been trying to be noble. 

Well, not yet, anyway, he’d not even had the chance to assess the situation, he’d just known that there was a situation and that his help was needed, but jumping into any unknown situation blind was always bound to be dangerous. Just…not normally that dangerous, not for the old god, not for the one who actually wore armor.

Green eyes bugged open wide in astonishment as metal pierced first metal, then flesh and bone and the soft organs that lay beneath. Inches before him stood Natasha, a cut across her thigh, dusty and scratched but otherwise unharmed, and behind him, pulling the long blade back out of his body, stood whom Loki assumed was one of their enemy. Long hands reached up to clutch at the blade in a vain attempt to hold it in place–even in such shock Loki knew it needed to stay exactly where it was–and as the god hit his knees magic burst out around him, searing whatever creature stood behind him and sending them bowling back with a howl of pain. 

“Help,” He gasped, and for the first time in a long time fear for his own life began to beat through his veins.
