Hey gang. A lil serious thing on a normally silly fandom blog.

If you’re the praying sort or even just the manifesting/good vibes sending sort, could you send some towards the Vatican? The Pope died this morning and this is the opportunity for a Pope to be elected that allows women, such as myself, to enter into Catholic Holy Orders (the process of becoming a Deacon, Priest, and/or Bishop). This would be massive for me and other women who have this call but have been prevented from doing so thus far.

I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED! I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for but here we go: 1.) She's like the hottest woman ever. Think shoulder length dirty blonde hair that she likes to curl in to frame her face. Piercing blue eyes that seem to pierce straight into your soul. I really love to characterize her like a femme fatale. Quick witted. Incredibly strong. Oh, and she's also 6'2. 2.) Delphine comes from a very wealthy family. She never exactly fit the "perfect daughter" image that her parents wanted. The want for a ditsy but well-behaved daughter to be married off to another wealthy man. No. Far too intellegent. She perceived much as a child. I find that she likely sat on the outside of many meetings that her father would have and learn what she could. Her relationship with her family offically broke when she revealed that she was engaged to Roland Cummings who I headcanon as being African Amercian. They did not approve of the relationship whatsoever. They found it to be improper and argued that it would basicially be societal death for them to allow that marriage to happen. Delphine packed her bags that night and left with Roland <3. She likes the more simple, working life anyway. 3.) Delphine smokes a pipe. She has a small collection of them. It's commonplace that the three of them (Roland, Charlie, and Delphine) will smoke together but their tobacco comes in all different forms. And Delphine has a pipe because she's a cool queen. 4.) She's not on the cases that Roland and Charlie do often but she is absolutely terrifying when she is. You do NOT want her to be your bad cop in an interrogation. The first time that she was was probably an accident but she did so well in comparison to the boys and they start taking her on more jobs. 5.) Delphine only ever wanted one child. I think she wanted to be a mother but not for the reasons of "continuing the family" or "because she was supposed to." But she did want to have one child that she could just pour all her soul into. That's what she does with Sarah. She also makes sure to teach Sarah about being a badass woman too. 6.) [Obligatory Smoky Dreams plug] Delphine wasn't upset when Roland was in love with Charlie as well. What she was upset about was the fact that he felt like he couldn't tell her. She knows him too well to not recognize the love that he has in his eyes when he looks at Charlie. Not to mention that she's also be wrestling with similar feelings. Aaaand the rest is history. 7.) Delphine's hobbies include playing jazz piano, gardening (alongside the family. They take pride in growing some of their own good), painting in the way of incorporating little trinkets and objects that she finds on walks, occasionally making clothes, puzzles of all kinds, reading victorian literature, and I think, oddly enough, that she'd like fishing or boating.

He has hanging beads sewn all over his fit, it almost looks like blood. Kayne however has real blood in his fit ! I've gotten inspo from this post by @ mikeyfrikinway

If the Manager is going to wear anything color red, it has to be at least a little bit pink-ish, less blood-red like Kayne's.

these guys (except Abraham) show up in the first part of the story, playing a large role in exploring Oscar’s relationship with his church and community. I think about them too much oufhh…..

Yapping about them (mainly the old priest guys) under cut because I’m ANNOYING

We’ll get Cynthia and Jamie out of the way first- they play a larger role within the current plot. Cynthia and Jamie are childhood best friends and are leading the new wave of younger folks working within the church. Jamie is new his responsibilities as a priest but is determined to serve the lord and his community. Cynthia is also very hospitable, constantly seen at the soup kitchen. Both of them look up to Oscar as an older brother of sorts, even when he’s at his lowest they never lost faith in him. Oscar has a hard time separating himself from his duty as a man of God, and sometimes fails to realize the impact he has on those around him, good and bad. Yeah idk they’re both very silly, Cynthia is the certified yapper and gossiper while Jamie prefers to sit back and listen. I love them sm….

NOW FOR THE OLD MENNNN OUFFGHH

Abraham and Seymour are very very old friends, having worked together for decades. Abe always joked about how they were inseparable by the will of God, as no matter what they always seemed to end up back together. Seymour is more reserved, calculated, he prefers to stick to the book. Abe was more spontaneous, he liked to go with the heart and gut. Abe took Oscar in when no one else was willing to, even Seymour was skeptical but trusted Abe’s judgment. He helped Oscar find a path that he could channel all that anger and need to help others, he supported him throughout everything and never gave up even when it seemed like everyone else was against them.

Abe was also an exorcist. Seymour thought he was being reckless with his decision to dabble in that practice, but Abe was determined to help those suffering through the horrors beyond this world. He had plans to have Oscar take his place when he passed, and was slowly preparing him on how to deal with such things. However, he was struck with a sudden illness a few years before the events of malevolent, and passed away. This shook up the whole church, but mainly Oscar, starting his downward spiral back into alcoholism and worsening his lingering depression. Seymour didn’t take it well either, but had to put on a brave face since he’s the pastor of st Jean Baptiste. Seymour has grown more protective of Oscar, knowing those two had a father-son relationship of sorts, and wants to be there for him as much as he can. Even if he’s less outwardly empathetic.

Were Seymour and Abe lovers ?? hard to say. They would never say they had any sort of romance going on, obviously, but if they hadn’t chosen this path I think they would’ve moved out of the city and grown old together in the same home.

Are Cynthia and Jamie lovers ??? most definitely. Their families were not keen on interracial relationships, especially Jamie’s, and that was a big factor in him deciding to become a priest. He decided if he couldn’t be with her, he didn’t need to be with anyone. Cynthia felt the same, refusing to date and instead focusing on helping her community with her favorite person.

I'm sorry I didn't see this!! Uni's had me in a chokehold. Anyway-

Oh boy. I’ve got quite a few that @absoluteocellibehavior and I have developed over the year, so buckle in. A lot of these come about as a result of the AU we have, which essentially works out that one way or another all the boys end up in the same apartment in modern-day London. So I’ll break down the “why” into how it came about as well as any canon info and how they operate in the AU!

I’m going to try to keep it brief too, because there are a lot, so if you want more details about any feel free to follow up!!

All of the names listed are either ones the wider Malev community gave to these ships or are the genius brainchild of Ocelli <3

Okay. Here we go!

The most outlandish:

Second Chances - Antoine x Yellow

This started as a joke. I told Ocelli that if Harlan hurt Antoine I was taking him away and shipping him with Yellow, and, well. So now they’re kissing and everything is fine! Really though, I think these two would be a good pair. I’ve already posted a little about this but these two are good together because they both have to figure out what it means to love. Season five Antoine has been used and abused and thinks to love is to serve. Meanwhile, Yellow’s been a god and doesn’t know what it means to be human with someone, and he thinks to love is to use. You’d THINK that means Yellow attaches onto this little peasant boy because he wants that servitude, but Yellow realizes that he doesn’t. He finds Antoine to be gentle, and he wants to return it in kind. It takes practice for the both of them, but they get to learn together with the help of the others.

Devotionals - Antoine x Yellow x Oscar

Another joke, part of this so-called “help.” But again, it comes back to that growth and kindness. Oscar is the only one without active hatred towards Yellow in the beginning, and Yellow clings to that gentleness. Meanwhile, Antoine, the shy, servient kid he is, looks to Oscar as a role model, the perfect balance of kindness and confidence. Their love is pretty soft. 

??? - Antoine x Yellow x Oscar x Charlie 

We still haven’t nailed down a name yet for these guys, but ohhh the brainrot they give me. That’s all. In the AU, this one also comes about as a side quest to the advice that Charlie and Oscar give to Antoine and Yellow in their relationship. Yellow and Charlie are tense in the beginning, but Charlie very slowly (over the course of a year) recognizes the honest changes that Yellow is working to make in his life, and, admittedly, there’s still some old, albeit misguided, feelings from when he was with the KiY (oh yeah, I guess technically also Charlie x KiY, before the King really starts torturing him). One thing leads to another. 

Continuing on the Charlie train! A lot of these are just because Charlie is soooo very pretty. Everyone loves him. Tell me I’m wrong. 

The Main Boys:

Holy Ghosts - Charlie x Oscar

OUGH these two just live in my head rent free. I pay them actually. From their small interactions in season four (like Charlie telling Oscar good work for hitting the Butcher and Oscar’s little “...aye”) to our AU where they end up first at the London apartment and have time to mutually work out where they are, what’s going on, etc., they become so in love. 

Ourthur - John x Arthur x Oscar x Charlie 

Mostly because in general we round-robin these boys. It starts as Charlie x Oscar and John x Arthur, but Oscar still loves Arthur even though he abandoned him, and Charlie loves John, and Arthur finds Charlie attractive, and Oscar thinks John is pretty, and you get the point. 

Dollins - Charlie x Dennis

I’m sorry, if you don’t think these two knew each other before and have been in games of cat and mouse, you’re CRAZY. The chemistry of 40 part 2 is off the charts. 

Tripwire - Oscar x Charlie x Dennis 

Like a lot of these, it comes about through some healthy brainrot. But, unlike some other versions, our Oscar doesn’t hate Dennis. They get together after Charlie and Dennis have been together for a while, so the animosity has faded away. Once he’s not so mad at him, Oscar has to admit that Dennis is attractive. Oscar likes older men *pat pat.*

Smoke & Mirrors - John x Charlie x Dennis 

Listen, John is possessive. Do with that information what you will.

Nell is actually an OC of the AU we have, a 1920s New York mafia member who knows this universe’s Charlie, not the Malev one that gets pulled in later. I left this one on the list because I fell in love with the ship name Ocelli made and everyone deserves to see the sexy Bond reference.
