iris by goo goo dolls really is insane though. I'd give up forever to touch you? you're the closest to heaven I'll ever be? all I can breathe is your life? and I don't want the world to see me cause I don't think they'd understand? when everything's meant to be broken I just want you to know who I am? does anyone hear me.

anyway… if anyone is looking to improve their reading & writing skills, i highly recommend this article by celine nguyen, which analyses the opening paragraphs of good essays to understand how and why they work. focuses on nonfiction but could apply generally i think

korean media resources for complete beginners!! 🇰🇷
70+ hours of made-for-learners content. generally in order of easiest to most difficult. on the CI wiki, & now on lingotrack. here's the unabridged beginners list.
태웅쌤 - Comprehensible Input Korean's [Lv.A0] Complete Zero Beginner Korean Course 9 hours; modeled after Comprehensible Thai's playlist!
Learn Korean in Korean's first playlist 15 hours; grammar with examples, almost always mimes & uses pictures does still exist but did just go paid/private.
KIWI-Korean Input With Images's 101 playlist & basics 4 hours; love this one incredibly cute & useful
C.K.W.M. / Min - shorts/tiktoks
Jun tak Kim <1 hour, new channel!! high quality, hoping they continue to post!
Breeze Korean <1 hour, new channel!!! super high quality for complete beginners.
몰입한국어 Immersion in Korean's Super Beginner/A0-A1 short story playlist ~1 hour; short stories repeated thrice.
Master Vocabulary Korean's vocabulary & verbs playlists 5+ hours; repetitively describes pictures in short videos
시나브로 한국어 - Learn Korean through Immersion <1 hour; just a couple of videos but decent quality.
Comprehensible Korean 3-4 hours; more useful to me after the above, but overall good quality!
Storytime in Korean's A Little to the Left (Beginner Korean) 1-2 hours; calm & pleasant channel
태웅쌤 - Comprehensible Input Korean's TPRS series & and point-and-click video game playthroughs 26 hours; more difficult than his superbeginner playlist but still doable after the above!
한글용사 아이야 70+ hours; kids show, i love my hangul power rangers ❤️💙💛
Muzzy in Gondoland 2 hours; the first six episodes only. technically requires a subscription but offers a free trial, pretty famous for English learning & has a Korean version.

it's been so long since the last time i made posts like this... and i forgot how to do it haha
grateful to the uni for hosting guest lectures on interesting topics, because today i had the opportunity to listen about research on provocative actions in relation to art to draw attention to environmental issues.
did a bit of english, mostly working with vocabulary to move words from passive understanding to active use. i’m almost done with the basic grammar textbook, and i couldn't be happier because i hate these exercises. i learned english just by immersing myself in content that interested me and talking to people, but because of that, i have gaps in my knowledge of basic grammatical structures. and i have no idea what they're even called. so i just needed to go through the entire basic grammar textbook to be sure i know and can use all of it.
went outside to get some fresh air like 5 times a day because the news i'm reading will soon push me into a state of panic. but that must not happen, because i refuse to lose faith in the world over a few old men in presidential chairs :)
📖: network effect by martha wells (i love mb soooooo much!!!)

i sent my research proposal regarding my bachelor's thesis to the professor a week ago, and she still hasn't responded to me. if it were someone else, i would have already reminded them about myself, but this particular professor just leaves messages unread "so as not to forget to reply to them." and i just check every day to see that she still hasn't read or responded. but i need to finalize the topic now because my internship depends on it lol i can't do one without another so it's just a vicious circle of last-year bachelor’s horror

a little re-introduction🦋 who i am? my name is rin, i'm 20 and i'm in my 4rd year of a bachelor's program in marketing. i have no idea where i am going now. i have no long-term goal and a lot depends on the course of the war in my country (living in a near-front place be like). soon i will start working on my bachelor's thesis and i will graduate in the summer. i plan to pass my exams and apply for a master's program. the only motivation i have now is the fear of standing still. and that's okay. it's okay as long as i am going somewhere, even if i don't know where. it's a journey anyway. my academic interests: marketing research & consumer behavior & risk management my other interests: folklore and culture of my country and other countries, flowers and plants, book publishing industry, writing and worldbuilding my hobbies: gardening, knitting, writing and somewhat videography and photography (i have an old camcorder for this) languages i know: ukrainian (native) & english (b2-c1; i have no clue) languages i'm learning/interested in: korean, dutch and turkish random things i love: books (fantasy, magical realism, romance, poetry, short prose), daffodils, thrift stores, paper letters and postcards, peppermint tea, green color, summer evenings, k-dramas, bookstores, sunsets, stars, love stories, digicams, noah kahan's songs, f1
