I doodled this before season 3 came out just by watching some of the promos.... I mean, I don't think it's too far off from the few little scraps of them that we got tbh LOL. Thank you LBH for giving longing eyes whenever you played Inho looking at Gihun 🙏 - Oh Inho, your growing obsession throughout the seasons was fun to watch.

It has been fun and refreshing getting back into drawing/doodling, and I love that it was 457 that got me to do that. This ship and dynamic will have a hold on me for a while despite the show ending, and I am grateful for that 😆

Here is Season 2 /part 2 of the Inhun doodle set I did. I decided to use Gihun for my icon too ahaha.

While watching season 2, it is hard not to notice how much Inho just STARED and watched Gihun throughout the entire season. HE WAS IN LOVE, YOUR HONOR! Poor Gihun didn't have a clue either.

Is it weird to say that season 2 is so comforting compared to everything else. I think a lot of that feeling has to do with what the fandom produced during that time too.

I will post season 3 of the set sometime in the next few days, which I drew before season 3 came out ahaha.

I haven't drawn / digitally lined and colored my doodles in a LONG time, but I drew a bunch of 457 / inho and gihun doodles right before watching season 3.

(sadly haven't had as much inspo doodling after the season 😭 - it bummed me out, and I've been in my "I miss Gihun" feels.)

But I did a set of doodles that sort of tracked 457/Inhun, or at least my interpretation of In-ho's blooming obsession, which I will post soon (as you will see later, my style is not super consistent LOL).

So here we have season 1 - Inho watching through his cameras and drinking expensive whiskey, all while Gihun is smiling so brightly and cutely despite the game's horrors.

It's been nice getting back into digital art though, so thanks 457 (I miss having a tablet though 😅).

WELL THAT WAS AN ENDING...

I have mulled, and will mull some more... but the more I sit with it and my thoughts, and seeing how others are also feeling similarly, the more I'm like what the HECK was that (esp the last 2-3 episodes in particular)??? I'm crashing out like Inho, cause the more I think about it the more disappointed I am (and SAD)?

I've already ranted to some friends (both who have watched and who just support my hyperfixations LOL) - the one's who watched were all like "WTF WAS THAT" before I even even messaged them ( ´ д ` ). Many online have already touched on my own frustrations and issues about the season at this point, but...

My main points of my ????? were: [WARNING: Spoilers Below]

Junho not utilized at all? - Hwang brothers didn't even have a proper confrontation and conversation... like what was the point of him going to find his brother, he kinda did nothing these past 2 seasons, when he was SO important for season 1 - I feel bad for Wi-hajoon, man.

457 meeting/confrontation felt like 2 minutes of nothing... Look, while I love 457, I never asked for canon 457 or even much from them, cause I knew it was not going to happen. Look, I grew up at the peak of queerbaiting promotion, and knew there wasn't going to be ANYTHING coupley or too crazy in the show, but for the amount of promotion the official Squid Game/Netflix accounts were posting for their final showdown and how the two characters are so important to this season - THEY BARELY INTERACTED AND THERE WAS NO "SHOWDOWN" - the weight of their confrontation felt flat (NOT BECAUSE OF THE ACTORS BTW) - it was the narrative/script. - Look, I've read better 457 confrontations in fanfics than what we were given, and I was just really hoping for a further discussion on their perspectives and points, esp. after the build up in season 2, which we sadly didn't get

On that note, Gihun died without even knowing Inho's real name AND he is Junho's brother - just missed opportunity after missed opportunity. For how much we learned about In-ho in season 2, we really didn't get much from/development in his character this season sadly.

Gihun's sacrifice - I 98.5% expected Gihun to make a huge sacrifice, most-likely with his life coming into this last season. I think it wouldn't be as ??? or frustrating if the circumstance of the sacrifice was different, especially because that ending could have definitely been avoided! Whether it was Gihun blowing up the island, sacrificing himself so a group of others could escape, or sacrificing himself so the baby could leave with Junhee (or Hyunju/Geumja), so the 2 could make it out - not just for the baby to be left alone for them to do who knows what with the child. Maybe Gihun trusted Inho enough to take care of the child, but that trust def wasn't earned from the TWO MINUTE conversation. It just did not leave me right. While I was of course rooting for Gihun to survive, I knew he would most-likely die, so it's not about that, it's just how it happened was disappointing - that whole final game was disappointing

The message in its current kairo - While people may say the ending is "realistic," in this time period and all the crap happening in the world with oligarchs and "the people" fighting against big money, I don't think this ending was the right for the time. Like I get not everything gets a happy ending, but I don't think it's the message for this time. They literally killed off the character that represented the hope and empathy of humans and people in the show - and that's it, he dies and the rich people win with absolutely no repercussions.

If you read this far, sorry for the long rambly rant. LOL Maybe I'll write something more coherent or reflective on these feelings... maybe in the next few days after I settled on feelings, or NOT LOL (it is very early in the morning after the binge 😪 - YET I CAN'T SLEEP AFTER THAT). I'm just a bit baffled and empty from that ending.

I don't think this will take away my fixation of the fandom and 457, but I probably will pretend the last few episodes or the season did not exist LOL. I believe in this fandom to write the best fix-it possible. But I do just want to draw Gihun now... also Lee Jung Jae in his sleeveless mesh top (have ya'll seen that video? Baby girl diva shit). I'm watching interviews to cope with w/e I'm feeling rn.

But Gihun, my sweet baby 😞 - you continue to be my fave of the show, and damn I just want to give him a big hug 😭 While I was ready to let him go, and expected some sort of sacrifice, it def was not with this sort of ending... Welp, thanks for reading all this if you did LOL

I would be interested to hear if others felt the same, or how they felt about the ending too. It's like super early in the morning, so I should go to bed, but i'll prob read fanfics to continue to cope. (´ー` )

A Letter to my Squid Game/457 Fixation

While the final season and episodes of Squid Game have already come out, and I am sure many have already finished it, I am writing this not having watched it yet and completely spoiler free.

I just wanted to write a quick reflection before whatever season 3 has in store for me and my half year long hyperfixation (AHHH I'm scared but excited 😱). But in reflection...

I have not had a hyperfixation like this one in years...

One that has pulled me into engaging in fandom discourse, discussions, and memes online

One that has me doodling and drawing characters I like again, and actually trying to color and digital art like I used to before

One that actually brought out my creative side, which I felt I haven't seen in a little under a decade

One that had me reading fanfics on fanfics on fanfics, and actually had me start writing ideas and freewrites for fanfics of my own (I have not posted any of them 😅 - maybe someday)

One that had me watching a bunch of movies I would probably have not gone out of my way to watch usually, but I wanted to because of the actors 😆 [I MET MY GOAL OF WATCHING 10 LEE JUNG JAE MOVIES BEFORE SEASON 3! WAHOO! Lol I shall prob post about all those movies soon]

One that had me sending memes, video edits, and these movies to some friends to drag them into my fixation with me

And one that actually made me finally make a Tumblr account LOL

So in a time that has been so busy, and when the world and society's news have been a bit too much and a bit too stressful at points, I found comfort and creativity in a show (ironically enough) about the hardships of the world and human nature. But this fandom made it (and 457) fun and inviting.

So whatever happens this season, thank you Squid Game and the 457 ship and fandom for making it an encouragingly creative and fandomyly enjoyable past few months 💖

Just some other side thoughts to myself:

Tbh I think the last time I was so hyper-fixations and "involved" in a fandom, and been within a fandom space, along with drawing and writing creatively was the Free fandom funny enough, which is almost like 10 years ago LOL, though I did actually make fan merch, which for Voltron and Yuri on Ice - which was also a long time ago at this point. It's just been so nice to find something that has sparked that creativity again. I've even gotten to think I'll make a sticker sheet or keychain for myself at some point of Gihun and Inho XD

I'm thanking Squid Games now, and hoping I'm not back in 6+ hours to take that back LMAOOO - I'll be back after binging it ✌️

I've seen and stared at this gif 100x times before, but I'm only now noticing just how distinct their size difference is in this particular gif. Like look at their shoulder differences and how Inho is leaning into all of Gihun *chefs kiss*

Like I feel like Gihun can just envelop In-ho in a really full hug or warm embrace (me thinking all the warm 457 thoughts before season 3 drops AHAHAH 😀).

I just can't stop thinking how Kpop Demon Hunters would've been amazing as a 2 season mini series with 13 episodes each..

Like just imagine Gwi-ma and the Saja Boys plotting some type of shit every episode, and the girls always save the day...

Meanwhile, every episode is full of banter between Huntrix and Saja Boys every time they clash during awards, variety shows, interviews, etc...like just imagine Zoey and Mystery Saja being asked to host MAMA together, or Mira being called up on stage along with Romance Saja & Abby to announce a winner of an award..and Rumi and Jinu doing one of those dance collabs special performance..ALL THE WHILE THEY'RE LITERAL ENEMIES &, SECRETLY FIND IT INFURIATING BUT BOTH SIDE ALSO CAN'T HELP BUT ENJOY E/O COMPANY.

Also Jinu always flirting with Rumi amidst their fights in every episode 😏 + Zoey and Mystery Saja having cutest interactions every time, and everyone else has to remind them they're supposed to hate eo 🥹

The other Saja Boys becoming more tame and humane with the more time they spend in the human realm, and they begin questioning their actions, and it slowly begins gnawing them from the inside..
