the best thing about haikyuu is that you expect it to be boring at first, and when you start watching it, your impression doesn't change much because it's your average protagonist trying to be the best in his field. but as you start watching more episodes, you are welcomed by these dynamics of so many characters, each contributing and aiding the protagonist towards success whether it be an enemy or a teammate. and you end up rooting for that orange furball because somewhere you find bits and pieces of yourself in the plethora of characters and they end up becoming your friends even if you don't know them. even if they are not real, but just watching them feels like you are surrounded by good people and it provides you so much comfort. yeah it isn't an anime that will blow your mind in the first 5 minutes, but a strange place that slowly starts feeling like home.

3 A.M.

// Suna Rintarou x GN!Reader, Fluff

"Suna," you poke him softly.

"Suna," you poke him again.

"Suna wake up, I have an important question to ask you,” you gently shove his shoulder.

Stirring awake, your boyfriend grumbles something incoherent and reaches for his phone on the bedside table.

He turns on the phone, and the bright screen flashes the time at him. "It's 3 A.M. in the morning, (Name)," Suna groans.

Sitting up and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, he turns to you, “What is it?”

Feeling somewhat guilty for waking him up, you turn your face away from him and mumble, “Would you still love me if I was a worm?”

A beat of silence passes.

“What?” Suna asks, face scrunching up into a confused expression.

“I said, would you still love me if I was a worm,” you say loudly, turning back to face him.

Suna stares at you. He notes that the silver moonlight is illuminating your gorgeous features, but it is also showing your dead serious face.

Knowing that you are not joking at the moment, Suna gently pulls you into his arms, locking you in his warm embrace.

“Yes, (Name), I would still love you in all your wormliness glory. I would still hug you like this even if you were a worm,” he says.

Even though you are enjoying how protected and safe you feel in his arms, a question is still lingering in your mind.

Trying to pull away to stare him in the eyes, you say, “But you could accidentally squeeze me to death. What if you accidentally used me as bait when you go fishing with your dad? What if I get eaten by a bird when you aren’t around? What if-“

Your voice is muffled by the front of his pyjama shirt as Suna pulls you into a hug again, “I would not accidentally feed you to the fish, and I most definitely would not let a bird get close to you.”

He gives you soft headpats as he adds, “What if I get turned into a worm, huh? I would still love you as a worm, but would you love me back?”

Pulling away slightly, you reply, “Of course I would still love you! We would be the cutest worm couple!”

The two of you sit there in a comfortable silence for a while after your answer, basking in the comfort and warmth that the other offers.

“So can we go back to sleep now?” Suna whispers softly, as if he is afraid of breaking the tranquility of the night.

Nodding, you pull the two of you back under the covers.

You find yourself admiring his pretty face as Suna’s falls back asleep. Listening to his steady heartbeat, you, too, soon drifted off to sleep.
