UNINVITED DREAMS OF A BITTER RESPONSE
UNINVITED DREAMS OF A BITTER RESPONSE
The considerable change of situation in terms of the season getting colder and having shorter days is like experiencing the same seasonal patterns of major dejected episodes during a specific time of a year. The static resonance of the conscious effort to maintain a significantly jovial mood is dampened at every turn when the winter makes its mark. It’s a strange phenomenon that occurs in…

Founded in 1969, the metro has proved to be a proper substitute for any other transport mediums that rules the heart of the city of Kolkata. Being absorbed into a metamorphosed life of chaos this medium is availed by more than 5 lakh to 8 lakh commuters on a daily basis, that makes us realize how we are being engulfed by time and always look for a better and subtle way of shifting our mediums to avail the variety of comfort and hastiness. Crunched in between the sweet fragrance of labor and time chasing working class people of Kolkata, these small compartments can easily give the essence of the city without being physically present in the caged diaphragm of the busy metropolis. The metro is a life saver as well as a representation of all the busy minds and nerves of the city, connecting the various business areas and suburbs of this whole giant breathing above us. We are just in the belly of it.
Life in a M-E-T-R-O! (Part 3) Founded in 1969, the metro has proved to be a proper substitute for any other transport mediums that rules the heart of the city of Kolkata.

I have always seen my Dad with Glasses. And he has been wearing it since he was 13. Even my grandfather wore glasses and even my mom wears it. So when I was in Class 1, I also faced the same problem with my vision. And since then it’s been almost a decade for me, as I crossed the age of 31 in 2019.
I have never felt comfortable, carrying this four eyed mission statement, wherever I went. So I just can’t imagine it wearing for 51 years like my dad did! But I am happy for him, because even he got rid of that burden, some days back. My dad has diabetes, and because of the long fight he put up with this dangerous plague, it slowly started to deteriorate the conditions of his both eyes forming cataract. So he had to operate it down, a few days back after a proper diagnosis was done.
He was happy. But not because of the fact that his operation went successful, but because of the fact, that he has finally got rid of the process of observing something through some medium rather than viewing it through the naked eye.
He is finally free. He is finally happy, or at least he is making an effort not to get angry. And that is something to feel proud of. And I think this is probably one of the times I have seen him without that extra two eye support.

After 51 Years… I have always seen my Dad with Glasses. And he has been wearing it since he was 13.

Unfamiliar Sentiment
On 8th of February, 2019 I lost my grandmother. She was 89 but even at that age she dreamed to live for another 100 years.
I was never so much close with my grandmother because of a lot of family issues. And since 2016, after I quit my job and came back to my hometown, I was always busy travelling for freelance work, and so I was never able to sit at one place, with any of my relatives and have a…

THE UNSUNG HEROES
The inhabitants are mostly Tribal Buddhist people like Drukpas, Sherpa,Tamang and Yalmoos who live in peaceful coexistence with a good number of Hindu families. Nepali is the local language of the residents who reside in this place.
The queen of the hills, or “Darjeeling” as it is known, has always been a place of inspiration for me. Since the year 2006, I have been a frequent visitor to the hills, but then the smile of the residents here, in spite of all the hardships has always raised verities of questions in my mind, that has also made me grow along with the innocence that has been reigning in the blood that that flows…
