As always, we appreciate the opportunity to celebrate the creators and their breathtaking work (for real doing the actual work when canon is mostly…well you know), and we’ve got an incredible amount of talent included from the past year! RULES

To promote variety in nominations, a fic & author may only be nominated for a maximum of 2 categories each. If either is nominated for more than 2 categories, the final categories will be decided based on how many votes each category received, and only the top 2 will be selected.

Likewise, each nominated fic or author may only win 1 award each during the voting round.  Whichever category receives the most votes will win the award—subsequent category wins will go to the runner-up.

All fics must have an initial publish date between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021.

If a fic has been nominated, or won, in any previous Bughead Fanfiction Awards, it will not be eligible for nomination this round.

Nominations through our inboxes or replying to this post will not count. Please use the Google Form only.

Each fic/content creator only needs to be nominated once to continue onto the voting round.

Welcome to the fifth ‘Bughead Secret Santa’ gift exchange. We are now accepting sign ups for our 2021 Secret Santa!

All you need to do is head over to our submit box and send us a message (please note you must be logged in to send these) with:

What are your talents? - Do you make art/edits/gifs/vids or write fanfiction?

We will then reply back with your giftee. We’re aiming for all assignments to be handed out as soon as possible so you get ample time to make your gift.

Get to know your giftee, send them funny Christmas/holiday stories or jokes, query what they would like to see in their gift - do they have any favourite holiday activities/food etc…?  

Remember your messages to your giftee MUST be anonymous as you don’t want to reveal yourself before the big day.

Announcing the Riverdale Fall Promptathon!

Given…everything…going on lately, we here at @riverdalepromptathon think this fandom is in need of a pick-me-up. And not just that, but a pick-me-up that puts our focus back on what really matters: the beautiful fanworks that we’ve created, consumed, and shared as a community.

So this time, we’re not coming up with the prompts - you are! In the spirit of celebrating our own takes on these characters we love, we’re asking you to draw inspiration not from Riverdale canon, but from your favorite fics. Here’s how to participate:

PROMPT: Saturday, October 9 - Saturday, October 16

Authors will share a list of their own stories they’re accepting prompts for, using this post template. Maybe it’s all your fics, maybe it’s only a select few - it’s totally up to you.

Readers will send authors prompts about those stories. Was there a missing moment you wish was included in your favorite AU? Have you always wondered what happened after the happily ever after? This is your chance to prompt it!

Authors can also open up their existing works for other writers and artists to play around with. This one’s totally optional - we know not everyone is comfortable opening up a treasured take on their faves. But we wanted a way for fan artists and new writers who don’t have existing works yet to participate! If you’re open to seeing someone else’s take on your story, we hope you’ll throw it out there. (Anyone opening up their fic for others can list “rules” for interested creators to follow - e.g. nothing E-rated, no ship swapping, etc.)
