The river is running! Niall (our amazing project intern) and Valerie walked the Dreaming Water Houses route yesterday to gauge walking times and confirm installation spots for the Houses.  It's going to be a great walk on Saturday, May 17--just a week and a half away!

Talented Woodworker Sean Raybun putting the finishing touches on five Dreaming Water Houses . These Water Houses, each sponsored by a local Santa Fean family, will be posted alongside the river during the Santa Fe River walk on May the 17th. Sponsor families wanted: 150$ cost to sponsor a Water House. Contact valerie@littleglobe.org for additional info.

Artist Bio: Sean Raybun is a lifelong woodworker operating out of his newly built studio in Northern Española. Alongside his woodworking, Sean also takes on metalworking and computer repair projects. An example and a sketch of the Dreaming Water Houses that will go up along the Santa Fe river (third photo) on May 17th. There will be a walk (open to the public) of the river on the 17th, stopping at each new Dreaming Water House along the way. The Water Houses will be sponsored by different Santa Fean families, and at each new Water House there will be a commemorative ceremony and gathering. Sponsors still wanted by April 30th! 150$ building cost per Water House sponsor.  Email valerie@littleglobe.org to be part of this celebration of the Santa Fe river. Contact us as soon as possible as only a few Water Houses are still available for sponsorship.

March 22, 12:45-3 p.m.: A Walk on the Santa Fe River

WHAT:  Project artists Bobbe Besold, Valerie Martínez and Dominique Mazeaud invite women and children to join us for a 2 hour walk of the river with conversation, art and reflection. Walking the river together reconnects us with land, water, and each other. Wear sturdy shoes, and a hat. Bring snacks and water. WHEN:  Saturday, March 22, 1 -3 pm WHERE: Santa Fe River. Meet at 12:45 pm at the Santa Fe River at the end of Constellation Drive (off Airport Road). Strategic Planning for 2013-2014

Dominique, Bobbe and I have spent some hours, this week and last, collaborating on plans for this next year of Rivers Run Through Us.  Stay tuned for information about the "Dreaming Water Houses" that will line the river next May.

A Month of Rest, Now Plans for Year Three Begin

After taking the month of June off, the Rivers project team is now making plans for year 3 of the project--more community engagement/outreach, more art along the river, more progress toward an innovative, interactive, informative and beautiful Santa Fe "Riversite."  Check here every once in a while, for updates.
