Austrian printmaker Bernd Kroeber (born 1942). "New Years Aquarium" is a color monotype done in 1971 by Austrian printmaker Bernd Kroeber (born 1942). The image measures 11-1/2 x 11-7/8 inches and is pencil signed, dated, titled, and annotated "San Francsico, monotype."
This impression was printed by the artist on an antique-white paper that measures 13-3/8 x 14-1/8 inches. The gallery inventory number for this work is 11031: https://www.annexgalleries.com/inventory/detail/11031/Bernd-Kroeber/New-Years-Aquarium
Using a variety of inked and uninked materials on the matrix, Bernd Kroeber achieves a layered effect in an otherwise flat composition, lending a Primitive feel to this joyous underwater image.
As if we are viewing the scene from the bottom of the ocean ourselves, Krober has made it appear as though we are looking upward toward the sky, with white sunlight filtering through a carnival of fish, kelp, and other plantlife; in the center of the image, the silhouette of a bird is caught in the light.

Shown holding up a mask is speaker, author of “In True Face: A Woman’s Life in the CIA, Unmasked”, and former Director of Disguise for CIA, Ms Jonna Mendez, who is pictured in the Oval Office with President George HW Bush.
While public knowledge [of spycraft] is not widespread (nor is the full extent of its utilization even known by operators) the Disguise program’s existence is no longer considered strictly a confidential matter since it is now 40+ years since its initial usage.
To the right of the photograph is Judge Webster, in the tan jacket is a Linda Kirk, to her side in beige is John Sununu, next to him is FBI deputy Bob Gates, and finally Brent Scowcroft is at left of image.
