What is gastric bypass surgery?

Gastric bypass surgery is done for the purpose of losing weight. In this surgery, along with reducing the amount of food ingested, it also reduces intestinal absorption of the dose. A small pouch is made in one part of your stomach that separates from the other parts of the stomach. So that a small dose can be absorbed in this pouch. Apart from this, the small intestine is divided into two parts. After this the lower part is attached to the stomach, this is called the bypass joint.
