Im a critic and I agree you provoked Viv. Critiquing is different from using your personal experiences to hate something with, and I agree Stolas sucks, but what you started doing is inappropriate. Viv is also a victim. She was forcefully kissed by someone. I am also a victim. But you need to know not every victim is your vision of your perfect victim portrayal.

I responded a bit snappily due to her tone and being told to fuck off; our conversation became less heated the moment her tone got kinder. I told her I appreciated her for that, while still fundamentally disagreeing with her portrayal of the topic. I apologize for any rash or cruel things said in haste, but I was (and still am) frustrated with her constant dismissal of victims.

While assault is terrible regardless of its extremities, being forcefully kissed is not on the same level as being coerced into a sexual relationship. Not all victims/survivors have the same experiences and acknowledging that does not rob Vivzie of her victimhood. The truth of the matter is, the woman has never been financially pressured into having sex with someone, and she comes from a rich, privileged background. She does not have the experience of being so poor that she is forced into selling her body to survive.

There is no such thing as a 'perfect victim,' but Stolas is never acknowledged as a rapist or even coercive by the narrative. Instead, the writing expects you to see poor manipulation and rich class coercion as the same crime when it isn't. Infact, the writing tries to push that Blitz could've said no at any time, when this is fundamentally untrue. It is because of Vivzie's privilege that we're meant to perceive it this way... when anyone who has been in that situation or has been oppressed in even a remotely similar way can see the flaws with this narrative. Stolas is a victim of the monarchy, but he has never been a victim of Blitz. This is where the issue lies: assault can happen to anyone, but privilege is exclusive.

i feel like 1 reason this "pimpin' not simpin'" mug bothers me so much is, funny enough, it's kinda just a shit joke that doesn't really land? like they just went for smth that rhymes and it's not rly that funny. the phrase seems to imply "i don't simp over people, i pimp them" which, is ghastly and unfunny and punching down enough as it is, and even more ghastly to sell it to folks--but it's also like... a reach...??? like... afaik... pimps aren't/never have been mocked for "simping" over people...

Definitely. I thought the Glitch stream was super telling...Viv was throwing herself at Goose's feet, fawning all over her, meanwhile Goose and Tracy were never anything but polite to her, but that was all they were.

Aight, so she says that doing these calls really pulls down her mental health and such, and she wishes to find another way to talk with people and get suggestions AFTER something bad happens on vc. While I get that these sorts of things can be taxing to some already suffering from mental health issues, this seems like a lie cause she ends up doing them anyway in the patreon server. Also, it seems to be such a waste of money to people who pay a pot to even get special perks and to be on the server.

And the fact she didn't mute the person so their brother can not be further heard to disrupt the call and pretty much allowed it to go off early...idk man this all looks and feels unprofessional. I'm fine with breaks here and there, but this seems common with her...

Hot take: Val and Angel Dust would have been way better if they were just an average sketchy film producer and film star respectively. You can still have the "Angel Dust is an overworked party animal" and "Val is a creep who abuses his power" and have it fit way better with the other two more fantastical Vs and not have the weird whiplash between "Goofy Goober Hothead" and "Disturbingly real portrayal of an actual problem" like Val has in the show proper. At least that's my thoughts on them.

Okay so this was based specifically off of reading a fic where two different canon female love interests were written off as "cheating bitches" despite neither of them being unfaithful to the male love interest in canon, so...that, for one thing.

A non-exhaustive list of things that make me think the author really doesn't like women that much:

Women regularly being described using derogatory language (bitch, slut, etc)

Major female romantic rivals being written off as cheating, abuse, gold-diggers in an out of character way (for fics)

Female characters being described as shrill, hysterical, etc

Male characters being written in negative ways by giving them traditionally/stereotypically feminine traits (e.g., overly submissive, especially to an "overly assertive" female character)

Transmisogyny

Fridging female characters

Relationships between two women (usually two cis women, when genitals are relevant to the conversation) being erased or existing only as an afterthought while m/m relationships are a major focus

Female characters being derided or "getting their comeuppance" for being popular, being attractive and aware of the fact that they're attractive, liking/caring about fashion, being "overly" interested in men, etc

yes, raph has his name listed as “Tony” on Instagram, which is a common shortening/nickname version of “Anthony” which is Angel Dust’s real name.

And frankly, given that I'm already in the process of getting my refund with my own bank (it is being looked at rn) and am currently waiting for a response, I don't care either.
