Or, an alternate universe where David is a famous, reclusive modern contemporary artist and Patrick is the art critic who is interviewing him about his new exhibition.

Hi anon! I really appreciate this very kind message! It is so nice to hear that you’re happy for an update on The Art of Not Letting Go. It’s also incredibly touching for me, to hear that @podklb and I have been missed.

Last year, I replaced as high school principal at the school I work at, and I experienced a high level of work stress the whole way through. As a result, I didn’t have much energy or motivation to write when I wasn’t working, even though finishing this story always felt very important. This has been such a lovely fandom to be part of these past few years, and I didn’t want to leave it unfinished.

I’m so glad @podklb and I were able to find our way to the ending, and I’m really looking forward to getting to share it over the next few weeks. And I would be remiss if I did not express how extremely grateful I am for my friendship with @podklb. There were so many times, not just for this fic, but over the years since we first met through TL, where I’ve been able to find the stubbournly evasive words because of her encouragement, support, and wisdom. Writing can be such a lonely endeavour, but not since I’ve been creating collaboratively with @podklb. So many of my TL stories would not exist if not for her.

And then there’s lovely people, like you, here in this little tedbeard corner of this little TL fandom, that have made me and my words feel welcome.
