One Year On, and, still putting the N in cuts, SelfServatives are clinging on with every corrupt finger nail they have, after Jezza held them to a hung parliament. People’s sing their Prime Minister’s name out loud at every opportunity...

Theresa Meh. Unelected Pry Minister of what was once the United Kingdom, what was once Great Britain. Although the Brexit Summer Of Hate started with the far-right murdering mother, wife and MP, Jo Cox, and continued with a five-fold rise in hate crimes, nationwide Music fought back. Leave (some just wanted to help the NHS, not all were nazi traitors to the union flag) and Remain voters were united at festivals and gigs. Arts and Live music events brought joy and hope. New futures are still possible. Let’s be GREAT Little Britain and in 2020, if we really have to wait that long, Theresa May, but Jeremy WILL.

Got won over straight away by the energy, licks, riffs and anthemic chorus of ‘Habit’ by The Velvet Hands. Booked them for TheZineUK music social last Thursday. Celebrating their #RSD16 release, ‘Trains’, they smashed it, along with fellow Cornwall band, The Isabelles and special guest, Matt Mure. Loved it, and great to see both bands picking up great reviews, BBC plays etc. Always so appreciate artists giving us the time of night! #RocknRoll

While we are waiting for the new Nova Twins video made recently at the Fox & Firkin in Lewisham (yeah baby, Rocklands Town all the way!) here is a very happy memory of Valentine’s Night 2015. Got them back to the venue for the Freshers Rock Show in Autumn. Of course. LOVE this band!

What Dana Jade and the expanding Clit Rock family are doing for music and #FGM awareness is heroic. This show, Clit Rock 8, with Feral Five and Tear, was magic, too. Beth from Blindness and deux furieuses were in the audience. Took a pic of them together. Not long after, both bands were on stage together at #ArtBeatFest - gotta love #WomenInMusic - they are creating the future, which is equality when we can all just be musicians and music fans.
