Love Blues
karen smith x reader
It happens, but you always wondered why. Love is a strange thing, like a dog walking on it's hine legs. But why would love choose you of all people? You were just....you. You weren't the greatest, but you weren't the worst either. You were just you. Having been attending Northshore for three years, you weren't too high on the popularity scale. And you were beaten often.
And then you met Karen.
Chased into a stall, you ran into the first stall you could. There was Karen Smith, one of the Plastics, hanging out in the stalls, and you were confused--given that this was the boys' stall.
And then it began. Oftentimes, when she was with Regina or Karen, she would pass by you and make a wide smile. Oftentimes, you and her would play childish games (hide-and-go seek) and sometimes you would hang out.
Sometimes, you and Karen would go to the movies. Sometimes, Karen would kiss you gently. Sometimes, she'd say, "Let's skip school and go to Taco Bell.'' She was cute. She loved puppies, even once going as far as showing Regina and Gretchen some dogs that had been donated to her. They just thought it was the cutest thing ever. You did, too.
She was innocent in a lot of ways; once, Karen sat in front of a TV and imitated a jack-in-the-box; another time Karen hid money underneath her pillow for the "tooth fairy.'' Sometimes, she told Gretchen that "her (breasts) has espn.''
The first time you knew you were falling in love with Karen was when one day she was crying and you took her into a bathroom, splashed water on her face, and rocked her like a baby child.
The first time you kissed--under the stars at a big oak tree---your heart pounded out of your chest. You swore to her that you would do right by her---at least in your head.
Oh, did Gretchen adore the two of you. Often she and you would try to protect Karen. She was a sweet little baby child, a lamb almost, something that was so incredibly precious one could not even imagine what life was without her.

Good, Good Dancing
Karen Smith x reader
----You were guilty of a lot of things, but good timing was never one of them. The Spring Fling is less than a week away, and you have yet to learn how to dance. You are not very good at dancing. Your feet's like lead; and you can't move on the tempo.
---You were bemoaning your fate when Karen Smith, one of the Plastics, walked past you in the halls. She was laughing, having showed some people her "Fifth Sense."
---Now, Karen loves dancing. When she was in the Plastics, she would go out dancing three times a week. You were pleading with her, asking her to help you learn how to dance. To everyone's amazement, she agreed.
----She was smooth and lithe, and light and rhythm and speed. You couldn't dance not one bit. But for once, you were smart enough to pay attention. Despite being a ditz, she knew how to move.
----Over the next week, you watched the pretty blond jump around, moving. And you tried to copy her movements. She wasn't too bright, but she had a big heart and was good in her own way. And you fell for her.
----On the day of the Spring Fling, you and Karen went to the auditorium and begun your dance routine. But you begun to panic and ran out of the screaming.
----Karen managed to trace you to one of the stalls. She told you that it was going to be alright; that you are going to be alright and she gave you a kiss and told you good luck. You went out to the dance and amazingly---you won!
----After the dance, Karen took you out to Taco Bell, and for the first time, you told her you liked her. And she said she liked you back. You kissed her, and for the first time, you felt like you could conquer anything.

Things I Can't Explain
Karen Smith x reader
In life there were a lot of things you couldn't explain.
One of those things in life was falling in love with one of the most beautiful people you ever met in life.
It all started when you moved to Northshore.
Moving is hard on anybody, let alone a kid who didn't have much to begin with. Separated from your friends, the people that you grew up with, and the friends you grew up with. And you had nothing, just the clothes on your back.
You were rather low on the totem pole; being the new kid meant everybody knew you, and some kids love to pick on the new kid.
And then you met Karen.
You were in line with Karen when some skeeze named Jason walked up to the girls and tried to guess the girls' bra sizes and you just so happened to put a stop to it. She was upset, but was intrigued by you.
Karen wasn't very....err....smart, but she was very sweet and you liked her. A lot.
And she was easy to like.
She was pretty. Very pretty. The joy that she had radiated off of her as she went to Taco Bell was one of the things that made her beautiful. She was always prescribing that as a solution. Whenever you were mad---"Wanna do something fun? Lets go to Taco Bell!"'
And you'd shoot right back: "Karen, we can't just skip school to go to Taco Bell!"
It was cute, frankly.
You became very protective of her, telling her about some people, and even escorting her around school on occasion.
You were beginning to fall in love with her.
And then it call came to a head one afternoon. One afternoon, you had found Karen crying in the bathroom. Some girls had been calling her names and you (who just so happened to be in the bathroom) went there to comfort her. She kissed you as you were leading her out.
And then it finally came-----"You're very nice and sweet (Y/N) (Y/L/N). Why don't we go out to Taco Bell----on a date, this time."
From that time on, it was fun.
Love is a drug all its own. Karen made the world for first time shades of beautiful technicolor. Before the world was just black and white.
She showed you her talents of espn; you showed her yours. You helped out with assignments in class. You took her out on dates to the movie theater. And you are very protective of her. Every day, she was thankful you were with her. And you were thankful she was with you.
Gretchen adores you, and the two of you try to protect her from people who would take advantage of her.
In life there were a lot of things you couldn't explain. But Karen loved you and suddenly for the first time, some things were made clear.

Strange Love Ways
Fran Fine x reader
They say the ways of love is a strange thing.
The strange thing about it, is that you never know when it strikes; you could just be sitting at a table one second and be on the verge of a breakdown the next. It was like a rattlesnake, striking at people on the street. Not only that, it turned people into fools. It made people act stupid. Made them act in strange ways.
You knew that from experience.
Love had taken you on a painful journey that started with meeting a woman and ended with court-mandated child support. A journey that lead you to jail on more than one occasion. A journey that ended with you just barely managing to pick up the pieces of your heart. You swore it would never happen again. You'd never fall in love again.
Or so you thought.
Not even a year after, you uprooted from McComb, Mississippi to New York, to try to set down roots as an actor. You did measly Broadway plays, hoping to get noticed. You worked jobs on the side. You sent home checks to your daughter's mother. And after three years, you attracted the attention of Max Sheffield, a Broadway producer, and his assistant.
You even met his three kids--Brighton, a prank-shooting wiseguy, Maggie, a normal teen, and little Grace, who seemed to be more adult than child.
And then you met Fran.
The minute Fran Fine strutted into your life you wanted to take back everything you said. She was the happiest thing you seen in years. Everything felt so new and happy.
The strange ways of love had struck you again, and harder. You were so whipped for her, it was frightening.
But can you blame yourself?
She was wonderful. Just the way she walked and the way she talked brought joy to your life. Her high, nasal voice irritated everyone else (Niles had to wear ear plugs when she screamed or laughed) but brought joy to you; all the while you wondered what you did to deserve her.
She was beautiful. When she smiled, it was like springtime had come alive. Her beautiful brown eyes would stare at you for hours. And when she wore clothes, it was like every set of clothes was designed for her.
Man, you were in love.
The three Sheffield kids loved her; she was just a joy to be around. Maggie especially, and Gracie. She brought joy to their lives. She even got on well with Mr. Sheffield, despite the fact she irritated him on occasion. He would just look at her and smile.
She made you get up in the morning and thank God every day that you were with her. Your friends would all tell you, "Geez (Y/N), you're so whipped!'' They would tease you on just how much in love you were with her. Even C.C. warmed up to her---well, I wouldn't say "warmed up" exactly, more like grow to expect her presence. She would still call her "Nanny Fine."
Niles even grew to love her; they were the best of friends. She would even involve him in her escapades.
(Once, the three of you even broke Max's statue and wound up having to go to the store to get it fixed. Thankfully, he never found out.)
Your child loves her. They would play for hours. Whenever she caught you staring at Fran, she would say "Fran! Daddy's staring with that stupid expression!''
Sometimes, she would tell you stories of growing up with her Jewish relatives. And you would even tell her stories of growing up in McComb, to which she found funny.
Her mom was a precious person; she would shout "Morty!'' and she would take pictures of you two. When you brought food, you had to guard your food from her, because she will eat it.
Grandma Yetta adores you. Well, that's at least because she was almost senile; given that she thought you were "Freddie," as she called Fran.
("The one good thing about senility,'' Fran once said, "is that you're always meeting new people.")
Fran would drive you to work and plant kisses on your head when you went to sleep. She even made you breakfast in the morning. She made your life happier than it ever was. She would look at you with those wide, love-filled eyes and would say "I love you, (Y/N) (Y/L/N)."
And you would say, "I love you too, Fran Fine"
Maybe these strange love ways wouldn't be so bad after all.
