Got to see Sting at one of the few showings in my area. Loved the part where Charlotte goes after the spider with a squirt gun full of moth ball water. Every now and then we find a Black Widow where I work. Wouldn't be surprised if they did come from space.

A good week for monster movies, Arcadian, Nicolas Cage fighting very original creatures after the end of the world.

Saw Alex Garland's Civil War, intense movie. Already we have reviewers missing the point, imagining it's all about their politics, their side. Ignore them. Decide for yourself. Great scene: the sniper duel. It doesn't matter who's side they're on when they're trying to shoot you.

Nell Tiger Free in The First Omen, a movie that turned out to be a lot better than I was expecting, but here should have been more scenes of Margaret and Luz drinking and partying.

Watched Riddle of Fire, 2023, a trio of kids, who exist in a fantasy version of Wyoming, go on a quest to steal a speckled egg and bake a pie, while shooting people with paint ball guns, as things get progressively weirder. One of the funnier movies I've seen this year.

Late Night with the Devil. Dug the 70's look and vibe. They definitely did their research. People forget just how much craziness went down in the 70's, forget just how creepy and violent it got...

Love Lies Bleeding, well, this was nice and weird, liked how Kristen Stewart's Lou was fucked up, dangerous and arguably toxic but still trying to unfuck herself, also I choose to believe that Jackie can now turn into a hulk, which might be useful, wherever they're going.

Finally got to see Dune: Part Two, on a giant RPX screen, which is how it should be experienced. Giedi Prime, in particular, was brilliantly realized, alien, disquieting.

Mazes and Monsters, my second favorite Tom Hanks movie.

Drove through city traffic in a rainstorm to see Diablo Cody and Zelda Williams' Lisa Frankenstein, which was weird, novel, and funny. Hoping for an unrated cut.
