#I KNOW THEY KISS BUT THIS IS NOT ABOUT YOU!#THIS IS A MOVIE ABOUT SEXUAL ASSAULT AND THE AMERICAN JUSTICE SYSTEM RAAAAUUGH [my telekinesis throws everything across the room]#[comes back calmly] that they would rather die than entrust their lives to the criminal justice system is the point.

i don’t get horror movies, why doesn’t the protagonist just act in a way which will prevent a story from being told or piece of entertaining media made

I did watch the Superman movie. While it's nothing radical when it comes to the Palestine thing, I do enjoy seeing Zionists being pissed about it, because even a single sign of empathy towards a colonized/occupied group gets under their skin.

I do consider "let people enjoy things" to be a sort of thought terminating cliche at this point. while there are of course exceptions it seems to most often be employed as a knee jerk response to any critical or dissenting opinions no matter how impersonal, which isn't so much taking a stance for the freedom of individual taste as expressing a profound discomfort with criticism being expressed at all.

oh wow and ken is claiming that this is a time loop. i wonder if you choose colt/jessie, if you can play through this route without even knowing that or....

burrows is interesting bc it seems like you can choose between multiple characters to romance each route? which makes me wonder how much route variation there will be in the finished product like that's kind of crazy
#anyway kens route is hard. because i do want to see more of what is going on with ken#but colt gives me some kind of strange gender envy

(Superman Spoilers)
Lois Lane ragebaits Superman during an interview, pours half a container of sugar into about 4 ounces of coffee and dictates an article taking down lex luthor while driving a hovercraft. They nailed her. We are so back.

the version of btvs where jesse actually haunts the narrative is soooo good
like imagine if the show used xander killing jesse as a motivator for him throughout the show. part of why he throws himself into the supernatural world so hard is because he wants to avenge his friend. he hates vampires because he sees them as the things that took one of his closest friends away from him. he rationalizes killing jesse by choosing to firmly believe that vampires are all unambiguous monsters that have to be killed. he resents angel because he has a soul, which allows him to live. what if he had been able to get jesse a soul? he resents spike because, despite being soulless, he is full of humanity. would jesse have been like that if xander and buffy had allowed him to live? hell, what if they had been able to put a chip in jesse's head?
does buffy feel guilty about not having been able to save him? does she feel conflicted about having to kill him? does she feel sorry that it was xander (rather than her) that had to kill him?
jesse's name never comes up again and i think that's a shame.
#yeah tags said so much of how i feel about this. would be a compelling narrative choice#but its just not there in the narrative as is. xander ends up feeling like#a mouthpiece for so many of joss whedons resentment of cool girls in relation to dorky guys#and the angel conflict and many other things come off as very incel flavored as a result#and i dont like him. but i would have found him a lot more palatable if this was the angle#btvs
