• Ino gives Sakura flowers all the time;

but not just any flowers ; oh no, that would be too simple.

every bouquet is a carefully crafted love letter in floral form, courtesy of the Yamanaka family’s encyclopedic knowledge off floristry. A red camellia (admiration and gratitude), baby’s breath (everlasting love -allegedly-), and, when she’s feeling particularly smug : a sunflower, just to watch Sakura’s whole face glow when she realises.

• “You’re so cheesy, Ino-pig,” Sakura mutters, rolling her eyes,

but guess what? she keeps every single one: pressed between the pages of her medical textbooks, preserved in her mission reports, hidden in her desk drawer like a secret. She thinks Ino doesn’t notice but Ino notices everything.

• Forget-me-nots;

Ino’s signature move: every time they’re separated for missions, Sakura finds one —tiny&delicate— hidden in her kunai pouch.

A little ”I’m with you” in petal form.

• Ino loves doing Sakura’s hair;

she laims it’s “therapeutic”, but really: she just wants an excuse to run her fingers through Sakura's petal-soft hair.

• Sakura Haruno, kunoichi extraordinaire, destroyer of battlefields;

—melts like butter at forehead kisses. Ino figures this out embarrassingly fast and boy:

it’s lethal.

so now: whenever Sakura’s being stubborn, all it takes is a soft peck to her forehead to make her short cırcuıt.

• Sakura loses track of time at the hospital constantly;

Ino shows up like a 𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂 𝓹𝓻𝓮𝓽𝓽𝔂 alarm clock: arms crossed, hip cocked, holding a bento box like a weapon. ”You skipped lunch again, didn’t you?” she accuses, but there’s no real heat behind her words; just a fond look while she gently nudges the food into her Cherry Blossom's hands.

”sigh. seriously, what would you do without me?”

• Mornings are a negotiation;

Ino doesn’t mind getting up early, but she refuses to start the day without coffee. Sakura, however, wakes up with way too much energy: she's like a 𝗌𝗎𝗇𝖻𝖾𝖺𝗆 𝗂𝗇𝖼𝖺𝗋𝗇𝖺𝗍𝖾.

So, to compromise:

Sakura drags her out for an unholy pre-dawn jog but ONLY if they hit Ino’s favorite café after.

Ino grumbles (and whines) the whole way. Sakura just grins.

• On cold dayd, they share a scarf;

Ino drapes her objectively-too-long-for-one-person white scarf over Sakura’s shoulders with the same grace she does everything.

“You’re shivering," she says,

Sakura doesn’t protest and tugs the fabric closer. When Ino wraps the other end around herself, their shoulders bump, and they share a bit of warmth.

It’s practical, really..

And Sakura secretly loves it.
