Finally updated Lu’nala’s armor (I still had her running around in lvl 15 armor whoops). Might use glamour prisms to make her current gear look like what I had on her before
For Lu’nala’s jobs / classes, my rough outline of thought is:
Black Mage - main profession
Machinist - secondary profession
Maaaybe Sage or Astrologian - tertiary profession
Alchemist - side gig

Started playing FF14 (free trial) around Christmas. My WoL: Lu’nala Naeuri, a Raen clan Au Ri.
She’s a thaumaturge and as soon as I get back to Ul’Dah, she’s going to become a Black Mage (yeah I uhhh…spent a lot of time doing subquests / sidequests more than I did the main storyline so my bean is like…lvl 34 now)
I also have her doing Alchemy and I think maybe once I finish A Realm Reborn, I’ll take up Machinist (because everything can be solved by giving Lu’nala a gun)

Welp. That was a disaster.
Dany wakes back in camp, taken there by the shem (according to the folks back home), and no Tamlen in sight. Disoriented, confused, and still a bit weak, Dany stumbles around camp until she encounters Fenarel, a friend to both her and Tamlen, and in relief at the sight of her, he promptly informs her that she's lucky, as lucky as the gods apparently.
When he inquires after her wellbeing, however, Dany forces her own discomfort aside and focuses instead on her worry for Tamlen. Though her outward appearance doesn't show it, inside Dany is beating herself up. Why didn't she pull him away? Why didn't she drag him back to camp to inform Keeper Marethari what they had found? Why, oh why didn't she put her foot down?
No matter how hard Dany tries to find an answer, she doesn't have one.
(or maybe the answer is that she was curious too).
After bidding Fenarel adieu for now, Dany speaks to Keeper Marethari.
Where we learn that shit's not good.

Dany is honest: she had kept telling Tamlen that they should return, but he would not listen to her; Keeper Marethari tries to reassure her that even she herself might have been tempted, but Dany can only think of what her inaction, her inability to get Tamlen to listen has caused. She's failed her clan, her mind tells her relentlessly.
There is no time for that now though as she quickly realizes, the longer that the older woman speaks, that the Keeper intends to send her back to the cave to find Tamlen. As much as the potential knowledge these ruins hold intrigues her, the Keeper is quick to announce that Tamlen is far more important. As Duncan is searching for darkspawn in the cave, Keeper Marethari knows that they cannot rely on him to find Tamlen as well and so the task falls to Dany...and also Merrill, First to the Keeper.
Before she sets out to get Merrill, Dany speaks with two people: Fenarel and Hahren Paivel.
Dany ends up having to dissuade Fenarel from coming along. Tamlen is his friend as well, after all, and maybe that should be reason enough to let him come with, but Dany refuses and insists he stays, pointing out that Keeper Marethari told her to take only Merrill and she has no desire to against the Keeper's wishes. She also doesn't want to risk losing Fenarel. She's already lost one friend.
When she finally manages to dissuade her friend, Dany approaches Hahren Paivel afterwards with nothing short of dread.

He does not hesitate to let her have it and Dany does not protest because she feels it is deserved. The reminder that Tamlen pays the price for their foolishness, that had it not been for Duncan the clan might have lost not just one but two members cuts like a dagger across Dany's heart.
Together, Hahren Paivel and Dany recite the fall of the Dales and the oath of the Dalish to the clan children, and Dany endeavors to brand those words into her memory so that she may never forget them.
"We are the Dalish: keepers of the lost lore, walkers of the lonely path. We are the last Elvhenan. Never again shall we submit."

And so, our foolish would-be explorers enter The Cave of Bad Things™ and Tamlen points out that the architecture of these ruins look to be more Human than Elven. As the duo explore the cave more, they find spiders which they kill plenty of (and Dany almost gets mauled by one) but no answers on why elven artifacts would be here until they find:

The Friend of the Dead: Falon'din. Tamlen explains that back in Ancient Arlathan, statues like this one were used to honor the creators. Unfortunately, this discovery only brings more questions with no answers in sight while Dany laments that so much of their lore and culture and history was lost to them thanks to centuries of enslavement by the Shems.

So human architecture and elven artifacts...it might be that these ruins were built by humans long ago and elves just settled in, taking the abandoned spaced for their own or some kind of Tevinter Imperium-related bullshit. The pair don't find an answer; there's no library or artifact to examine that could determine the nature of these ruins and who built them and why.
Tamlen is surprised...in awe?...at the thought of humans and elves living together, but Dany doesn't think it was anything so simple or close to that given the age of the ruins.
They two move on and of course, they are quick to learn that The Cave of Everything Can and Will Go Wrong has not only spiders but also undead. Yes. Undead. Dany unluckily triggers a trap that releases some kind of gas (poison?) and wakes up the dead in the process.
Tamlen is more unnerved now after that so Dany encourages him to talk, which leads to her revealing that she wanted to be with him when he asks why she's here with him and not working with Master Ilen.

And then they fight a bear. Not just any bear though. A bereskarn, a creature infected by the blight -- not that either of them knows that, of course. They probably think it's some kind of demon, which, honestly, very first time I ever played DA, I did too.
I try to get the chest that's at the back entrance of the chamber, but Tamlen is like "you're not gonna leave without examining the mirror are you" and I wish I could have made Dany say, "Yes. Because we've been here long enough, and something isn't right about this place. We need to leave now," (because yes. That is very much something Dany would to say) but again: the braincells are with Fenarel back at camp so unfortunately, Dany goes to examine the mirror with him instead of being the voice of reason that she should really be right now.
She does, however, inform Tamlen that she doesn't trust it and neither should he -- but he waves her off.

Me screaming at my screen like: BACK TF AWAY. BACK TF AWAY RIGHT NOW. TURN AROUND AND LEAVE MAKER-DAMMIT
Dany even tells him to get away from it after he sees something, but UNFORTUNATELY he doesn't listen to her...AGAIN. Which is made even worse because once he looks into the Eluvian, he cannot look away from whatever it is that sees him...
...to disastrous consequences.

Maker-dammit, you guys...
Poor Dany, though. Catching the darkspawn plague and her boyfriend unleashing it into the chamber was not on her 9:30 Dragon bingo card.

The hardest part of the main story quests is always Orzammar for me. I’m never sure who to put on the throne
Sometimes I wish there was some kind of third option, one that doesn’t result in either’s death

She's supposed to be helping Master Ilen today, but when she learns that Tamlen intends to go out into the forest to hunt, Danyrill jumps at the chance to go with him. Not just for a chance to get away from the camp, even if for just a short while, but also because of...personal reasons they hold hands
However, things take a turn when three shems stumble across them in their haste to flee from something, terror in their eyes and voices. Unfortunately, their hasty fleeing brought them too close to Clan Sabrae's camp as Tamlen is quick to point out.

Though they do try for some bravado and get a bit demanding, a little arrogant despite their frightened state, however it doesn't...do anything besides irritating Tamlen further. At that moment Dany makes her entrance, letting the group know that no. He is not alone. And that yes, the shems are on thin ice right now.

The whole conversation is rife with disdain and disgust and the memories of every last pain and injustice that the Elves have suffered through throughout the centuries, throughout millenniums -- that they still suffer though -- fill the air. Tension is thick.
buuuut nothing happens because while Dany might not hesitate to issue threats and break bones, she is not, however, a killer. So she advocates letting them go, insisting that Tamlen's scared them enough to make them think twice. Of course, Tamlen does not hesitate to tell her that she's too soft and maybe she is!
But she's still not a killer. not yet at least
Anyway. That leads up to them telling Dany and Tam about The Cave™, where everything that can go wrong does! Because by the Creators, it does not take long before everything goes to shit.
Tamlen is doubtful of this cave, Dany thinks they should return to camp to tell the Keeper but that doesn't happen because unfortunately the braincells were left back at camp with Fenarel.

The Cave™ is found, Tamlen is now a believer, and Dany is looking at the cave like the sus monster that it is, troubled by the appearance of a cave they had not seen before.
I mean...that's not too odd right? It's a big forest. It's possible there's more caves to be found that they had no idea existed.
But this is The Cave™ -- the cave of bad things -- and Dany tries being the voice of reason, again. Like be on guard, something's not right, etc. but TAMLEN:
And again because the braincells were left with Fenarel, Dany does not think to drag Tamlen's ass back to camp even though maybe she SHOULD.
I love you, Dany, but Maker dammit.

I don't know how to start this but here's Danyrill without her vallaslin. Yes. She has no eyebrows. I imagine she shaves them to better present...show off?...the blood writing on her face. She looks so cute I love her.
Hallo! Welcome! This is me doing a thing! By that I mean, I'm going to blog Dany's adventures.
I know I did a (private / personal) playthrough of DA:O with Dany before buuut I wasn't fully happy with some of my choices, both RP and story wise (plus, I was unsatisfied with my pick for Dany's vallaslin), annnnd I wasn't happy with my final build for Dany either. So! I wanted to go through DA:O with Dany again and this time I wanted to share some of that journey on Tumblr.
So uhhh...you wanna kill some darkspawn? :D

So like I said in the Emelie Van Gould post tags: Ayden was a lot harder to recreate because none of the CC I had matched his shirt and the closest CAS item the game has that even vaguely (if you squint) resembles it is this top from the Cats&Dogs expansion.
I might try again at a later date (I might need to look for ts3 CAS items conversions if there are any) but for now...this will have to do

My ts4 recreation of Tristan Van Gould. I tried my best, but trying to get his face to resemble Robert Pattinson, even vaguely, was a challenge and I don't think I got close enough.
I tried my best though. I think I might just have an aversion to recreating real life people in the sims, even if that person is just an actor playing a character.

I made one of my favorite Moonlight Falls townies: Emelie Van Gould. Not a 100% one for one recreation, but I think I got pretty close
CC Used: Hair: QuirkyIntrovert Top: AHarris00Britney Accessory Top, Shoes: Trillyke
And below the cut you'll find an updated version of her that fits my style in sims 4 a bit more
I might redo this design though just for funsies.
CC Used: Hair: Simstrouble Top: Clumsyalien Skirt, Leggings: AHarris00Britney Boots: jius-sims
#the sims 4#ts4#ts3 to ts4#sim recreation#emelie van gould#and yes I also did her father and brother#ayden was a LOT harder to do though. There was no shirt that really resembled what he wore in ts3

After forgetting about it for so long, I FINALLY re-installed the smooth patch (the latest update) and my game is running so much smoother now.
CAS is still doing its lag thing but it’s not as bad as it was before the smooth patch — before I was spending like an hour in CAS…

Nicol knows he's in the fade.
He knows that, but that doesn't make it less surreal to encounter a talking rat.
Well, a man who can take animal form.
Mouse was, at some point, apparently an apprentice sent to take his Harrowing. He took too long and was killed. Nicol is not the least bit surprised by that; he can easily imagine Knight-Commader Greagoir or some other templar getting stab-happy when a mage doesn't come back in a 'timely' manner, with the excuse of to prevent something from getting out.
And maybe that's true, but Nicol wonders since one can be sent to the fade, couldn't one then be pulled out? Or would that simply be too much effort to even attempt to figure out.

Anyway, mouse joins the party and Nicol wishes he had a stiff drink right about now.

And so we go to do our Harrowing.

Nicol is regretting getting out of bed that morning and doesn't want to be there, but he sticks around anyway because the alternative is be Tranquiled or be killed.
Sooo no real choice for him really :/

First Enchanter Irving tries to give some advice but Greagoir's like 'no. he's on his own for this." As if to say how dare you try to involve yourself, even if it's just to be encouraging and give advice to a scared shitless apprentice.
Nicol does not like Knight-Commander Greagoir and is in fact waiting for the day when this man kicks the bucket.
Tbh fair he doesn't like Irving much either, but he does, at least at this point in the origin story, have some respect for him.
