please please expand on the genderbent black brothers and black sisters

this is giving me brainrot so i am VERY happy to do that. under the cut bc it gets long:

first, it would change the dynamic of the Black family all the way across the board. it's walburga and orion who have the daughters, while cygnus and druella have the sons. i think this could change parenting styles a LOT, depending on how the parents are characterized to begin with, which ofc would have an overall impact on the children etc etc.

that being said, bellatrix being the eldest son... he is the heir that they wanted to sirius to be. just as skilled & powerful, but also someone who upholds the family values (the pureblood ideology to be clear). he would take his duties as the heir very seriously; he'd marry at the first opportunity & also have children as soon as he could to carry on the bloodline. i think he'd still become a death eater and a very terrifying one at that (just like canon), and i think he could still end up extremely loyal to voldemort, which would end with him still going to azkaban tbh, but i think he'd leave behind a wife (unless she went with him?) and children, who would likely be raised by narcissa.

andromeda, still the middle son, not required to be the heir but still facing the expectations of his family. him running away... i think, quite frankly, if he falls in love and has no interest in staying with the family/doesn't agree with the family values etc etc, he would still go. i could see it being a little different, though, given that they all have different duties now. like, andromeda isn't a woman and therefore isn't expected to marry and produce heirs—or he is, but bellatrix is already doing it/has already done it, so he has a little more wiggle room. i think him getting caught up with someone would be waved off if he was a boy, or labeled as a "dalliance" or just a boy being rebellious etc etc. he'd for sure get a lot of "you're making us look bad" scoldings, but i could see it also being more like an alphard situation, that as long as he doesn't marry someone he shouldn't or have children with them, he could still remain in the family/not disowned. would he do that? idk, but i also don't know that bellatrix, as the heir, would really give him a choice in the matter either. i could absolutely see him threatening or killing anyone andromeda tried to get with, ESPECIALLY if they're not "suitable" for him. but i guess it would depend on how defiant andromeda would be in that position as the second born son, with an older brother who is filling their father's shoes perfectly etc etc + the extra freedoms and passes he'd be granted as a man. if he did insist on running and getting away from his family, not only for love but also for having different values, then he'd end up disowned for sureeee. and i think bella would see it even more like a duty to "take care of it" aka kill him and his family.

narcissa... youngest son... an afterthought atp. the spare of the spare. sorry just had the most insane thought of not genderbending lucius and them 2 being gay and falling in love.... or omg, narcissa being raised as a son but she's actually a trans woman... shaking in my boots rn but no, okay, im focusing. im staying on track... third son narcissa, he would either be the spoiled baby or barely noticed, no in between, and i think both would make him eager to follow the example bellatrix would set for him. he idolizes his big brother, but does he also resent him? perhaps he feels the need to compete with him. hates him and also wants to be him. can never be him. he would get along more with andromeda, and probably be even closer to him, but it'd be bellatrix he's obsessed with emulating. bellatrix is who he wants to be, and i actually LOVE the idea of murderous narcissa consumed with the idea of fratricide. the idea of him doing something to get bellatrix put in azkaban (he tips off the aurors, maybe) and then raising bellatrix's children, bedding his wife, taking over his life..... INSANE. i could see him being a lot like lucius as well, as far as like. evading consequences for being a death eater and loving his child/ren, but also the idea of him having his own child/ren except he takes in bellatrix's and loves them more... oh, that's so juicy to me sorry.

sirius... eldest daughter.... not expected to be the heir, but expected to marry a proper suiter and have children and also uphold the family values. again, different raising could change a lot, but let's just say it's similar, and sirius would of course still be as defiant and outspoken as ever. i truly do not think sirius would want to marry and have kids, and i think that would be a problem. i think it would be one of those situations where her parents are pressuring her and not letting it go, and it could play out the same was as it did in canon, where she runs away to live with the potters. OR, she uses james as the solution lmao. like, if we're only genderbending the Blacks, then james is still a pureblood son, and while he is from a blood traitor family that his parents hate, there's room for compromise, depending on how orion and walburga approach the situation. i truly do believe james would marry her, literally no questions asked and with no hesitation, and not even bc they're dating or in love or whatever, but literally just because it's sirius 😭 and we know lucretia black wasn't disowned for marrying a prewett (also blood traitors), even though cedrella was for marrying a weasley, so it could go either way. but the thing is, i don't know that sirius WOULD marry james. i feel like she would refuse to appease her parents anyway, whether she was in love with james or not, ya know? again, that'd really depend on home life and expectations etc etc, and i also think her role as an older sister would play a role in it as well. eldest daughter syndrome would go SO hard for sirius oh my godddd. she doesn't want to be a mother but she's already a mother. her little sister is her baby and she hates her and loves her and could never leave her and never wants to see her again... and god, the idea of sirius being her mother's porcelain doll and her father's baby girl... SO much to play with there, im going insane.

as for regulus... youngest daughter, little sister... she's not important in the grand scheme of things tbh. like, she's not even a spare, she's failure take 2 lmao. sirius wasn't a boy which was bad enough, but then regulus wasn't either??? double the damage. however i do think she would marry without fuss and have children like she's "supposed" to. i think it depends on HER situation if she'd leave with sirius or not. like, if she was going to have a comfortable life and a worthy husband etc, i think she'd stay, but if she didn't like her betrothed or didn't consider him worth her time, i could see her leaving with sirius lmao, because she's not gaining anything by staying. they're not heirs, y'know? i think regulus would take after her mother in that she would not be eager to give up her last name (and probably would have married WITHIN the family if she could) so unless she personally deemed her betrothed as "worthy" of a Black, she'd just take it as a slight and nope the fuck out lmaooo. however, if she DID stay (most likely), she'd be doing her best to prove that she was the Better Daughter all along, and i think she'd be absolutely fucking furious and heartbroken about sirius leaving, UNLESS she got the husband sirius didn't want or something. like, maybe the whole time she was bitter bc sirius got the best pick of the lot and when sirius leaves, SHE gets whoever it is instead, and is smug about it, at least until she has to spend the rest of her life with a man who wanted her sister over her and makes that as clear as possible every chance he gets, which would just make her hate sirius more... mm, so much angst potential... and she wouldn't be a death eater i think, unless... i mean she still COULD be, but i don't know that her parents would be proud of her for that, not if they want her to marry and be a mother, so like. if she didn't care to become a death eater, she would live, she'd be married, have children or just one, and she'd be around when sirius goes to azkaban. she'd still be around when sirius broke out... sirius coming to her sister... regulus taking her in....

so yeah, there's a lot to play around with here. i don't think bending their genders would swap their stories the other way around, i think they'd have similar stories to what it was originally, but with crazy variations. im so not normal about this. im gonna be thinking about forever now....

people always ask sirius why he’s so reckless—with his actions, with people, and most of all with his heart. i’m not. he wants to scream. i try not to be, he swears, but he just can’t help it. his impulses are too strong. he does what he’s not supposed to with such ease. making a bad decision is in his nature.

sirius wishes he didn’t have to keep apologizing, but in order to do that he’d have to stop doing things wrong to the people he loves. he wishes his most common phrase wasn’t “i’m sorry,” and sometimes wishes people would stop forgiving him because deep down he knows he doesn’t deserve it. one day, he thinks they’ll realize that, too. he knows he should want that for them. it’s better and healthier, to leave him in the dark, but sirius is selfish and would rather them stay and endure him than leave him all alone.
