Making a new character for a ttrpg I'll be playing later this year and ooooo. OOOOOOOO boy. My poor man. :( sad angry man!
His name is Cain, he's a [homebrew anthro-dog race] who looks like a Beauceron (ancestor breed of Rottweilers and Dobermans) who was basically a fighting dog against his will in a underground ring.
For the ttrpg he's gonna be in, the character backstory has to end in the character's death - Cain died because he panicked and attacked his handlers and was muzzled and chained up in a cell. Still panicking, he manages to claw off the muzzle and get one hand out of the shackles but can't get the other. so he chews it off. He is Completely feral with panic and bashes down the door, bleeding severely, and mauls several guards before getting shot and put down.
My poor man will do anything if someone is nice enough to him in asking, he is desperate for compassion and companionship and the lengths he knows he can be easily manipulated into going frightens him :(

#i have an oc im rotating in my mind recently that has to kill the closest equivalent of a caretaker#he got severely injured and refuses any hospital treatment so reauests that the character is the one to do it#he frames them the whole time as inherently/intended to be a murderer by god and the character has already killed a few people by that point#but his death is what cements in their mind that he's right#which leads into the worst period of their life where they're basically fulfilling the same roll as a lion in a colloseum#teehee

Whumpee being manhandled into restraints:
Shoved up against a wall and handcuffed.
Pinned to the floor and handcuffed.
Fighting for each limb as they’re forced down on a table, slowly secured by leather restraints.
Overwhelmed by multiple Whumpers, each one working to subdue them.
Yanked back by their hair so a collar or rope can easily be fitted around their throat.
Pinned while in combat (double points for being caged against a wall or trapped in a chokehold)
Improvised restraints like belts, sheets, or clothing when Whumpee won’t be still enough to retrieve proper ones.
Manhandled in a hospital bed, held down for the duration of a procedure.
Injected with a chemical restraint, a sedative or numbing agent that quickly bleeds the fight out of them.
Struggling as a muzzle is wrestled over their head and secured.
A blow to the head that knocks Whumpee out or makes them too dizzy to fight anyone off.

this or that - whump tropes (21)
not necessarily the most realistic or medically accurate options to take a character out/capture them but they sure are fun
#i appreciate the threatening-ness of needles but alas. too scawy for me#my fav is someone being handed a drink and despithe fact that they're pretty sure its not a good kdea they dont have a choice#be it bc they need to allow themselves to be kidnapped for whatever reason#or perhaps because they cant let the other(s) in the situation know that they're onto what's going on#poll

this or that - captivity whump (19)
#long term#i like it when the whumpee becomes accustomed to captivity#not necessarily to a 'im completely broken and cannot do anything without having a panic attack' level#but i like a whumpee trying to manipulate the captor back 'oh you're doing x to make me do y. what if i negotiate y to be something useful'#i have a (very self indugent somewhat self insert)#who was groomed and manipulated into living with and committing crimes for and with a very dangerous man#and they very much coach their behaviour to keep him happy/distracted so they dont get so hurt

im kind of interested, as a person in the whump community under the age of 18, what percentage of this community is under 18. i see a lot of whump blogs that say minors DNI, which is a struggle for me since i literally thrive off reading whump. is it weird for me to enjoy whump since im underage and the topics we write about are typically quite fucking disgusting?
pls reblog, just because it helps with the purpose of the poll <3
#im 23 now but got involved in the community when i was like 17?#and was most active from then until I went to uni ad had less energy

Fics where a character gets magically turned into their younger/child selves with no memory of their adult self and everyone around them has to help take care of the child and in the process learn about their traumatizing childhood and/or realize just how much the adult self has gone through in their life my beloved

I've been writing a couple things but I haven't had much interest in specifically writing whump anymore; of those of you still following me/seeing my posts who remember my old writing, would you be upset if I just shifted this blog to a regular writing blog?
#its definitely still gonna have whumpy stuff bc im incapable of writing things where nothing bad happens lmao#it just wouldn't be the focus/motivation for writing in everything#my stuff

To the list of underappreciated lines in whump:
"I've never seen you like this before."
#ohhhh you could bend it for some many different contexts#someone going absolutely mad with grief determined to bring down those at fault#someone completely put of their head in pain and/or fear and someone they're supposed to protect saying this#someone angrier than theyve ever been seen and an ally getting scared of them#the possibilities are endless

I'm a big fan of hurt/comfort tropes where the hurt is ongoing and escalating. Characters trying to cope with their situation and insisting that it's fine, they're fine, even as things get worse and worse and worse - especially if no one around them knows what they're going through.
Characters hiding their illness, even as they grow sicker and sicker. Characters trying to cope as their homelife becomes increasingly abusive or neglectful. Characters ignoring their injuries, only for them to become infected. Characters being stalked/ tormented by a villain and pretending that everything is fine, even as the villain continues escalating. Characters left homeless as winter approaches and their money dwindles.
I could go on. There's something very satisfying about seeing a character frantically trying to pretend like everything is okay until eventually they can't hide it anymore and get caught (and helped) by the people around them.

I watched The Raid: Redemption the other day and then repeatedly afterwards and I'm completely obsessed
#mad dog my absolute beloved wish you had more screen time#hes so cool#it is a very whumpy movie but theres only a couple scenes where my poor little meow meow pf a main character gets to breathe#the rest is man running on pure adrenaline (and also concaine. they fight in an active drug lab with open head wounds and no breathing ecpt)#the raid#the raid redemption#mad dog#im in love with him a little bit

Got my COVID booster over the weekend and it hit pretty hard, and whilst wallowing in my sleep-deprived misery yesterday, I thought of a question for y'all because I'm curious.
(For me personally, I tend to avoid it! It makes me too aware of my own body/the unpleasant sensations I'm feeling.)
#i almost always get mega headaches when im ill so generally cant consume any content#at least not what involves a screen#but i also haven't been properly ill for quite a while#HOWEVER. i am currently injured#i knocked over a cup of boiling water while i was making tea and attempted to chatch the mig#so my whole left wrist and hand is 1st degree burned#(im ok! was able to put cold wateron it immediately and continuously and called the non-emergence line to make sure id done the right thing)#and i am avoiding whump content bc OW#i dont want to be reminded of the pain esp. since it still hurts when i bend/use it at all#ive never had a worse burn than this and i hope to god i never do#literally this was unbearable to begin with#i did it mid-morning and it was still too painful to not regularly put under cold water by midnight onwards#i basically slept with my hand in a saucepan of cold water lmao

having a side wound is such slut behavior tbh. like damn your waist is looking pretty grabbable right now 👀 due to needing to apply pressure to stop the bleeding. but also other factors.
