I love the original Bakugan Battle Brawlers show cause the tiny, shy, sweet girl who doesn't like fighting is best friends with a 25ft+ cyborg hydra who embodies the natural element of darkness and loves violence but they make it work cause they are BFFs.

How does the whole “direct descendant” thing work, anyway?

Genesis Dragonoid and Dharaknoid are supposed to be the ancestors of all (non-Mechanical) Bakugan, with Drago and Dharak as direct descendants. Direct descendant just means that that ancestor is your great-grandpa and not your great-granduncle, for example. Unless Code Eve also created other Bakugan (or gave them the power to create them) that are the actual ancestors to most modern-day Bakugan, literally every Bakugan should be a direct descendant of one of the two. (Actually there has to have been more Bakugan directly created, unless there was a whole lot of sweet home Alabama in early Vestroia.)

Also, why are all Bakugan, with their wide variety of species and body shape, all descended from a pair of bipedal dragons?

Some thoughts

Since Hydranoid has the Infinity Core and 1000 Gs, the Gatekeepers should be much easier to defeat, and the Battle Brawlers can get to Naga before he fully absorbs the Silent Core and evolves.

Wavern survives!

Once Naga’s defeated, presumably Vestroia would fully merge and the Bakugan would return home like the anime, just with Hydranoid inside the Perfect Core instead of Drago.

New Vestroia would start similar, just with Dan/Drago swapped with Alice/Hydranoid, but since Marucho wouldn’t be near Alice to come along, the Resistance wouldn’t have an Aquos or Pyrus member and would have two Darkus members (Shun’s still there because he got there seperately).

I guess if Spectra managed to steal “Neo Hydranoid” and made him into “Vexos Hydranoid”, Exedra would help instead of Apollonir.

Hades would presumably be replaced with a Mechanical Bakugan based on Ultimate Dragonoid, although not necessarily Pyrus.

Because of the lack of a Pyrus Resistance member, Drago might get the Pyrus Energy anyway (although he’d be evolving from Ultimate Dragonoid, not Neo Dragonoid), and Preyas would get the Aquos Energy (if that evolution creates another Bakugan, who gets it? or do they get half each?). I guess Hydranoid would get the Darkus Energy over Percival?

In Gundalian Invaders because of the whole “direct descendant of Genesis Dragonoid” thing Drago gets to come along.

Battle Brawlers episode 38 AU

Masquerade wins, but the Infinity Core’s positive energy purifies him and Hydranoid.

May lead into a full AU at some point.

I went through every brawl where an Attribute Energy is at stake, there is literally no reason for Elfin to lose the Aquos Energy in episode 35. (Also, four of the Resistance lose their Attribute Energy in the first battle it’s at stake, and Shun and Ace only ever defend theirs with help from Klaus, Skyress or Baron.)

New Vestroia episode 35 AU

Marucho losing the Aquos Energy this episode breaks the rules of losing them in every other episode.

So I realised recently Nemus’ evolution (which is never named in the dub, the “Saint” prefix comes from the sub) has an Ability called Divine Light, which has the same revival effect as Lars Lion’s Sagittarius Arrow

Expanding on this, the other Attribute Energy evolutions should’ve had Abilities with the same effect as the Ancient’s (Wilda getting a boost-copying Ability like Atomic Brave, Percival getting an ally-power-draining Ability like Demon Wizard)

Apollonir, Oberus and Frosch’s main Abilities have much more normal effects, though (boost, boost that only defeats one opponent, and weaken all opponents/boost, respectively) so I dunno what Drago, Ingram and Elfin would get

A couple more things

Spectra is able to use his Gauntlet to redirect getting dimension transported to near Dan’s Gauntlet rather than back to New Vestroia

He also uses it to record battle data

Lync’s first Gauntlet gets scrapped for parts to repair the Dimension Transporter, which makes it only able to transport people with Gauntlets

I think this is everything about how Gauntlets work?

I really love Gauntlets, especially with a Fusion Ability Card literally sliding on top of the base Ability Card.

Also except for size I guess, they’re objectively superior to BakuMeters, since they can do everything they can and more.
