Okay, but Drakengard 3 and FE3H is a combination I didn’t know I needed until now!

I wanted to draw something zero-esque of rhea, it ended up differently than what I originally thought of but I found that drawing her is pretty satisfying

If you think about it, Silver Snow is the route where Byleth rejects the one who has been lying to them and feeding them false information. They then go on to be the real underdog of the war, not having the armies of the Kingdom, Alliance at their back. Just a resistance force against the woman who is trying to subjugate the entire continent and her associates who manipulated Fodlan from the shadows.

It ultimately leads to the freeing the woman Byleth can have the the deepest connection with pre-timeskip from their grasp, and defeating those who tormented her and killed her family. It culimates with her losing herself because of the trauma she's underwent, and having to fight her to save Fodlan. If the player has a strong enough bond with her, she can be saved and even work to atone for what she's done. Most of the truth are revealed. SS is everything people thought CF was going to be.

Wrt Sylvain and Miklan, I think the game fails to differentiate between "still a son just not the heir" and "not a son at all" with Miklan's status. Like we see non-crest bearers having active roles in society, such as Rufus, Rodrigue's brother, Gilbert etc. It's likely Miklan was being primed for a non-inheritance related job, and was disowned three years before the game for his abuses

That’s the impression I got considering all of the information. 

It’s extremely hard to believe Miklan got literally everything taken away from him. He may not have a grand inheritance like Sylvain, but he’s still upper class with a home. Caspar is in a similar position but he didn’t try to kill his brother, so it’s sounds very much like a him problem.

In general, I can’t jive with how the game tries to make him feel a little sympathetic either. He was in a place of privilege, regardless of whether or not he had a crest. He was already a petty murderer who tried to kill his brother a bunch of times, but ever since the Abyss DLC it’s also revealed he ransacks towns and abducts women.

It’s hard to feel pity for someone like that because “Crests may be bad!!!” and “He had good leadership skills though!”, like who cares? I mean, Yuri basically says that just having a Hero’s Relic can turn a guy like Miklan into a knight, and that’s the last thing anyone needs.

I get that it would probably suck having what seems like your future stripped away from you, but it says more about the person than the deed if “murder your brother” is the solution they come up with.

Also, I really agree with @ezralahm’s take on the Margrave as “implied to be a bit of a political 3D chess player”. I definitely got this feeling when the kingdom soldier was updating the group on the situation back in the kingdom before “Our Chosen Paths” saying that the Margrave “has taken it upon himself to bring order back to our troubled territory while His Highness is away”. I don’t doubt his love of country given how Gautier and Fraldarius were leading the resistance against Cornelia, but the way it is phrased certainly sounds like a bit of political jockeying as well (making it seem like a favor to the king by emphasizing dealing w/ the problem while Dimitri is away, especially since Dimitri then responds that he is “truly in the Margrave’s debt”). In my own interpretation, I think for the Margrave, his ambitions and goals (usually regarding defense of his territory via a crested heir and perpetuation of the family line) are at the forefront of his mind, and everything else is second, but not that he was intentionally/purposefully abusive (like how Miklan was only disowned after repeatedly trying to kill Sylvain and not explicitly because he was crestless even though that was certainly a factor in his violent behavior). 

Post timeskip in AM Sylvain actually speaks fondly of his father at least twice in cutscenes. I cant remember the chapters but I remember he speaks about how his father was doing good work helping hold the Kingdom together against the Empire and at one other point affectionally refers to him as his old man and asks a messenger if his father seemed well. Sylvain is supposed to be a character that hides his true feelings on people though so maybe it doesnt mean much

Those are the lines I was referring to when talking about how Margrave Gautier was holding the resistance together. It’s hard to tell how good of a father he really is, but at least he’s reasonably competent and unlike Rodrigue has the wisdom to never appear onscreen so he can get killed off in an inspiring way.

I don’t get it either.

As someone who’s exclusively attracted to guys, I just don’t see the appeal.

Is it because he’s hot? Idk, to me he’s alright looking, but not my type whatsoever. If he were real I’d sock him in the jaw for his horrid personality.

Anyone who hates women like that just radiates small dick energy. His one (1) gay ship does nothing for me, it just makes me feel bad for Felix.

It’s weird because he’s the exact type of person people would despise in real life. I’m not one to bring real life morality into fandom and fiction, and I’m all for stanning/thirsting after problematic favs, but I just can’t see anything appealing about him at all.

Except his voice, I guess, but that’s more how good Joe Brogie was than anything good about Sylvain.
