sometimes i do think white dsmp fans need to be a little more careful when it comes to the characters and how they talk about them.

like, with only a couple exceptions, the characters are played by white people. even if the character has a fantasy skin color, they're still played by white people and in this particular medium, it's not as if any of them were attempting to 'code' the characters as anything other.

there's an issue with like. white people in general trying to use fantasy characters as an allegory for racism that has a lot of problems for very obvious reasons. and i see that sometimes in the dsmp fandom with characters with fantasy skin color. characters like c!awesamdude and c!ranboo are drawn with fantasy skin colors but they're not even played as allegories and they're played by white people. so when you try to push a narrative of racism against these characters, it really can come off as invalidating and minimizing.

basically, my point is, implying racism towards a character that isn't coded as non-white, that's played by white people, and isn't facing systematic oppression is like. not great. and we should definitely be more careful about that sort of thing, honestly.
