I will update the post to reflect both versions. Mettle as in “proceeding in a resilient way”, and Metal as it is his Iron Will that keeps him going.

Once we get a confirmed spelling, I will update it to just the one!

The Relic? Gone. Atlas? On the brink. And Salem? She’s real. And she’s here. 

Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang and the rest of our heroes find themselves trapped. On one side, they’re fugitives and former allies are now enemies. On the other, Grimm. Salem and her forces are on Atlas’s doorstep and if Atlas falls, the rest of the world won’t be long after. The battle draws near and it’ll take a united front if there’s any hope of victory, but that’s easier said than done when united is something Remnant has never been.

The Team on “Buff Technology”

While it would be super cool to let the girls and anyone else be buff, they can’t do it immediately! Their first character they experimented with was Elm Elderne, and they’re excited to introduce more of that into the RWBY series.

For the main crew, it’ll be a slow change if they introduce “buff technology” onto the characters. Although they know it is widely wanted in the fandom, they know they have to wait, but they are fully on board with everyone esle!

Ironwood and Watts Semblances

Watts has no semblance. He learnt basic self defense, but didn’t really see the point in training to unlock his semblance when he could do so much already without one.

Ironwood has a semblance. His Passive Semblance is named “Metal/Mettle”. it fuels his iron resolve/will and powers his very stubbornly narrow mindset on things that he’s decided to do; such as beating Watts and being so determined that he scraped the skin off of his arm during the fight.

How Would the Cast React to Meeting their Characters?

Lindsey - “I have two kids already, I need you to calm down. Or we could bake together, yeah! That would work.”

Kara - “I’d have her taking me shopping.. Because I’m not very good at shopping or fashion. I gave you your voice, now give me your credit card.”

Arryn - “We would probably not even talk. All we would do is sit together, reading books and sipping tea. Who needs words?”

Barbara - “We would have a pun off. At some point it would become competitive and we’d start butting heads. We could ride a motorcycle together!”

Miles - “We’d get up, hit the gym and have a gym sess from this guy who went from noddle to buff. Maybe hit up the movies since he likes movies and inviting people to go to movies.”

Kerry - “We’d play video games and be awkward.”

RWBY Coffee- Huntress Blend! Produced by an all-women company! They saw this as important since the show is based off of all of these strong female leads, and they felt it was only right to highlight a company that enpowers women.

Stated by one of the writers that it makes a cameo in the show at some tiny point.

“We’re one third of the way through animating volume 8, and for the next one third... we’re going to let Arryn animate it.” - After they were joking about the VAs picking up extra work as animators.
