Marrow and Ciel's son. Anga is extremely intelligent and possesses an unstoppable drive to prove his worth. He's a serial overachiever and seeks to be the best possible huntsman he can be, wishing to impress his parents. Despite his endless zeal and overwhelming self-confidence, he’s quite soft-spoken and reserved, often making others that don’t know him personally see him as an inspiration, and those that do know him see him as a complete goober. His glasses contain advanced Atlas tech, allowing him easy access to information, and a powerful computing system that he can use to analyze data and hack other systems, making him excellent at formulating plans. Anga is a skilled hand-to-hand fighter and wields a pair of gloves that can project surfaces of hard-light dust, enabling him to create shields and other simple hard-light constructs to aid him in combat, such as shooting hard-light bullets by making a finger-gun gesture. His Semblance, Dust Jacket, allows him to absorb Dust and integrate it across his Aura, enhancing it with that Dust type’s properties, like setting himself on fire with Fire Dust or creating stone armor with Stone Dust.

"I completely forgot." Lumi whispered to herself, watching as Touko put herself further between Azrael and her students.

"About what?" Ken asked, still struggling to pull himself to his feet, knowing they only had a few moments before a fully fledged Huntress and a monster in human form started to go all out against each other. Lumi pulled Kenneth's arm over her shoulder, gritting her teeth as she worked through the pain to help him stand up.

"That my professor is a veteran of the Vale Reclamation Campaign."

It was easy to forget with how little Touko or her parents spoke about the days after Beacon had fallen, but seeing her professor like this made it clear in her mind that the woman before her was no less of a Huntsman than the heroes she had grown up idolizing.

"When it came time to fight back the Grimm that had taken over Beacon after its fall, spawning from the river of ooze that flowed from the petrified corpse of the Wyvern, my mother and father fought on the front lines to take back the school. Despite everything, she was right there alongside them."

Despite Mercedes Calavera's unusual family dynamic, coming from parents already in their twilight years and having an older sister who was a highly advanced combat android she turned out shockingly well adjusted, Mercy acts nonchalant, carefree, adventurous, and somewhat smug & cocky; but understands her responsibility as a Silver-Eyed Warrior seeing it as both a blessing and a curse as while the gift can help her be a better Huntress it's yet another reminder that some people will only see her as an extension of her Mother's legacy, even down to her DNA. She wields a Kusarigama named Truth & Consequences as her weapon. The circumstances of her birth do raise several questions, as by the time she was born, Maria was thought to be far too old to produce a child.

A dog Faunus, her trait is a pair of fluffy, droopy ears, replacing her normal human ones. Whiskey is very well-behaved and ladylike, and is conscious of letting her canine tendencies get the better of her manners. Whiskey grew up in Atlas to decently well-off parents, but constantly faced discrimination due to her Faunus status, making her feel a bit outcast. Is best friends with Belka. Whiskey wields Idris, a naginata combined with a dust-powered flamethrower, and her Semblance, Leash, grants her the ability to tether herself to a single object within a 20-meter radius, provided she has an uninterrupted direct line of sight towards it. Whiskey’s Aura drains constantly so long as she is tethered, and the amount of Aura she loses per second depends on whether she is trying to hold the object back or just cling to it, how much kinetic energy the object has, etc. Furthermore, she can also involuntarily detach the “tether” if she loses concentration. Whiskey alludes to the European culture hero Gambrinus.

Howdy everyone! Got a different sort of update than usual with some fanfiction! Despite not coming from one of the members of our more private community I wanted to put a spotlight on these works by Breaker_Of_Canon over on AO3 as we feel it's super cool that he was inspired enough by our work! to make fics of his own based on it. Neon and Oscar's son, conceived before his absorption into the Ozma gestalt. Ken is a cat Faunus who possesses a tail as his trait, and has a bubbly and hyperactive personality like his mother. He behaves rather "cutely" and is always very curious and inquisitive. Ken entered Atlas Academy a year earlier due to his skill. Ken's biological father Oscar was absent throughout his childhood, only leaving Neon with child support payments. Despite this he is eager to meet him one day and get to know him. He wields a sword-cane named “Kilkenny” in combat, and his Semblance, Rewind, allows him to rewind time in his immediate vicinity by up to 4 seconds, although it burns Aura equivalent to the amount of time rewound, almost completely draining him in an instant when used to its maximum. Furthermore, anyone affected by Rewind is able to remember events that occurred in the time that was reversed, ala Mandom from Steel Ball Run, meaning that particularly quick-witted opponents can anticipate rewinds and work around them. Alludes to the Kilkenny cats, a pair of legendary cats.

Jin's little brother, and Liang's younger fraternal twin. Due to a birth defect, his eyes are extremely photosensitive. Guang is a hypebeast who behaves dramatically and somewhat narcissistically, and has an interest in fashion. He loves to party and never takes off his sunglasses, even indoors, because they’re “part of his brand”. In truth, Guang is a sheltered epileptic who overcompensates in his desire to be a normal kid by going to parties and engaging in petty drama, all while trying to hide his true, exceedingly insecure self. Out of the Belladonna-Xiao-Long twins, he is the more academic and creatively-inclined one. His Semblance, Event Horizon, allows him to create fields of darkness reaching up to absolute darkness by preventing light from passing, which is extremely useful in disorienting opponents through sudden blindness, and stealth via effectively nullifying visual identification. Alludes to Mizaru, the First Wise Monkey who sees no evil.

Jin's little sister, and Guang's elder fraternal twin. Naturally a monkey Faunus like her brothers, Liang is near-deaf due to a birth defect, and thus communicates primarily via sign language, but she isn't discouraged easily and has an adamant, outgoing outlook towards life. Of the Belladonna-Xiao-Long twins, she’s the more easygoing, relaxed, and adventurous one. She and her twin brother don't always get along and can argue quite frequently, but as twins they’re still extremely close. Liang wields Harvest Festival, a mechashift shotgun-scythe, inspired by the design of her Aunt Ruby’s weapon, whom she admires and is very close with. Her Semblance, Axis, allows her to create small gravitational fluxes which can rotate objects at incredible speeds in a manner akin to planetary rotation or an invisible version of the Rasengan technique from Naruto, allowing her to swing and throw Harvest Festival very quickly in a manner akin to the Prop and Shredder moves from DMC, and quickly rotate herself along an axis to reposition herself. Alludes to Kikazaru, the Second Wise Monkey who hears no evil.

Is Lao asexual? He genuinely seems like he has no interest in the opposite sex in ways that are healthy for a young man like him. Or is it just he's hard repressed all those kinds of feelings for so long that he doesn't know what arousal and whatnot even feels like?

It has less to do with his sexuality than the level of control he maintains over himself. Lao feels those urges just like everyone else. Of course being on a team with 3 attractive young women naturally means he suffers because of it.

Akato is the son of a wealthy Mistralian clan and was extensively trained to be the best tournament fighter in Mistral. His family placed extreme expectations upon him, expecting him to surpass Pyrrha Nikos' legendary 4-time win streak at the Mistral Regional Tournament. Unable to achieve these lofty goals and only managing to win twice in two separate years, his father imposed a temporary exile from the clan, only allowing Akato to return when he was deemed strong enough. His Semblance is called "Pyrochronos", allowing him to reverse the flow of time on anything that’s on fire for upwards of 5 minutes (eg, the object reverts to where it was upwards of five minutes ago). Akato makes use of two weapons, with his primary weapon being a black traditional Mistrali spear dubbed "Tonbogiri'' that bursts into flames at the blades via a fire Dust mechanism. It can theoretically load a variety of other dust types, but he solely uses fire Dust out of principle. His other weapon is a giant longbow dubbed "Fujin Yumi" that fires colossal arrows, accomplished via its string being compounded with Gravity Dust, propelling them at extreme velocity. Furthermore, he can fire Tonbogiri from Fujin Yumi, making use of both weapons properties for maximum impact, at the cost of having to manually retrieve Tonbogiri from the impact site.
