Hi jae!! saw your piece at the media art event for SSS and I wanted to ask did it take long to come up with?

hi!! between the two pieces i did, my original piece (the one of my characters) didn’t take long to come up with, i wanted to draw the two when they were younger, and the one of two time i thought of doing it for my birthday actually!!

Once again thinking about lover boy Ratio and emotionally constipated Aventurine and I want to share my thoughts about their first date that i cooked up in my evil little head, so hear me out:

Ratio asks Aventurine first, formally asks him face to face no text or phone call, and he confirms at least twice that they are, in fact, going on a romantic date- Aventurine laughs and picks on him a little bit saying how cute it is that he's excited, but really, Aventurine isn't expecting it to be a whole thing. He's thinking Ratio will come over, they'll put on some netflix show neither one of them want to watch, and Aventurine will show him a good time. Surly that's all Ratio wants, right?

But then when its time for them to go out, Ratio walks up to his front door (even though Aventurine absolutely lives in a penthouse bro had Aventurine buzz him in so he could properly great him at the door) and he's dressed all nice and he brings him flowers and Aventurine is like " :D....?" like oh wow thank you that's so sweet i....wasn't expecting that..." and Ratio is like "I have everything planned so don't worry about a thing, shall we?" and like holds out his arm all corny to lead Aventurine to the car and Aventurine is still kinda laughing like no way he's seriously taking somebody like me out on an actual date

and then Ratio opens his car door for him and pulls out his chair at the restaurant they go to and he's just such a little gentleman trying to court Aventurine, and the whole time Aventurine is just internally panicking like "what...is he playing at ?? any date i've ever been on has started with the guy snap chatting me to come downstairs or honking his horn until i come outside, and it ended with me getting kicked out of their house when they were done with me, nobody has ever been so gently romantic...and come to think of it...have i ever been on an actual date like this?"

Then Aventurine ofc begs Ratio to let him pay but Ratio is like "no, i asked you on this date so its only fair that i pay" and he pays the bill and then takes Aventurine to do something sweet like walk along the pier or sit and talk at the park and at this point Aventurine is just whipped, he's like "there's no way he's being this nice to me for no reason he must wanna do some FREAKY shit when we get home, that must be why he's buttering me up like this, that makes a lot of sense idk why I didn't think of that in the first place" and when they get back home to Aventurine's apartment, he's ofc convinced himself Ratio was wining and dining him so that he could tap it, and he immediately puts on his peacock persona trying to set the mood, but Ratio doesn't even properly kiss him- he just kisses his hand or his cheek and tells him that he'd love the opportunity to take him out again, and then he leaves.

And Aventurine is just standing there, with the flowers Ratio got him being the only splash of color in his kitchen, staring at the back of the door, hand on his cheek where Ratio just kissed him like "what...just happened?"

i've seen multiple people make this mistake but Aventurine/Avgins are NOT based on Romanians. they are based on the Romani people. two different ethnic groups. Many Romani people were historically enslaved in Romania, actually. i would also argue that it isn't a tasteful depiction of romani people considering the word for 'sigonian' in CN is derived from an anti-romani slur

in other non iwwo related news. this was my 6th 50/50 win in a row, i just got tribbie, the herta, sunday and his lightcone, etc. i was like 30 pity??? meanwhile on genshin i just got furina 79 pity and lost her weapon so now i have to panic and make sure my fate point doesn’t go to waste. mydei apparently wanted me.
