Wasn’t that how it was though? Dogs are like our babies. We want to spoil them and make sure they have everything they need. No matter how many toys they already have, we still see something and think it would be perfect for them. Ryder knew he was that way with his dogs. Especially when they gave that look of please and with big eyes. They didn’t know each other but Ryder wanted to be friendly and not just walk out ignoring the man if he needed help. “Where is home? You just moved here to Kismet? Sounds like they really enjoyed those. I can picture that the horse running full throttle into the beach ball, watching it bounce away and going after it again. Like a large dog basically.”he chuckled with a smile. “Memories are the best thing too. Thinking back on the wonderful times. Im sure a vacation is in your future to go back and see them? Wild dog? You got him running around somewhere?”he teased with a chuckle.

Ever since he started seeing Finn, getting to know him, and building a relationship together, he found himself hanging out at Paws and Beyond after his shifts and even when he had a free moment. He helped Finn out by doing some needed work around or even assisting the customers. When it came to checking out or even adoption, he left that to the real professionals. He didn’t want to feel like he was overstepping their jobs or even that he was stepping on Finns toes in any way. Ryder was leaving Finn’s office and heading out when he spotted someone checking out the livestock and horse materials. He walked down the aisle. “Thinking of getting items for your horse? Or thinking of adopting a horse and stocking up?”he asked.

Being a dad came first. His family, baby Erik came first, Ryder knew that and he wasn’t going to get upset over Benny taking a few days for himself, to get back on his feet, and even get baby Erik into a routine and welcomed into his new home. Ryder would be over as much as he could to help Benny. Whatever he needed, he was going to be there for his best friend. He smiled and let out a chuckle. That’s the Jackson family. Always looking out for one another. “I kinda had a feeling it was. Well, you can add someone else to that list too. Me! I’m going to make sure that you’re taken care of and well fed too. Along with baby Erik here. Uncle Ryder is going to take good care of the both of you.”he said softly to Erik and for Ben to hear too.

“You miss my puppy dog faces? Well no need to worry they are back and better than ever for you.”he said giving Benny his signature puppy dog face and eyes too.

Ryder didn’t and would not hold this over Ben’s head. He had a son. He was a daddy. Being a daddy to baby Erik was his main and first priority. Ryder could wait patiently for him to call or text. He was never going to ask Benny to over look the needs and wants of his son. Even getting back into the routine of things, he knew it would take a while but he could do it. He had his support and wasn’t going anywhere. “Sounds delicious. I’m glad to hear my best friend is eating healthy and making time to eat too.”he said with a smile as he took the bottle of water from Ben. “My not so innocent face has missed you too. I know you especially missed my puppy dog faces.” “You’re busy. I get it. Also it goes both ways too: I should have reached out. But, we’re making time.”he smiled with a laugh. Today, Teddy was at Paws & Beyond getting some things for his dog Loki. Just more food, and he was looking at some toys. He had the food, toys, and ended up with a few chew bones in his cart. He moved on and saw the section for horses and livestock, and moved over to look. No, he had no horse; he hadn't since he left for college. But he still had a love of horses and being on a ranch in the back of his mind. He looked over a nice leather halter and smiled as he moved on to look at the horse toys. Large balls with a handle for the horse to chew on and bite, one of his favorite toys, are on his horse's back at home. He knew that at the ranch back home, he had horses; he could go to ride and be with them, but he knew he didn't want to go back there yet. He wasn't made to be on the ranch he left. He had been gone so long now, going back, he felt so out of place and guilty for leaving.

Ryder had some good friends here in Kismet. He was close with everyone. Especially Finn. He didn’t see an age difference between them, that didn’t matter and it wasn’t something that Ryder thought about at all. Finn was a great guy, he made him smile, laugh, was handsome, sexy, and even made Ryder feel sexy and wanted. They had so much in common with one another that it wasn’t hard to have long conversations with each other. They did get distracted with checking one another out, hands roaming over their bodies, making out, and being sexy and sexual with one another. They had love for one another that would never go away. Ryder wouldn’t stay long, he could see the tired look on Mack’s face. She had just given birth and it was a tiring experience. He took a guess from some calls they had been on and even listening to stories. “Mack. Now, you cannot be surprised that I’m here to see you. You’re my big sister, you and the entire family mean a lot to me, and I had to come and see the sweet new baby.”he smiled setting the basket and handmade plaque down on the bedside table. “So I’ve heard before that my adorable face brightens up everyone’s day.”he smirked grabbing a chair and sitting next to the bed. “I did. I can’t come empty handed. I sometimes put myself first, but you know those who matter a lot to me, my close friends, family and family at the firehouse always will come first. After that I’m next.”he said before admiring baby Anna.

Ryder had a nurturing spirit. He cared about those around him, those that mattered most to him, when someone was in trouble or needed help, Ryder was there. He could be sick or in pain but his feelings didnt matter. He would worry about himself later on. Ryder knew that Mack might be tired and wanted to get some sleep, which he would allow her to get. It would be a quick visit, he wanted to be sure to give his gifts, see Mack and catch up, and even gush over baby Anna. Ryder heard Macks voice welcoming him in. He poked his head in and smiled at her. "Hey there, big sis and new mommy. How are you feeling? I brought some gifts for you, Ethan and Anna." he smiled.

Ben smiled softly as he watched Ryder hold Erik. Erik was a great kid and he was not too fussy with people. He was glad for the company, Ben had been going out more with Erik stopping by the restaurant just to get updates. He was thankful for his employees because they were great at their jobs and he did not have to worry. The chef still not could leave his kid alone with anyone. It was hard for him. "Would you like to drink Ryder or eat?" he asked softly. "Also, how have you been?"

Ryder smiled when Ben said that he was correct. He knew him and his family well. He knew that his mom was going to take care of Benny and his place as Benny took care of baby Erik. Most moms would be the same way, some though would take the baby allowing the new parents to get some rest and worry about themselves for a while. She would make sure that Ben was fed and had plenty to eat. Erik's mom from what Benny told him, had her reasons of why she wasn't going to be in his life. It was sad but baby Erik will have so much love from everyone that came to see him. "That would be a perfect gift for him. For his birthday. "

Focus all your attention on him, while she does the cooking and cleaning and anything else that she can think of while she’s here. That’s the way that moms are. Even made sure Benny and his siblings had everything that they needed. “When he gets older, you can teach him everything that you learned in the kitchen. He can be your mini sou chef. Get him a little apron and chef hat too.”

Mack though tired from labor and having a baby, she didn't want to sleep, she wanted to relish in her baby for as long as she could. Ryder smiled at the other. To Ryder who was an animal lover it was inhumane to leave them in the car while quickly running into the store to grab something. Even if it was for a few seconds and would be right out, it was not right. "I bet he gave you those adorable goat eyes and said take me with you. Don't leave me here with these other animals. He does look very friendly. Besides you're not letting him loose and to his own devices." he smiled. Ryder chuckled. "Alright well there was a lady who had a high heel stick in her cheek, someone got wrapped up in the car wash, and then the best one of all was that someones neighbors were having a party, they had multiple strobe lights and they thought it was si-fi related." he said.

Ryder didn’t mean to stare. He really didn’t. It wasn’t the first weird thing that he saw around Kismet Harbor before and he was sure that it wouldn’t be the last. Especially being a firefighter, they had some weird calls that they went on. This didn’t faze him. Ryder shook his head with a smile. “Better than keeping him in your car or truck. Besides he’s a little cutie and deserves to be shown off.”he smiled. “Honestly it’s not the first weird thing I’ve seen today.”

Baby Visit

Ryder was excited to hear that baby Anna was born to Mack and Ethan. Mack and Ryder had a close older "brother sister" relationship since Ryder worked alongside Mack at the firehouse. He knew when she was pregnant and was excited for her and Ethan. They were a great couple and amazing parents. He only wished and hoped that when the time came for him to be a dad and even give his love to someone, that he could have all the happiness and love they did. Ryder decided after his shift that he would stop by the hospital to see baby Anna, Mack and Ethan. He stopped by his apartment to shower and change before making his way to the hospital. Ryder found out which room they were in. He knocked softly on the door. @makaylahoffmann

"You would know it's not me. I would do things totally different and I would be acting not myself. I wouldn't be this quirky, adorable man that you see here today. My cute adorable face too. He made complete sense. He knew Ryder inside and out, so if anything was off with him, he would be able to tell. He nudged Ben back with a smile and chuckle. "Your mom is going to be the first one to kick you out of the kitchen to use to first. I'm just saying." he smiled. "When baby Erik arrives, shes probably not going to want to leave. Shes going to want to stay to help you with everything."

Dean had always been someone who could never say no when a friend asked him for a favor. So when one of his buddies asked him to lend an extra hand taking care of a weaker young goat of his, he didn't hesitate to accept. The only problem was that he was already overworked as it was, so time that was supposed to be spent 'monitoring' the condition of the goat quickly turned into 'taking the goat to run errands' with him. He could still monitor the animal while also getting some things he needed done during the week, but it wasn't without the occasional weird look from people passing him on the street as he carried a small goat in his arms. "What?" he asked as he saw someone looking at them, "You've never seen a grown man carry his goat around a CVS before?" he asked, smiling after he'd asked as he clearly hadn't been serious.
