I was going to embroider a rose or something in the corner of this handkerchief, but then I realized I could do a wizard, so obviously I did a wizard.

once again, garam found himself wanting to tell angel he was being too nice to him but he'd used that line so many times at this point, he knew exactly how angel would react, what he would say. so he kept that thought to himself no matter how much he believed he really didn't deserve the kindness angel was giving. he was still baffled that angel didn't pit any of the blame for what happened on garam. in his head, there was so much he could have done to stop what happened from happening. he blamed himself, so how could angel not blame him? he found himself wanting to start crying again, his eyes beginning to sting but he fluttered them while looking upwards in an attempt to keep them from welling up. at mention of the bubble bath, though, he let out a sharp laugh and looked at angel again. "i have to be honest— if we get in that tub right now," he begun, lifting his hand up to stroke against angel's chest, "i'm going to end up making a fool of myself again." as much as he wanted it, garam really didn't want to use the tub as a setup to fool around with angel again but after everything angel had said, how dedicated he seemed to be in making things work between them, garam, to put it simply, was just so turned on. like his heart had a direct connection to his dick; every compliment, every word of affirmation, every reassurance, every moment he felt the other's love, whenever somebody made him swoon, all he wanted to do was throw his body at them for free use. "before we do anything," garam stopped himself, teeth sinking into his lower lip. his brows furrowed as he stepped away from the window, not exactly putting space between the two of them but more so moving his body so he was standing in front of angel now. "since— since we're communicating a-and being honest... there's something i think i should show you." if he hadn't found out these things about angel that he was specifically keeping a secret, garam was sure he wouldn't feel the need to disclose the other avenues he made money with. he reached into his back pocket and pulled his phone out, ignoring the slew of notifications that still seemed to be pouring in to open up his web browser. "you know i'm basically chronically online, it's how i earn a living." he didn't openly advertise his onlyfans account very often, he just kept the link nestled away in the cache of links to all of his social media accounts. he'd paste the link in when he posted mildly spicy content but that was pretty much it. he quickly logged into his account and handed his phone over to angel so he could look through it, himself. now, garam truly had no clue if it was something angel knew about, he never noticed the man's name in his list of subscribers — not that he was expecting to see it to begin with — so he figured angel just didn't know the account existed. "if it's something you're not comfortable with me doing, i'll stop." all of the content on his account were solo shots where he'd either be flouncing around and showing off his body, there were shorter clips of him pleasuring himself, or videos saying or doing things specially requested. though he did have somebody there who was filming or taking photos, helping him out of ties or handcuffs in the end, but the transaction was always professional between the two of them. "or," he emphasized in a soft sing-song tune. "if it's something you want to help me with, i wouldn't mind that either. i'd probably get more subscribers if you were involved." obviously, because angel was so damn fine, he knew his viewership would increase. "but no pressure," he had to add in so angel knew it was completely okay if he didn't want anything to do with it.
Angel didn’t speak for a long moment—not because he didn’t have anything to say, but because everything Garam had just said hit him harder than he’d expected. Still capable of being loved, maybe—even if they both were still learning how to accept it. Their shoulders were still just barely touching, that fragile point of contact like a thread between them. But when Garam’s arm wrapped around him, settling warm and firm against his hip, it felt like permission. Not forgiveness, not yet, but the start of something real. Something earned. Angel didn’t pull away. Instead, he leaned into it, just slightly, letting himself feel the weight and intention of Garam’s touch. His hand drifted down without thought, fingers brushing along Garam’s wrist, light but grounding. He listened to it all—the honesty, the self-awareness, the defiance that bloomed like iron beneath the softness of Garam’s tone. The warning about cheating, delivered so plainly Angel nearly smiled despite the heaviness in his chest. “I wouldn’t,” he said, quiet but firm. “I won’t.” And maybe it didn’t mean much yet. Maybe words were just words until they were backed by time and action and the million tiny choices that built something worth keeping. But Angel meant it. God, he meant it. “I will say, I need to be your boyfriend to be able to cheat on you…I don’t want to be another person who breaks something in you,” Angel continued, his voice lower now, his breath brushing against Garam’s temple as he shifted a little closer. “I don’t want to be someone you have to recover from.” He let out a slow breath, eyes drifting out over the city once more. The lights blurred slightly, the way they did when emotion pushed too hard against his control. “We will work on this together. I’m not always the best at communicating” Angel admitted. “I’ve spent so long keeping people at arm’s length that sometimes I don’t realize when I’ve started doing it to the ones who matter. I thought I was protecting you—us—but maybe I was just protecting myself.” His fingers tightened slightly around Garam’s wrist, not possessive, just holding on. “You have every right to walk if I ever become someone who hurts you like that. I know what you’ve been through. With Axel, with everything else. I won’t add to that.” He tilted his head just enough to look at Garam now, really look at him. And in his eyes, the brown was softer. Not dimmed, but tempered—less like fire, more like sunrise. “And for the record, I don’t think you’re bad at relationships,” Angel said. “I think you’ve had to love in difficult places. And you’ve kept trying anyway. That says more than all the perfect love stories people like to pretend they have.” There was a pause, and then Angel smiled—small, sincere, and a little bittersweet. “Besides, I don’t need perfect. I just want you. Angry, sarcastic, messy, moody, kind-hearted you.” He leaned into the space between them a little more, letting his head dip so their brows nearly touched.“And if you want to drink, I won’t stop you. But I’ll be there. To take your phone when you try to text something stupid. To keep you hydrated. To make sure you don’t spiral.” A soft laugh. “I’ll be your very sober emotional support person.” His smile faded into something quieter. “Just don’t disappear. Not without letting me find you again. I can’t take it when you walk out. Go to another room but please don’t leave like our last fight.” Outside, the world continued spinning. Cars moved like lazy fireflies. The hum of life, constant and indifferent. Angel stood in front of Garam fighting what he had been since that morning, in the dressing room and even now. Letting out a breath he stepped back and leaned against the window. “Let’s, uh maybe watching some television? Or take that bubble bath”

seeing everyone just mindlessly sign up for threads despite all the clear warning signs feels like I’m living in Sailor Moon or a magical girl anime episode where the Monster of the Day just set up shop over night and their product is literally draining your lifeforce for the Dark Kingdom but people keep going there

Hiccup's expression matched Astrid's as she added logs to the fire. As she spread the blanket over him, he propped himself up on his elbow and took her hand. "Hey. It's going to be fine. Toothless, he'll go to the cove, just like we told him to."
Turning to Axel, Hiccup ducked his head, speaking at the same time as Astrid. "Yeah, uh--n-not really, no. Definitely not normal..."
"He's a..." Hiccup stifled a yawn. "A Night Fury."
Phlegma, who returned with Axel, gasped softly. "A Night Fury? Here?" The offspring of lightning and death itself, in her home? It hadn't shown an ounce of aggression!
She hummed in agreement. "An explanation is due." Then, she followed Axel out.
Hiccup let out a tired sigh, laying his head back. It seemed that his best friend's surprise appearance drained the two of them. Not that he wasn't glad to see Toothless, he was just terrified something would happen to him.
Returning Astrid's kiss, he said, "Good night. Thanks again, for everything. I'll...I'll see you in the morning."
He watched her go, his eyelids getting heavier, before falling back asleep.
🐟
"Alright, lad. Explain," Phlegma said sternly. "What is going on with that dragon?"
Breakfast had been served. Hiccup sat beside Astrid, in a regular chair this time, and her parents were across the table, waiting for him to answer.
So, he told them the truth. Just like how he told Astrid the other day, how he rescued Toothless from drowning and has been best friends ever since.
Phlegma came to the same conclusion Astrid had. "Remember when Snotlout swore he shot down a Night Fury, Axel?" Turning to the couple, she wagged a finger, "Still, fraternizing with dragons? They've killed hundreds of us! We can't just go about befriending them!"
"Why not?" Hiccup asked, his brows low and his tone becoming much more serious. "So, your kind have killed each other for years. Pain, loss, on both sides. What if you could end that war, without further bloodshed? Hm? What if you found out that dragons weren't too different from humans and merfolk?"
"Toothless is proof that they aren't all bad. That, that they understand us, that they feel the same things we do. I mean, look at me. You've heard the horror stories of what some merfolk tribes do. And yet, here I am, a guest in your home, and a grateful one at that. If you could accept me so easily, why not them?"
Phlegma stared him in the eyes, her expression hard. "Because I've seen with my own eyes what they're capable of."

After a long training session, all Astrid wanted to do was cool off on the beach. Maybe a tiny swim, even though the ocean was so cold at this time of year. She pushed through the brush and staggered down to the shore.
Only to find a boy lounging in the shallows.
“Oh!” She dropped her axe in the sand. From his bare torso, she assumed he was naked. “Sorry! I didn’t know someone else would be…here…” as the apologies flowed, she realized from the waist down, he had green scales and a pair of fins.
No wonder she hadn’t recognized him.
“No way…” she inched closer. “A real mermaid! In the flesh! Are the stories true?” She stamped down her overwhelming curiosity for a moment to give him a stern point. “Don’t try anything fishy, mermaid. I’m very capable of protecting myself, got it?”
((I saw the prompt and went feral, hope you don’t mind))
[X]
Hiccup started, the water around him splashing as he sat up straight in surprise, before he moved a little further back, his cheeks flushed.
"No, sorry, I, I shouldn't--" Ducking his head, the merman awkwardly held up a hand, "Usually no one comes here..."
But his movements only caused his tail to briefly break the surface, emerald scales glittering in the sun for a moment before dipping below the water again.
Firmly, he responded, "Merman. I am a merman. And no, don't worry, I, I wasn't going to try anything...I know you'd probably kill me if I did..."
Clearing his throat, he ran a hand through his hair, which had partially dried in his time sitting in the shallow water. "What, what stories are you referring to?"
He knew, or at least had a gut feeling about what she was asking, but he wanted to hear it from her. She appeared wary, but not fearful. Maybe these humans didn't have the same fears of his kind like the others?
