I made this wayy before the movie but I never got around to posting it. I mentioned it in my liveblog but I wanted to put it here

Okay so. I think I will be doing a liveblog of the Hilda movie so you all can witness me lose my mind over these rocks some more. It does release at 2am for me (CT) and I will (totally legally) record it beforehand for screenshots and stuff so it will probably be tomorrow morning or even afternoon. Also, depends on if my family will leave me alone tomorrow :))  I will watch it in the next 24hrs I stg.

I will be tagging the liveblog with #ryuu liveblog so y’all can filter it out if you want. I will also use these tags for this and anything else related to the movie for spoilers: #hilda spoilers, #hilda and the mountain king, and #hilda movie.

Another background troll I got attached to. They show up in S2E1 and nearly kill Hilda with a rock. They also show up in S2E13 with another rock. Hence why I call them ‘rock-throwing troll’. I know they aren’t the only one who yeets rocks at people but the name stuck.

I also love how when the two-headed troll is fighting another troll, they just dip out. Like, “Nope, not messing with that. He’s getting his ass kicked”. I love finding the little background interactions like that.

This is an old redraw of the trolls from the “Hilda and the Great Parade” cover. Trolls are usually neutral or angry in art and the show so when I saw some happy trolls I felt I had to redraw it.

THEM. A background troll I grew too attached to. One of the trolls by the campfire in the last episode of S2. Most notable moments being them tackling the two-headed troll over a piece of meat and then later helping save Hilda and Johanna from him. They even had one of his heads in a headlock. King shit.

Ok so I’m very dumb. For a bit after finishing S2 I thought that Baba’s mum was the troll from S1E5. They look the same ok?

This took wayy longer than expected. And this ^ is 80% of the reason why. The rest was the pose since I never was satisfied with it. I haven’t done proper perspective since high school (5+ years) so this was a learning process. Also there are like no screenshots I could find from this specific angle. And once again I found multiple inconsistencies in the actual show. The dining table seems to alternate between being right next to the counter to being on the carpet. Also the size of the living room and position of the couch seems to depend on what the plot needs lol.

Sorry for ghosting for...4 months. Especially to people who were waiting on stuff from me. It was a combination of this semester being the most difficult I have ever had, stress, art block, feeling really weird and insecure about my blog, and other stuff. I may start uploading the few things I have managed to doodle that I feel comfortable posting.
