Finished my Test Marine
Had this miniature for a while now, using it as a test for whatever scheme I decided on for my marine army. Well, I decided to do Salamanders, so here it is!
Happy enough with it. Only thing I don’t like is the left shoulder pad. Not a fan of transfers and I’m not good enough at free hand to paint it myself. I’d best get practising I guess!
With this guy finished, my count is sitting at:
Acquired: 67
Painted: 137
Thanks for stopping by!

Acquired: 67
Painted: 132
I’ll be finishing the last of them over the next few days, so stay tuned for an upcoming post!

Boys From The Dwarf!
Almost two years ago, I pre-ordered a batch of Red Dwarf miniatures from a small studio (then called Nexus Miniatures, now YFT Design Studio). They took forever to arrive but finally, about 2 months ago, they all arrived.
I’ve painted the first four crew members, Lister, Rimmer, Cat and Kryten. Now that these are finished, it’s time to start on the next four! More on those later!
Anyway, with those four now done, my count is up to:
Acquired: 67 Painted: 128
Almost at that 200% mark! Got plans to get through a lot in the next few months, need to clear some stuff out to make room for next years project!
As always guys, thanks for stopping by!

Here’s Some Vampires That Don’t Suck!
Today is a massive landmark for my painting projects. You see, when I first set up my painting station in this new house, I wrote out a list of projects that needed finishing. I’ve worked on them all and this vampire team was the final entry. They were fun to paint and I’m glad I changed my mind on the colour scheme.
So, with these finished, my count is up to:
Acquired: 67 Painted: 123
I need to paint eleven more models to put me at 200%! I’ve got a whole new list to write up though, with plenty more projects to crack on with! I’ll update you all once it’s finalised so you know what the next 5 months look like for me!
As always, thanks for stopping by!

Bravely Bold Sir Robin, Rode Forth From Camelot!<\b>
I’ve had these four minstrels and horse for over a year now, and man is it good to finally have them painted up. They’re nice enough models, and we’re easy enough to paint. Rather than painting them all bright green, which is how they’re painted on the website, I gave them the same colours that the minstrels wore when I performed Spamalot last year.
Anyway, with these five painted up, my total is now sitting pretty at:
Acquired: 67 Painted: 109
Next project is to finally get my old metal vampire team finished, so I can move onto some new projects!
As always guys, thanks for stopping by!

There’s Another Name You Might Know Me By...Starlord!
So, today I started and finished my Starlord model, and finally finished my Guardians of the Galaxy set. This makes me very happy, as they look ace all painted up, and it’s another item off my list!
Out of the set, my favourites were Rocket and Starlord. They’re really interesting models and I had a lot of fun with them. Gamora should have been more fun than she was, but the model I’ve it was a bad cast. Not a lot I could do with that. The Drax, whilst fun to paint the tattoos on, was boring to paint otherwise.
That’s now all my marvel stuff finished, and pushes my counts up to:
Acquired: 67 Painted: 104
At some point, I’d like to get a Green Goblin, a Groot and a few other models from the Knights range of Marvel stuff. Unfortunately, the fact they’re out of print means they’re way more expensive than I’m able to afford. Still, I can dream!
As always guys, thanks for stopping by!

The view is definitely better from behind
So, there I was, all settled on the sofa with my girlfriend, ready to continue our Marvel movie run (coincidentally, it was GOTG tonight) when half an hour in, she exclaims she is tired and needs to go to bed.
So, in a shocking twist, I decide to start painting the next of my Guardians of the Galaxy miniatures, Gamora. Three hours later and, wouldn’t you know it, I finished her.
Not quite as happy with this one but, to be fair, the model isn’t great, or at least mine isn’t. Lots of errors and lack of detail meant it was a real struggle to get it looking half decent. Despite that, I’m happy with the skin tone, the hair and the legs (and that booty!) so I can’t complain.
With that done, my total is now at
Acquired: 67 Painted: 103
I’m planning on getting Starlord painted tomorrow, so fingers crossed there should be another post soon!
As always guys, thanks for stopping by!

Draxic Measures!
Tonight I finished off the second member of my Guardians of the Galaxy team, Drax. He was a lot of fun to paint, and proved a lot easier than I first anticipated. With this finished, my count stands at:
Acquired: 67 Painted: 102
Only Gamora and Starlord to go now. Planning on getting them both done this weekend.
As always guys, thanks for stopping by!

Trash Panda!
”I live for the simple things…like how much this is going to hurt.” - Rocket Racoon
I’ve had the Marvel Knights GOTG set on my desk, built and primed for ages now, but yesterday I finally put some paint on the first member, Rocket Racoon.
I really enjoyed painting this guy, and I cannot wait to get the rest painted now.
My counts are now standing at:
Acquired: 67 Painted: 101
As always guys, thanks for stopping by!

Everybody’s Dead Dave
Nearly 2 years ago, I pre-ordered a set of Red Dwarf miniatures that we’re due to come out a few months later. The guy who ran the studio has had health issues, cease and desists, moulding issues, casting issues and god knows what else, and I had given up hope of ever getting the miniatures.
After what feels like 3,000,000 years though, they finally arrived. The models are gorgeous, and I cannot wait to get some paint on them. They’re even going on special themed bases!
With these guys added on, my count is now up to:
Acquired: 67 Painted: 99
Expect a flurry of posts in the coming days, I’m very excited about these.
As always guys, thanks for stopping by!

Scarecrow Completed!
I bought this lovely model back in April from a tiny independent shop in Brindlington. I didn’t have a plan for what I’d use it for, just thought it looked fun to paint and boy, was it fun to paint!
With that now finished, my counts are at:
Acquired: 53 Painted: 99
There will be a rather significant increase in my squires numbers in the coming days, but I’ll pop up separate posts for those as and when I get on with them.
As always guys, thanks for stopping by!

That’s All Folks!
In a bizarre twist of fate, I’ve just finished painting an army before I’ve even played an intro game of the system! The three bears (APC) were the last models to get done so I blasted them out this evening. I’m really really happy with how they all look together, not too shabby for my first 10mm experience!
With those three finished, my count stands at:
Acquired: 53 Painted: 98
Two models to go to hit that magic 100! What should I pick to be my centurion?
As always guys, thanks for stopping by!

Tanks For The Memories!
Well, talk about being on a roll! After hating the infantry so much I had said I wasn’t bothered about expanding this collection any further, as I didn’t want to have to paint anymore 10mm scale men. After painting the three dropships and 6 tanks though, I’m fully back on board with the idea of getting more stuff!
The vehicles are all really nice and you can put in as much or as little detail as you want. I’ve gone for less, going for the practical look. On this scale though, it works really well! I’ve got 3 of the transports to paint (only 2 of which I need currently) and then that’s everything done. Then I can plan how I’ll expand.
With these 6 painted up, my figures have rocketed to:
Acquired: 53 Painted: 95
5 miniatures to go until I’m in triple digits! Woooo!
As always guys, thanks for stopping by!

Drop, In The Name Of Love!
So I’ve spent a bit of time over the last couple of days getting my dropships painted for my DZC force. After the infantry, I was a bit down on the game but these have got me right back on track with it.
They were really fun to paint and have got me back in the mood, so joe I can’t sit to get some tiny tanks painted too! I’m on a bit of a mission to get all my random projects done before the end of the month, as the second half of this year I want to concentrate on getting some marines done.
Anyway, with those three finished, my count is now sitting at:
Acquired: 53 Painted: 89
If all goes according to plan, I’ll go over 100 before the end of the month!
As always guys, thanks for stopping by!

Like Painting a Gnats Right Bollock!
After months of ripping the piss out of @mikesbrushwork for painting 6mm stuff, he got his own back when he gave me a Dropzone commander force to sort out. I can honestly say, it’s never been more of a chore to get something painted. The 10mm scale is part of it but, if I’m honest, these plastic infantry aren’t that great. There’s almost zero detail, which makes it hard to make them look anything other than flat. I’ve seen the metal ones painted up and they look ace!
Still, they’re done now, and that puts my count up to:
Acquired: 53 Painted: 86
So, I’ve officially painted more so far this year than I did in the entirety of 2017. So that’s good!
As always, thanks for stopping by!

Whip it, Whip, Whip it, Whip it Real Good!
A while back I bought some double dial counters for my gaming group to use as victory point counters in 40k. It’s taken me a while to get round to decorating mine, but here it is! I think it’s suitably Dark Eldar.
So, with that now finished, my count is standing at:
Acquired: 53 Painted: 56
Planning on getting plenty done this month after a period of low productivity.
As always guys, thanks for stopping buy!
