The Gardener
The gardener mixed the soil
The gardener laid the seed
The gardened carefully watched the seed sprout
The gardener fed and watered the plant
The gardener picked away the threatening weeds
The gardener pruned the plant allowing its best parts to grow
The gardener enjoys the plant's flower's scent
The gardener admires the plant's beauty
The gardener goes away
The plant's beauty fades
The plant's scent sours
The plant's branches overgrow
The weeds overtake the plant
The plant thirsts for water and nutrients
Why did the gardener leave?
Without the gardener, the plant is lost
The plant searches for guidance and love like the gardeners.
No one can replace the plant's gardener.

Days in the Sun
My daddy and I spent days in the sun,
Mostly I'd talk and he'd listen a ton,
Day after day, the time that we spent,
Our time together, and how much it meant.
All of the days, turned into years,
But I'll always be, coming back here,
With yellow flowers, in hand to brighten his days
Hoping to feel his smile, through all the rays.
My daddy and I, and those days in the sun,
I'd tell him my day, and that I miss him a ton,
I'd polish the stone, tell him I'd be back soon,
The weeds that grew nearby, I'd gather and prune.
I have nothing more, than those days in the sun,
The stone angels nearby, missed not one,
Of our meetings together, my daddy and I,
And all but one, of our sweet goodbyes.
