I just want to sleep, for my body to relax into jelly
How can I train myself to stop absorbing stress?
How can I catch a break when everything meant to give me a future is holding me back?
What was the point of college degrees that leave me in debt for life, cause the work they were for won't hire by talent or skill- only networking and nepotism.
A machine cuts the numbers of applicants, including those overqualified. And the entry jobs want years of experience, so you lie or fight for paid internships.
No pension exists for the younger generations and hustle culture leads to an early grave.
My country tiz of thee, stronghold of slavery of thee I sing~ The abolitionists had it right. Nowadays the working class, the lifeblood of the nation, is crying out, burning out.
Maybe thinking of this is what keeps me from the oblivion of sleep? Maybe writing down these thoughts will free them from the cage of my mind?
The world shares bad news faster and more frequently than good. The mind can only process so much at a time. No human has the capacity to learn about, deeply care about, and formulate conclusions/opinions on every single topic, so we pick a few and try not to get swept away by other people's emotions.
Take a moment to be present in your body, feel every muscle contract, recognize your feelings, accept them and let them pass.
People are like rivers, constantly moving and changing in little ways, yet always the same river.
Maybe now I'm just rambling in my wannabe sleep journal? Well, thoughts are just thoughts unless you dwell on them long enough for them to turn to action.
But tonight I'm exhausted, so action will have to wait a bit.

Do you ever get that feeling just before depression hits, like my brain is unhappy today?
Sometimes, taking a day in nature with sunlight, vitamin B12, soothing sounds/music, organizing things, chatting with friends and simply existing outside of hustle culture helps me avoid the spiral and sometimes it doesn't.
I'm starting to thing my home country's only culture is to overwork and only chase money, which is bound to make unhappy brains everywhere.

Will you cut it out of me?
When will you cut it out of me?
If I try to cut it out myself would you finish the job?
How much will it cost me?
In years, in tears, in suffering...
Will you only operate if I can pay the bill?
Is life solely monetary?
What price is my life worth?
I want it out, I need it out before it spreads again.
How many lives will waste away before somebody cares?

“If I am killed, write about me and tell the world about my dreams”
The martyr, Reem Mahmoud Abu Daya. Reem's greatest fear was not death itself, but rather being remembered only as a statistic after being killed in the Israeli aggression.
She often told her friend Mohammed, "If I am killed, write about me and tell the world about my dreams. Tell them that I had undergone LASIK surgery a few months ago and started seeing Gaza with my own two eyes.
Tell them that I want to buy a camera to capture the beauty of Gaza."
Reem Mahmoud Abu Daya is not just a number; she will be remembered. Reem, along with her family, was martyred in an Israeli airstrike on January 7, 2024.

btw if you see people casting doubt on the efficacy of the week-long strike or other 'individual' striking actions, and you think those people have a point, that means "join a labor union and/or Marxist organisation and organise strike funds, links with other orgs, &c. in order to be ready for coördinated actions that more people will be able to take part in." it does not mean "well, this is useless, so we might as well do nothing"

Reminder that Palestinians in Gaza are being deliberately starved by Israel. Families in gaza are boiling plant leaves and eating them. They're also eating animals and birds food to stay alive. There are reported cases of kids and infants who died out of hunger and/ or cold. Starving people is part of genocide too. Remember how fast medicine was provided for the Israeli hostages, while Palestinians are starving for food and water and getting operations and amputations performed with no medication or anesthesia whatsoever.
