A week had passed, everything was going as good as it could. You spent your days walking all day and resting at night. The snow had begun to melt, but the cold was barely bearable.
Nanami had planned to stay for almost a week, then head back. You're unsure of how he's found these safe places to stay, but you're not complaining, at least you were halfway done now.
It was nighttime by now, you're having trouble getting some sleep, but you wouldn't have to worry about getting up early, so you're not too upset. You slightly glare at Nanami who is snoring, more loudly tonight than other nights.
You quietly get up and move to sit next to Shoko in the other room, who's on first watch.
"Nanami snoring?" She lifts her eyes from her book and you sleepily nod. She can hear it from outside of the room.
"He's never been this loud before, and Satoru is halfway onto my bed." You yawn, wrapping yourself in a blanket.
"I told you he was clingy." She chuckles, "He's on next watch anyways."
"I'll try sleeping out here." You say and begin to close your eyes. It was quiet for a few minutes, you'd hear Shoko flipping through a page every minute or so. Eventually you felt yourself drifting off, finally getting some rest.
Shoko notices your sleeping figure, it was about time for her to switch places with Satoru. She went off to wake him quietly, aware of the others sleeping still. Satoru was surprised with himself actually getting some sleep, he conversed with Shoko for a few seconds then headed off to the living room.
He noticed immediately when he woke up that you were gone, he's relieved to see you sleeping on the couch, even if it's a little dusty. He takes a few sips of water to wake himself up, then plopping himself right next to you.
He extends your legs so you're not all scrunched up and lays them in his lap. You frown a little from the movement, but it quickly fades.
His eyes stare intensely at your sleeping self, not in a creepy way, more so he's admiring. He reminds himself everyday that this will be temporary, his feelings will go away.
The book Shoko left was on the table in front of him, he had nothing else to do so he picked it up and began to read, all while watching the sun come up.
Breakfast needed to be caught, some small snacks were left, but Nanami suggested that it be used for only emergencies.
"I'm hungry." Inumaki signed to the group of students sitting around him. He looks towards your sleeping figure and sighs.
"Nanami was snoring." Shoko got his attention as she was walking by. "That's why she's still sleeping."
"We can ask Nanami and Gojo if we can go hunt?" Itadori asks.
"Absolutely not." Nanami perks up at his name, "She'll wake up soon."
"I'm so hungry I'll eat one of those zombies, Nanamin." Itadori whines, holding his stomach.
"Go drink some water, kid." Satoru says, watching your sleeping figure.
You stirred in your sleep from the constant conversations, eventually opening your eyes and coming face to face with blue eyes and white hair. You groan and pull the blanket over your head.
"Nuh uh, you're awake and we're hungry, sleepy head." Satoru smiles at your tired face.
"Tell Nanami not to snore so loud and maybe we'd have breakfast." You say still groggy. Satoru smiles and begins poking you. "Stop Satoru." You kick him.
"You leave me no choice." He says and pulls the blanket off of your body. You hiss at the cold and immediately scrunch up your body. "C'mon." He slowly unravels your limbs and helps you up off the couch.
"At least let me get dressed and use the bathroom." You clear your throat and stretch.
"Okay!" Satoru says and clapped his hands together, "Sleeping beauty has awoken, we'll have breakfast shortly." He tells the group.
"We'll get a fire going." Nanami says.
Satoru followed you around the small house, asking every minute or so if you were ready. You continued to glare at him and shut the bathroom door in his face. He smiles so big his face hurts, he presses his back against the door and whines for you to let him in.
"I'm peeing!" You say back to him curtly. He continues to frown, even if you can't see it. His gaze turns toward the group sitting at the table, Shoko raises an eyebrow at him as he makes eye contact with her.
He rolls his eyes, but before he could do anything else you opened the door quickly and he tumbles backwards. On instinct, you do your best to catch him, Satoru was well built, meaning he wasn't exactly the lightest. You fall back along with him, you taking most of the fall.
Satoru grins and turns around, still lying on your body, "If you wanted to cuddle, 'ya could've just asked."
"Oh shut up." You roll your eyes, "Why the hell would you lean against the door?" He just shrugs, helping you up.
"We'll be back!" Satoru tells the group, holding your arrows for you and closing the door securely behind him. He sees you not wait up for him and jogs to catch up with you.
His breath could be seen in the cold, his nose already turning a light shade of pink. "You think I'd be any good at shooting?" He keeps his voice down, handing you your arrows.
You shrug, "You're not very good with a gun."
He side eyes you, "Not true. Can I shoot one?"
"No."
"Please?"
"Absolutely not."
"...pretty please?"
"You're not gonna stop, are you?" You sigh, already knowing you'd give him one shot. He shakes his head, his beautiful hair moving along with him. "Fine. You get one arrow."
He holds the bow, noticing some markings on the wood, his finger traces them, wondering what they mean to you.
You pull him out of his concentration when you hand him his one and only arrow. You give him a quick rundown on how to shoot, you gave him some credit, he learned very quickly.
The two of you were positioned behind a fallen down tree, scoping the area, listening to every noise around you.
After about 30 minutes, you're starting to think you're in a dead spot. You look to the side to see if there were any better spots. You jump at the sound of the bow releasing and Satoru leaving your side.
You watch him come back to you, holding breakfast with a big smile on his face, you admire how handsome he looks, but the animal caught your attention. He had hit it directly in its eye, just like you did before.
"You're incredible, Satoru." You chuckle, he really was good at anything he tried.
"I could give you a run for your money." He brags.
"Yeah, you could." You smile back at him, "C'mon, everyone's hungry." He stares at your retreating figure for a few seconds before following after you. Satoru never missed out on a chance to brag about himself, this was no different.
By the end of it, the only one who was continually impressed was Itadori.
Nanami had plans to go get some extra supplies today and rest before tomorrow. Satoru suggested splitting into two groups to cover more ground, Nanami and Shoko took the second-years and Satoru and you with the first-years.
"Be back here at 3:30." Nanami tells Satoru, "Don't be late."
"We won't, Nanamin." Satoru makes sure his gun is loaded.
It was repetitive going into stores and not finding anything. "We most likely won't find anything else around." You sigh pushing some boxes out of the way.
"There's a mall nearby." Nobara says, "It's worth a shot in my opinion."
"Nothing's back there." Megumi comes back with Itadori, who's found a bouncy ball and is very entertained with it.
"I think we found the jackpot." Itadori laughs, Satoru turns to see what he's doing and bounces the ball back and forth with him.
"Okay children, let's go." You begin to lead them out. "We're heading to the mall."
"You think there's still pretzels?" Itadori asks. Everybody was silent, glaring at the boy. Megumi and Nobara took turns pushing him and arguing.
Everybody was on guard now that you were out in the open and in new territory. There were a handful of zombies along the way, but none were close enough.
The doors to the mall were shattered, no surprise there. You hoped that you'd all have some luck here, otherwise this trip would feel like it was for nothing. Satoru stayed by your side, the two of you behind the first-years.
You had gone from store to store, this time at least you had found some small things like bandages and wipes. You grab Satoru's arm and raised his watch to your eye, there was still an hour left until you all had to meet up with the rest of the group.
Every once in a while you'd turn your head quickly, swearing you heard something. Satoru was convinced you were just hearing things.
They went into a clothing store which made you raise your eyebrows, "We're supposed to be looking for food and supplies." You keep your voice down.
"Just cause it's an apocalypse doesn't mean we can't look good." Nobara says and walks in, the two boys following after her. You eye Satoru and he just shrugs and pulls you in,
"Do you think I'd look good in this?" Satoru raises a button up to his frame. It was probably the ugliest design you've ever seen, you scrunch your face at the sight of it. He's offended by your reaction and dramatically walks away from you.
You chuckle, watching him complain to Megumi. You found your way to the front of the store again and looked at the displays, some were intact, but dust and traces of blood were all over them. You put your weapons down to fix the clothing on the mannequin.
The stores nearby were similar, broken windows and clothes thrown everywhere, as you walked around your shoes crunched the broken glass and debris with every step. Megumi had his eye on you, making sure you didn't stray too far, he turned his attention back to the counter he was searching.
Voices in the distance made you stop in your tracks. They weren't from your small group. You tried to pinpoint where it had come from exactly, but they seemed to be coming from everywhere.
You spotted a guy to your left, then quickly turn to the right at the sound of footsteps, another guy was there. They both had mischievous smiles, no words were said, but all around you more members had emerged.
You went to reach for either your gun or bow, immediately cursing at yourself; remembering you had left them inside the store. Instead you pulled out one of your knives and aimed it.
The large group share scoffs and laughter at your defenseless self. You eyed their weapons, none of them had guns, you thought about running back inside the store where your gun was, but they'd most likely follow and you can't bring them to Satoru's students. You wouldn't bring harm to them.
"Give us everything, or else you'll die." A man says, you think he's the leader.
"Fuck you." You spit, praying that somebody would see you. They circled around you and slowly got closer. You were trapped. If you made the first move, you'd die.
"You're askin' to die, pretty girl." Another guy says, swinging his weapon slowly back and forth.
"Maybe we should keep her." A creepy looking man says while licking his lips, you're disgusted.
Megumi comes back to the front of the store, wondering where you had went. His eyes widen when he spots your figure surrounded, he fires some shots in the air, just barely missing the men who were around you and quickly runs towards you.
"Oh shit!" One of the men say, the group becomes disfigured in their formation.
"They're loaded." Someone tells the leader.
"He won't shoot, he's bluffing." The leader says, startled at the shots, but he does a good job of keeping his composure. "And he's a kid." He chuckles, quickly holding you by the neck and drawing a knife to your throat.
"I'm not." Satoru aims and hits their leader in the leg, their leader yells in pain and lets go of you. You quickly run towards Megumi and Satoru.
"Fuck." The men now circled their leader, helping him up.
"I suggest you leave." Megumi points his gun to the men and they do their best to quickly leave.
You weren't even given a chance to catch your breath, you looked to your right and saw a hoard of zombies coming your way.
"What the fuck—oh god." Nobara and Itadori catch up.
"We gotta go, now!" Satoru yells and the group quickly runs. You run back into the store, trying to find your weapons. "Y/n! Let's go!" Satoru notices you stayed behind.
The hoard of zombies got closer and closer by the second, you find your stuff and Satoru grabs you by the arm and runs.
"Keep going!" Satoru yells as the two of you caught up, he scans the area quickly trying to find anywhere to be safe away from everything.
"We need to find the others." You try your best to say while running, the noise you're all making attracts more and more zombies towards you.
"There's a building!" Itadori says, "The gates open."
Satoru looks around and the zombies just seem to be multiplying, "Go." He urges you forward, you give it your all to make it to the building Itadori was talking about.
You were the first to make it, waiting for the others to get in. Megumi holds onto the gate, ready to close it as soon as Nobara gets in. "Now!" You say and you and Megumi push the gate closed, the zombies fighting against it.
You're careful with their mouths and hands as they claw and try to bite you. Satoru began shooting at some of them to make it easier to close.
Finally you're able to shut it and put the lock on, Itadori and Nobara went to find a way inside the building. It was a huge risk going inside, who knew if it were occupied.
You're able to catch your breath, the adrenaline slowly going away. "Is everyone okay?" Satoru asks, he begins to examine you, making sure the men and zombies didn't hurt you. You assure him you're fine.
Megumi pales when he looks down at his hand, he stays turned away from you all.
You direct the rooms attention to him, "Megumi..?"
He finally faces you all, with a horrified look on his face, his hand is outstretched and shaking. Blood is seeping from the gash across his hand.
"He got bit." Itadori's words sink in.

"So?" Yaku sits down at the lunch table, slamming his lunch, making Kuroo jump a little in his seat.
"So what?" Kuroo pretends to not know what the blonde is asking for.
Yaku clicks his tongue, "Can you believe him?" He gets Kai's attention, "He doesn't shut up about this girl for almost 3 years and when he finally hangs out with her, suddenly he has nothing to say?!"
Kai chuckles, "I hate to say it Kuroo, but he's right."
"Shhh!" Kuroo looks around, making sure nobody is listening, "Will you shut your big mouth? Somebody will hear."
"Like everybody doesn't know." Kenma rolls his eyes.
"They don't! Only you guys do." Kuroo frowns.
"Not true." Yaku shakes his head.
"The other guys on the team know as well." Kenma says before focusing back to his phone. Kuroo continues to roll his eyes.
"Well, are you not gonna tell us?" Yaku says, still speaking very loudly.
Kuroo can't fight the smile creeping up on his face, just thinking of you makes his entire being swoon.
"He's blushing." Yaku nudges Kai, "God, you're so down bad." Kuroo ignores him and continues to eat his lunch.
"C'mon Kuroo, we've endured 3 years of you talking about her, just tell us what happened." Yaku is still determined to get this man to talk.
"After the captains meeting, we got some food and talked for a little." Kuroo stays quiet, remembering how pretty you looked the entire time you were with him. "She got onigiri and I payed, I wish I could've seen her surprised face again, it was adorable." He continued to ramble on.
Yaku was deeply invested on his captains love life, he listened to Kuroo go on and on about you.
"The way she had her hair suited her so well, and she even playfully nudged me, I swear my skin is shining from the spot where she touched me—" He goes to show his teammates the spot where you touched him, but he was interrupted.
"Okay okay, lover boy, I asked for how it went, not for you to declare your love to her for the millionth time." Yaku rolls his eyes, already hearing him talk about how pretty and nice you are.
"You asked, I'm simply just telling you how it went." Kuroo crosses his arms over his chest.
"No, I didn't ask for you to gush all over her." The blonde glares.
"Alright, doesn't matter." Kai intervenes, "What happened after eating?"
"I was going to walk her home, but we heard thunder so she quickly left before I could offer." Kuroo's smile falters a little.
"That's why you don't have a girlfriend." Yaku shakes his head.
"He doesn't have one cause all he does is talk about
Y/n, but never makes a move." Kenma quietly says. "You guys are being loud." He pockets his phone and begins to walk away from them.
"Who waits 3 years to finally talk to their crush? I thought you were more bold." Yaku goes on.
"You've never had one either." Kuroo rolls his eyes, "Plus I get nervous around her. Look at her."
Yaku and Kai groan, not wanting to hear him go on again. It's no hate to you, they think you're kind, but their friend is a wimp who is making them suffer by not doing anything to advance your guys' non existent relationship.
You're sitting on top of a desk near your coach, Himari right next to you as she chews on some pocky.
"Don't you guys have better things to do?" Coach Mori raises an eyebrow at the two of you.
"No." You both say in unison and she rolls her eyes, you two spend way too much time together. You're basically psychic.
"Tell us some drama." Himari has a glint in her eye.
"There is none. And if there was, I wouldn't be allowed to tell." Mori glares and continues to type on her computer.
"Aw, come one. Just a little? What about that guy you were talking to?" You swung your feet.
Mori turns in her seat, "What about the boys' captain?"
Himari looks confused, "Kuroo Tetsurou? He's cute."
"He's flirting with her." Mori points her finger to you.
"No way." Himari is baffled.
"What? You're delusional." You laugh. "He is cute, though." You whisper to Himari and she lightly pushes you.
"You should've seen them at the captains meeting."
"Bro, change the rules so vice captains can go, I need to see this." Himari laughs.
"We were being friendly!" You raise your hands as if it's obvious. "You never used to bug me about the previous captains."
"Because the previous captains didn't look at you the way he does." Mori rolls her eyes. "Now shoo, the bell is about to ring."
"Nothing is going on." You clarify and your coach plugs her ears, not wanting to hear any of it. "Can you believe her?" You say to Himari as the two of you walk out of class.
"I'd have to see for myself." Himari shrugs and you gasp.
"You believe her?" You feel betrayed.
"Mori is never wrong when it comes to guys." Himari says confidently.
"Oh yeah? Well she was wrong about the last guy she went on a date with, he stood her up." You furrow your brows.
"I meant for other people." She laughs, "Remember when Izumi got cheated on last year? Mori called it."
How could you forget, she warned her just by meeting the boy once. "Coincidence. I mean, look at him." You open the door for class and walk in.
"Or when she knew my cousin was gonna marry her boyfriend. After they dated for a week." She emphasized.
You roll your eyes, "Uh huh."
"She's never wrong. Now I know Kuroo Tetsurou has a crush on you." She winks and pokes your cheek. You continue to deny, you had just gotten to get to know him.
Classes trudged on, it was the second week and you're already sick of it. You were looking forward to practice today, the practice match with the boys had you almost on the edge of your seat.
The lineup you drew during the captains meeting was the one being used for this practice match. It wasn't completely set in place, your coach would make tweaks where ever needed.
You and a few other members began to change, you could barely hold your excitement, you were basically buzzing. Without a word, you quickly left the club room and made your way to the gym.
"She's happy." Misaki, your libero laughs.
"The girl's been begging for 3 years for this." Himari sighs, closing her locker and leaves.
A few boys were already in the gym setting up, you figured they had it down.
"Um, excuse me?" You hear a voice and turn, seeing Kenma stand before you. "Do you want us to put the net at the girls height?"
"No, the men's is fine. We practice with it anyway." You say and continue to look at the rotations on the clipboard. Kenma's a little surprised, but goes to the others to tell them to raise it a bit more.
"You seem ready." Coach Mori chuckles, taking her clipboard from you, "You got them down, don't worry."
"I was just memorizing the others', in case we get confused." You say.
"Go stretch." She rolls her eyes, you begin forming a small circle of your teammates as they slowly join.
"Wait so in the 2nd rotation I serve, but once we lose the point Rikako comes in for me?" Emi, your right side asks. Rikako was a first year, and a damn good one, her passes were amazing.
"Yeah, we need your serves." Himari says, watching you from the corner of your eye trying to decide who's got serve and who's receiving.
You jog back to your coach, who orders the team to huddle up. "We got serve." You say.
"You finally won a coin toss!" Aiko slaps your back, she was another passer.
"I don't always lose?" You frown, your coach gets all of your attention again and begins to go over rotations quickly.
"Go out there and play." Your coach breaks you all out and the starters head onto the court. You started off in the right front, Himari behind you with the ball, next to her was Keiko; a middle blocker, she was waiting for Misaki to sub in for her, Naomi was next to her in left back, Emi in left front, then Mei standing in front of the net, checking out the boys' heights. She was 6'1.
Kuroo started in the left front, then Kai, and Yamamoto in right front. Yaku was in right back for Inuoka, Kenma was in middle back, and Fukunaga was in left back.
Your coach hides her hand behind her back, telling Himari where to serve.
"You nervous?" Kuroo asks you from the other side of the net.
You scoff, "Not in the slightest." He smirks and pulls back to hide Kenma so he doesn't have to pass. You get ready to switch with Emi, as soon as the whistle blows you're in the left position with your arms ready by your head.
You watch the ball go over the net and aim for Kuroo, he passes the ball with ease, giving Kenma an easy ball to work with. You watch Kenma carefully, dissecting his every move.
His back was arched slightly in mid air, giving you the hint that he was going to give it to Yamamoto, "Right!" You yell and were correct when the ball left his hands.
You and Mei get ready to block him, she takes away his cross shot easily because of her insane height, meanwhile you were really only good for getting touches.
"Straight!" Naomi yells and prepares to receive the ball.
Yamamoto yells something you didn't quite catch, but he hits right through Mei's block, she wasn't expecting such a hard hit. The ball begins the fall short in front of Misaki, but she saves it with one hand.
"Himari, left!" You yell, knowing the original play was out of the question when the receive was wonky. Himari knows she can count on you, she sends the ball your way and you wait for the ball to reach its peak, then beginning your approach.
You may have been on the shorter side of your team, but you worked a ton on your vertical. You soar into the air, seeing Kai and Kuroo's strong arms, you decided to give it your all and try to break through the block.
Which you did, it landed in front of Kenma after it ricocheted off of Kai's hands. You land back down and begin cheering with your team.
"Nice save, my bad." Mei apologies.
"Don't worry, you'll get it." Misaki encourages.
"Great set as always, Himari." You smile, giving her a high five and she blows you a kiss as a joke.
"Nice job, ladies, get another Himari." Your coach nods to her. You roll the ball towards her and you face forward again.
You watch Kenma bring his team together and say a few things.
"I know you were scared to try and hit through my block." Kuroo sassily said, walking back.
"Oh please." You laugh. "I could any day."
"We'll see." He gives you a wink then goes back to pass.
The whistle blew and the ball was sent over, you perceptively watched Kenma, you knew he liked to play tricks with his eyes and fake body movement.
This time Yaku gave a perfect pass to Kenma and he sets it to Kuroo, he gives a powerful hit in between the gap of the block.
It slams right in between Misaki snd Naomi, both fail to get a hand on the ball.
"Sorry, I'll do a better job of closing the gap." Mei cringes at herself for such a stupid mistake.
"It's all good, focus on the next one." You pat her back.
"We'll do better too!" Naomi nods to Misaki.
"We're good guys, cmon let's go, next point." Himari says. The rallies were back and forth, to be honest you weren't really looking at the score too often, you were having so much fun despite how competitive you could get.
Point after point, you all learned something and were able to adapt for the next point. Both sides had great back and forth rallies, but ultimately, you lost the first set.
"Don't be too down, we've never played a boys team before. This is new." Your coach said.
"We're not too far off in height, it's mostly just Kuroo and Kai we have to worry about." Himari states, out of breath, but a huge smile on her face. You can tell she's having fun too.
"We got this next one, guys, let's go." You break the team out and begin the second set. This time your team is the one to back it up by one rotation. You're in middle front, Emi wasn't the best at receiving serves, so you pulled back to hide her further in the back.
You wipe your shoes to make sure they weren't slippery before getting into position. Yamamoto is now up to serve, you are now starting to question why Kenma wasn't their first server.
He serves to you, it was very powerful, but you were able to read it and direct it towards Himari, your arms stung a little after receiving it.
It was a perfect pass, so Himari went for the quick attack with Mei, which successfully made it over the net, despite Kuroo being amazing at blocking. It was received easily and thrown back at your team by Fukunaga.
The game ended with you guys taking the second set, but they took the third. You all shake hands, out of breath. Even though your team lost, you were happy to finally be able to play with the boys. It was definitely great practice for both sides.
"What happened?" Kuroo says, finding you after the practice match, you were drinking from your water bottle talking to your coach, a few members were taking down the net.
"I believe you lost a set." You shrugged and laughed. Your coach eyed the boy, watching his mannerisms with you.
"I believe you lost the game." He chuckled and you deadpan.
"Next week. Just you wait." You say, "Oh, I was meaning to talk to you about your lineup." He turns his head like a confused puppy. "Why don't you have Kenma serve first?"
"Yamamoto has a good serve." He says.
"You should try having Kenma serve, that way he gets more back row time and you'd have 3 hitters in the front for longer." You explain.
He thinks for a moment, "That could work. I'll tell coach." He smiles, "Thanks. You play good, by the way. I haven't been able to watch many matches, but I've heard some things."
"Bad things?" You raise an eyebrow.
"No," He laughs, "of course not. I've heard your hits are powerful and you read the ball well."
"Thank you, Kuroo." You say. "You know, we'd always go and support your games, but I see that's not reciprocated." You jokingly roll your eyes.
"Hey, cut us some slack," He chuckles, "We'll be present more often." He promises. Coach Nekomata calls Kuroo over and he gives you a small smile before leaving.
You're left with your coach and Himari, who you didn't realize came over to gossip with her sister. You deadpan looking at them.
"She's telling me what her great mind is predicting." Himari smiles widely.
"Oh shut up." You roll your eyes. "I don't believe your so called gift."
"I'm never wrong, hun." Coach Mori shrugs and begins to pack up. "You're always welcome to ask for my opinion."
"Yeah sure." You narrow your eyes at her, "You ready?" Himari nods and takes one last sip of her water bottle before putting it with the rest.
"You FINALLY talked to her in person, wow." Yaku smiles at his tall friend.
"Will you be quiet?" Kuroo looks around.
"Everybody knows, dude." Yamamoto says, "I'm surprised she doesn't with how much you look at her." He laughs. "Can't blame you, though."
Kuroo turns his head so quickly at his teammate, "Nuh uh, you're not allowed to be jealous when you haven't done shit." Yaku laughs and walks away.
Kuroo rubs his forehead, his team was going to make his age so quickly with how much they stress him out.

After a grueling week, your tryouts officially ended. There was already an idea of what the lineup would be looking like, but your coach wanted to have a meeting about it.
Which is why you're at school on your only days off from both practice and your studies. Normally, meetings weren't every week, but it was a new season so they'd be more frequent for the first couple of weeks.
Your team had been too busy with tryouts to have a practice match with the boys', but it'd be happening this upcoming week and you were so excited.
"Good morning." You say walking into the gym, Kuroo and coach Nekomata were both seated—well Kuroo was on the floor, lying on his stomach.
"Good morning." Kuroo smiled, then began writing on his piece of paper on the floor.
"Where's Mori at?" You look around confusingly, trying to spot her light brown hair, pulled back into a loose pony tail.
"Her office, I think." Kuroo answers.
"I thought she said the bathroom?" Coach Nekomata furrows his brows and in response Kuroo shrugs. You sit down next to him and eye his paper, he's drawing up some lineups.
You frown at the absence of your coach. She made you get up early when you should be sleeping in like the rest of your teammates. The worst part is she didn't bribe you this time so you had nothing to look forward to.
Kuroo finishes and hands his paper to his coach, he examines it and held onto it for a minute or two. He kicks his feet, waiting for feedback. You laugh at him silently, in your head. He's kinda cute.
"What do you think about this, Y/n?" Coach Nekomata hands you the paper, it's slightly crumpled, you're starting to think that all of Kuroo's papers are.
You take it from his hands and look at the rotations, "I think a 5-1 is a good choice, especially if your second setter is clearly outplayed by Kenma." You follow the rotations more, seeing which players are getting switched.
"You guys also run a 5-1 too, right?" Kuroo bites the inside of his cheek, not wanting to sound like a creep for knowing.
"Yeah," you chuckle, "I think it looks great. You have a good use of substitutions." You smile and hand back the paper to him. His hand brushes yours for a millisecond as he grabs it.
"This is the lineup we'll beat your team with." He smirks.
"Oh yeah? Confident, I like it." You say,the door to the gym opens and all of your heads turn. "And where were you? We agreed on 9:30 am sharp. You're late." You lecture.
"Oh please, I don't want to hear it." She laughs. "I was here before you, I just had to get some things from my office." She shuffles some things around in her backpack, then pulls out a blank piece of paper, like Kuroo's, just not crumpled. "Start thinking of some lineups." She says.
You frown, "Can I borrow that?" You point to Kuroo's pencil and he immediately nods and slides it to you. "Thank you."
"I think we got this one in the bag." Kuroo now flips from his stomach to his back and faces the gym ceiling.
"Uh-huh, sure." You draw out the last word. "How many tournaments have you won?"
He clicks his tongue, "We've won."
"Recently?" You raise an eyebrow, staring into his eyes.
He can feel his cheeks begin to heat up, he turns away before you could see, "Yeah well, you lost some valuable players last season."
"We have good first-years." You say, "I heard one of your first-years can't receive well, isn't that what your team's known for?"
The two coaches watch you two banter back and forth, Mori reminding Kuroo that you had to finish the rotations still and to stop distracting you. The meeting was pretty short, there wasn't a lot to cover besides lineups.
"You're staying?" You point between the two coaches, Kuroo and you helped clean up and were ready to leave.
"We've got a board meeting in a little." Coach Nekomata says and you nod, bidding them goodbye for the day as you walk out with Kuroo.
You're not surprised to see that it's lightly raining, since it had been all week, and yet you still didn't bring an umbrella. "You have an umbrella?"
"Of course I do." He chuckles, opening it and luckily it was big enough for the two of you to be under. "Have you eaten already?"
You shook your head, "I was starving that whole time," you laugh, "Have you?"
He shook his head, "There's this convenience store by my house, you wanna go get something?" He strengthens his grip on the umbrella.
"Yeah." You smile.
He lets out a breath he didn't know he was holding and turns his head so he can smile like a schoolgirl, he quickly recomposes himself and look forward again.
You thought Kuroo was nice, you've never really gotten to know him, but you were semi-close to Kai, one of his teammates, only because he was in your class.
"How'd you feel about the first week of classes?" You ask after a moment of silence.
"Pretty easy, I'm enjoying it while it lasts." He says and you chuckle.
"Yeah, it gets rough around June and July. We usually use the first hour of practice to study before actually playing." You say.
"So you guys practice less?" Kuroo is intrigued by this, he had never heard of a team doing anything like it.
"No, we extend it to end an hour later, coach just wants to make sure we at least do something productive before practice." You clarify.
He hums, "I'm sure you have no issue passing exams." He compliments.
You smile, "Not really, I study frequently. I could say the same about you." You slightly nudge him.
He shrugs and rolls his eyes playfully, "Aw stop it, I just pay attention, that's all."
"Consider that the last time I compliment you." You laugh.
"I'm kidding! I appreciate it, thanks." He laughs along with you. "This is it." He says, looking both ways before crossing the street to the convenience store. The second you spot food, your stomach began to grumble.
You found yourself in a different aisle than Kuroo, trying to choose from the two onigiri in your hand. You decided to take both, you're extremely hungry. Kuroo came up next to you in line, you noticed he had a sandwich and a drink, an iced tea you think.
It was your turn next in line, you kindly greeted the man at the register and placed your items on the counter. What you didn't expect was to see Kuroo's items placed next to yours, you turn confusingly, but he had already given the man his card.
"You didn't have to—"
"Nonsense. I'm the one who asked you to come." He smiles widely, then quickly takes his card back and puts it inside of his wallet. "Cmon, let's eat." He grabs the bag full of your shared items.
"Thank you." You sincerely say, feeling a little bad about him paying, not that it was expensive, but still.
"Of course." The rain had stopped, the sun began to come out of the gray clouds. He leads you to one of the benches at a nearby park, it had an umbrella so it wasn't too soaked.
"God, I'm starving." He says, handing you your items.
You agree with him and a comfortable silence falls between you two as you're both distracted with eating. You eye the area around you, it was unfamiliar, but it wasn't too far from your home.
You watch an owner play with her dog, repeatedly throwing the ball for the dog to run and get it, it made you smile. You crumble up the wrapper the onigiri was in and place it on the table.
"You know," You begin, Kuroo was also watching the dog, but now his eyes were looking into yours, "I've lived here for a while now and I've never been to this park before."
Kuroo chuckles, "It's nice, right?" And you nod. "Kenma and I would play here all the time."
"That sounds nice." You smile and begin watching the dog again, Kuroo can't help but continue to stare at you.
"He didn't like it very much, his arms would hurt after playing volleyball for a long time." Kuroo recalls the memory.
"I believe that. I'm surprised he's still playing." You honestly say.
"I think he likes it. In his own way." He shrugs. "You and Himari are close, too."
You smile, thinking of your best friend, "Yeah, we grew up next to each other. It was nice having someone in the same grade, it felt like I wasn't going through anything alone."
"I get that, she's like a sister to you." He says and you immediately agree. Both of your families had been close since the day they moved in. "You don't have siblings don't you?"
"No, only child." You shrug.
"I have an older sister." He says.
"Really?" You're surprised, you would've thought he was an only child.
"Yeah, she's way older, so I don't see her very often." As he finishes his sentence, the sun quickly goes away and the sounds of thunder hit your ears. "Oh shit." Kuroo says.
"I think it's gonna rain again." You say, "I better get going."
"I hope it's not too long of a walk." Kuroo says, worried that you're going to get soaked.
"No, don't worry it's not." You smile, "I'll see you later. Thank you again for paying!" You say as you leave, speed walking towards your house.
Kuroo watches you get further and further away, his heart was pounding from the moment you walked into the gym. A small smile remains on his face as he walks back home.

Despite waking up on time, you were frantically running around your house trying to find your left knee pad. You thought you had everything packed, but right as you were going to meet up with Himari you decided to check your bag again.
"Mom!" You yell, moving the pillows on the couch to see if your missing knee pad was there. It was not.
"I have no idea where it could be, sweetheart." She says apologetically, "Check the car?" She suggests.
You had to leave in 5 minutes if you wanted to be on time. Your coach would kill you if she found out her captain was late on the first day.
"Good morning my second mom!" Himari walks into your house, greeting your mother with a hug.
"Hey sweetie." She returns the hug. Himari looks at your disheveled self, running around like a maniac.
"What's wrong with her?" Himari chuckles.
"She can't find her left knee pad." Your mother sighs, handing Himari her lunch that she had made her. Your mother made lunches for the both of you, this week was her turn to make them.
Himari raises her eyebrows and quickly unzips her volleyball bag, "I thought it was weird I had an extra knee pad." She says and calls your name, holding the missing knee pad.
"Oh thank god." You take it from her and shove it in your bag, "Where was it?"
"My bag." Himari laughs, waving to your mother as you both walk out the door.
You roll your eyes, "You stole it."
"You left it." She giggles.
You both made it just in time for class, Himari sat in the desk next to you. Class was going relatively fast, it was the first day, so it was the easiest.
Himari watched the clock tick, her stomach was rumbling, begging for some food. You watch her clutch her stomach and put her head down.
The second the bell rang, she grabbed her lunch and pulled you along with her to class 5.
"Mori!" Himari smiles widely, your coach, who was also a teacher, lifted her head up from the papers she was examining and raised an eyebrow.
"Himari, you cannot call me that." Your coach says.
"You're my sister, I can call you whatever I want." Himari crosses her arms.
"Yeah, well not at work. Just for that you're doing extra cardio today." Mori glares at her sister.
You chuckle and take a seat, eating your lunch watching them argue about every little thing. You excuse yourself to the bathroom and to get some water.
"Hey, L/n!" You hear your name being called, you turn and see Kuroo.
"Oh hey, please just call me Y/n, I like it better." You smile. "What's up, Kuroo?"
"I didn't know your coach taught here." He says following you.
"Yeah," You chuckle, "Sometimes she makes me help her grade."
"Well, if you ever grade my stuff you'll only see perfect marks." He brags.
"Uh-huh, sure."
"Oh, but what I really got your attention for was our team's schedule." He pulls out a paper and hands it to you, it's a little crumpled from being in his bag. "I heard from Kai that you like to have your own."
"Thank you, we haven't gotten our schedule yet, but I'll be sure to pass it on to you when I do." You say, folding the paper so it doesn't get any more ruined.
"Sounds good." He puts his hand in his pockets and stands a little awkwardly, not sure how to continue the conversation.
You chuckle, "I'll see you later, I have to finish my lunch." With that he watches your figure walk towards his class, assuming you eat lunch with your coach.
He mentally groans at himself and begins to walk back to where his friends are at.
"She made the practice plan." You notice Himari's face down her desk, her voice was muffled.
"It can't be worse than last years," you chuckle, remembering how a few of the girls had thrown up. Mori handed you her iPad to show what was on schedule and you gulp, "are you trying to kill us?!"
"My goal is to get rid of the unserious players day one." She takes her iPad back.
"Yeah, you'll probably get rid of a few of your starters too." You are trying to mentally prepare for after school.
"We'll do more than just throw up." Himari rubs her temples.
Mori clicks her tongue, "It won't be as bad as you think. Now get to class before you're late." You two groan and leave the classroom, going back to your own.
You were assigned a worksheet for the remainder of class, Himari takes your paper and compares it to her own, unsure of where her mistake could be.
You shook your head and stared out the window, the day was going by fast and soon you'll be begging for oxygen at practice.
The last bell of the day rang and students were antsy to leave, you took your time packing your things. Nervousness and excitement pooled your stomach.
"Cmon let's go, we have to open the club room." Himari stands up.
"I'm going, I'm going." You stand up as well and pull your bag over one shoulder.
You continued your small talk, up until you reached the door. The clouds were starting to turn grey, making you frown.
"We might get rained on." Himari notes and walks into the club room.
"At least it'll cool us off while we run." You shrug, taking off your school uniform and changing into your volleyball gear.
The door whips open, making you clutch your shirt to your chest, "LETS GO BABY! First day of the season." Naomi, one of your teammates yell.
"Close the fucking door! We're shirtless." Himari yells back.
"It was just me." Naomi sighs, "Captain." She nods to you and you wave the two off as you go into the gym.
The boys club room was to the right of yours, Kuroo had just so happened to get out the same time you did. "Beautiful day for running, right?"
You turn and see the boys captain and you chuckle, "So you've heard."
"Misaki mentioned it quite loudly." He laughs, "Have you had a chance to look through your first-year applicants?" He says.
"A few of them. We have a huge turnout. I told you we would." You sigh. "And you?"
He nods, "4 of them. That's all we got."
You hum, "I'm wishing you guys the best, we'd love to be able to go to nationals together."
"We're trying," he chuckled, "We'll definitely be there. I promise." He says to you. "See 'ya." And he walks into his respected gym.
You shake your head, you had teased the captains years prior about going to nationals. They have two chances, one near the start of the year, and the other in the spring. That is if the third-years stay.
During your summer break you and the other third-years hung out and talked about whether staying after inter high was a good idea or not. You stood firmly on staying, you wanted to take the team to nations twice. Of course the others followed after you.
The smell of a freshly waxed gym floods your nose, you know it'll be the worst when diving, but you've prepared yourself for the bruises and burns.
"Don't bother putting your volleyball shoes, we'll be going outside shortly." Your coach says as you began to take off your other shoes.
You fake cry and begin stretching, making her chuckle evilly.
After a gruesome two and a half hours, you made it through without puking. You can't say the same for some of the other girls, though.
You're hunched over a ball cart, catching your breath. You eye a number of girls going up to coach Mori, most likely to tell her that they won't be returning.
You think she actually did it, she really got rid of all but 3 first-years.
"I need fluids." Keiko, one of the middle blockers tells you. "I lost all of them during our second session outside."
You scrunch your nose at the thought of her puking, "There's Gatorade in the club room."
"Gather 'round! I just have a few things to say before we tear down the nets," Your coach starts, "Great first day, tomorrow will be similar, please let me know if you won't be coming back." You drown out her voice as she talks about things you've heard the past 2 years.
You're starving. Your stomach tightens uncomfortably, you hope your mother or father made something good. You'll also be taking a Gatorade from the club room.
"Captain?" You coach catches you off guard, "Is there anything you'd like to add before we leave?"
"Thank you all for coming, don't be discouraged by today, it all comes with practice. Please continue to support us! Rest up and be ready for tomorrow. " You end and the room erupts in applause.
You let the starter second-years take the nets down while you converse with your coach for tomorrow.
"I finished up making the schedule, I already sent coach Nekomata a copy, but I know you like to have one as well." She opens her clipboard and hands you a paper.
"Do you happen to have another one?" You say, eyes scanning the schedule.
"Yeah, here." She hands you another, "Why?"
"I wanted to give it to the boys' captain." You say, not paying much mind to it.
"The boy, huh." She smirks.
"What? I just met him, you're delusional." You laugh.
"Don't let boys distract you. Do you remember what happened to Mia?" You recall the memory two years ago, she had gotten dumped the day before nationals. It was horrible for her, she had to be benched halfway through because of her errors.
You shiver at the thought, "I promise nothings going to happen."
Your coach hums, you see most of the girls have already left or gone to the club room. "I'll see you tomorrow." You say.
You can feel some soreness in your legs walking up the stairs to the club room. You throw your jacket and sweats on. 'The schedule.' You remind yourself and make your way over to the boys' clubroom.
"What're you doing?" Himari questions.
"I need to give this to the captain." You say, "Also we're stopping at the store, I need food immediately." She laughs and says she does too.
You knock on the door, hearing some of the chatter die down, a short blonde answers. "What's up?"
"Is Kuroo in there? I have something for him." You say.
"I think he's still in the gym, sorry."
"You're good, thanks." You finish and drag Himari to the gym again.
The blonde was right, Kuroo was sitting on the floor talking to his coach, their heads turn to see who had just walked in.
"Oh—hey," Kuroo gets up and walks over to the two of you. "Is everything alright?"
"Yeah, I just got our schedule," You hand it over to him.
"Thank you." He gives a wide smile, "Hey Coach, do you need one of these?"
"I got it emailed, thank you son. Y/n, Himari." He nods to you guys. "How was the first day?"
"So much running." Himari stares off into nothing remembering how she felt during it.
"And conditioning. But I think coach Mori did it. She got rid of all the unserious players day one." You say.
"I helped her make that plan." Nekomata chuckles.
"I hope our suffering was worth it." Himari sticks her nose in the air. Making the boys laugh.
"Good luck tomorrow." Kuroo waves, when you're out of eyesight he clutches the paper to his chest. He didn't necessarily need the schedule, but you thought of him and that's all he could ask for.

The next day was no different. Walking for hours on end, luckily no terrible run-ins with zombies had occurred. You couldn't believe this would take about 3 weeks in total.
You were ready to never walk a day in your life again. It had snowed during one of the nights, making the cold even more unbearable.
"Your nose is red." You say to Satoru, your feet crunch the fresh snow beneath you. "You can have the scarf back." You begin to unravel the one he gave you.
"No don't, I'm okay." He smiles, "I can handle a little cold."
"You sure? You can wear mine Gojo!" Itadori turns around and begins to walk backwards.
"I'm fine, thank you though." He appreciates. Itadori gave him a thumbs up and as he did so he fell right on his ass, groaning as he lays there helplessly. Satoru laughs and extends a hand for him.
"I knew you were gonna fall." Maki says, Nobara by her side laughing at the sight, snow was all up his back. He frowns and begins to rid himself of the snow.
You all were approaching another city, you'd have to be more on your guard now that you're not out in the open with no buildings, zombies or people could be a corner away.
"Nanami, when's our next break." Shoko breathes heavily.
"It's all those cigarettes you smoke, they're catchin' up to 'ya." Satoru grins, knowing just how to get under her nerves. He gracefully dodges the snowball thrown from her.
"We can check out that building." Nanami points ahead and you all rushed to get there to have more rest.
You all had your guns raised, in case of any zombie. After you all checked every single crevice of the falling apart grocery store, you were able to calm down.
Satoru took a spot next to you and Nanami on your other side. He had made small conversation with you, mostly just checking in. Then Nanami got up and talked to the second-years.
"I feel like I'm gonna get hypothermia." You shiver.
"I know. Me too." Satoru says, he rubs his hands up and down quickly on your arms to hopefully get you to warm up.
"I'm gonna go stand outside." You say to the group, you just wanted to keep an eye out. Satoru of course followed you.
Your eyes scanned the area, you're not sure if you saw something, but there was movement out of the corner of your eye. You focus your attention behind a building where you think they went behind.
Satoru noticed you staring off and looks as well, he's not sure exactly what he's looking at though, "What's wrong?" He whispers to you.
"I thought I saw something." You finally tear your eyes away and look into his eyes. Satoru then sees the movement you're talking about.
"It's a person." He squints, the figure now disappearing again. They were still a little far, but your guard is up.
"Should we tell the others?" You worriedly say. "We don't know what they'll do."
"I think we should leave." Satoru clenched his jaw and made his way back into the store with the others.
3 shots broke the silence, your ears were ringing and your vision shut so hard that when you opened your eyes it was blurry. You quickly shake it off and move behind a car as more shots were aimed towards you.
"What the fuck was that." Nanami whips his head quickly towards the door, they all took their cover as shots were aimed recklessly inside and out the store.
"Watch out!" Satoru, pulls Inumkai, he could still hear, but not as well as the rest of you.
Your entire body was covered by the car, quickly you make sure your gun is loaded and when there is a pause of shots you peek and take aim, shooting back. You effectively hit one of them in the leg and he cries loudly.
As you duck again you're able to know there's 4 men. Nanami peeks his head out as the shots stopped and takes his aim, you follow with him and shoot again.
"Fuck." You hear one of them yell in pain, "I'm shot, Geto." That name. You recognize it.
"Let's run." You hear someone say and footsteps quickly get further away.
You fully stand up now and begin shooting them again, you weren't able to hit them, but you sure did get close.
After they were fully out of sight, you rejoined the group.
"Is everyone all right?" You say breathing heavily.
They all nod.
"Are you shot?" Satoru runs up to you and pulls you inside further into the store, he sits you down and begins to examine you. He's really frightened, he never shows his emotions much, but he was terrified of anybody getting hurt.
"I'm good." You say, "I shot the short one." You say.
"Fucking Geto." Satoru seethes, you know this is wrong, but he is very very attractive when this furious. You admire for a second then shake your thoughts away.
"What the hell are they doing this far out?" Shoko furrows her brows, checking the students for any injuries.
"No idea. But they're gonna keep giving us trouble." Nanami rubs his nose, clenching his jaw. "Nice job on hitting one of them." He compliments you and you simply nod.
"All he wants is trouble." Satoru's voice is deeper than normal. He's beyond furious. "We've gotta get rid of 'em." He stands face to face with Nanami.
"Absolutely not." Nanami chuckles and it only makes Satoru even more upset.
"You want to wait until once of us is killed?" He stands his ground. Nanami took him serious and eyed him, clenching his jaw.
"No, but now is not the time. We've got a mission." Nanami, who's a bit smaller in height slightly looks up to Satoru.
"Yeah well we've got bigger problems now." Satoru gets impossibly closer to Nanami. Tension is rising and you know it's best to pull him away.
You grab ahold of Satoru, "Now's not the time to go at each other." You tug on his sleeve.
He eyes you and he immediately softens, then glares back at Nanami. He takes a step back and sighs, closing his eyes and reopening them. Much more calm now.
"I'm sorry, but we can't keep letting them do this to us." He says. "This is like the third run-in we've had with him and his gang." Satoru continues.
"I understand." Nanami says. "I don't think they'll follow us, I think we should keep moving." He says.
"We still need to see if the radio tower works." Shoko joins.
"And the military base near there too." Megumi says.
Satoru grumbles to himself, but ultimately agrees and you all continue walking. Getting out of the city as quick as you could so there'd be no chance you'd run into them again.
You decide to give Satoru some space, he was behind the whole group. A serious look on his face, he made sure to keep an eye out for anything, especially behind him.
Everybody seemed to be on edge, and rightfully so. You just wanted to get to your next checkpoint to relax. It was rough now, going up hills leading up to a mountain.
"We have to go up that?" You say to Nanami and he sighs before answering.
"Yes. Before sundown." He checks his watch, the mountain wasn't too big, but it'd definitely take every ounce of strength left in all of you.
"Let's get this over with." Nobara takes a deep breath and begins to climb.
There wasn't much talking between any of you. Occasionally someone would stop to catch their breath and you'd all follow. Light sprinkles of snow fell, and you hoped it wouldn't be bad tomorrow morning.
Your thighs ached and begged to rest, but you could see it start to flatten a little and that was all the strength you needed. Once you reached the top, you only had to wait a few minutes before everyone else had made it.
A few of them had their hands on their knees, others dropped right to the ground to catch their breaths. There was a small resort that you'd all be staying in, a hot springs resort.
The sun was setting rapidly, you're lucky you had made it just in time.
"I'll go find some wood, keep an eye on them, okay?" Nanami tells you as he ventured off with the first -years.
"Do you mind finding a room for us?" You signed to Inumaki and he smiles.
"No problem. We'll look around." He signs back and holds up his gun to indicate he was going to make sure nothing else was in there. Panda and Maki follow along with him as backup.
Satoru sat on a lobby chair, one that wasn't falling apart. You're not sure if you should say something. He hasn't talked to anyone since you had left the grocery store.
You focus your attention on the pictures in the lobby instead. The resort seemed in relatively good shape still, you think nobody wanted to risk the hike up the mountain to get here.
"Satoru, you mind helping?" Shoko is holding wood in her arms, he eyes her and mumbles a 'sure' and makes his way over. It was finally dark out, he made the fire himself and began to warm up last nights dinner.
"There's hot springs here." You say to Shoko, you're both watching Satoru outside.
"You think we can find them?" She says.
"I want to. I bet they're really warm still." You make your way behind the front desk, there had to be a map somewhere. "Found it." You say to yourself.
Shoko turns on her flashlight to see what you've got in your hands. "The springs should be.. here." She points, "It looks like a short walk."
"You wanna go with me?" You say, already imagining how warm it'd be.
"Hell yeah." She chuckles and goes off to find Nanami.
Satoru begins to put the fire out, carrying the leftover fox. "Dinners ready." His usual smile is back and it makes your stomach do flips.
During dinner, you brought up the hot springs to Nanami who seemed reluctant at first, but ultimately gave in when he saw how close they were to the resort.
And you had promised you'd bring weapons with you. You'd all be fully unclothed so you suggested that the girls go together and the boys go together.
Nobara and Maki refused to see their classmates in the nude, you don't blame them. You wrapped a towel around your body and grabbed your gun, leading the way.
It was quiet out. You could only hear your groups whispers and steps. Your flashlight scoped the area just in case, but you knew nobody or anything were near.
"Oh my god." Nobara said, tears in her eyes as she saw the springs.
"This is gonna feel so good." Shoko smiled. You put your gun on the ground and unwrapped your towel. You weren't very shy, you were all girls and it was dark out, minus your flashlight.
You stepped one foot in and almost moaned at the feeling. The others followed and did the same. In no time you had all submerged yourselves. The spring was huge, bigger than a swimming pool at a hotel.
"Good call, Y/n." Shoko sighs contently.
"This feels amazing." Nobara follows.
"I can practically feel myself defrost." Maki chuckles.
"Feels nice to rinse off too." You say, your last shower being at the military base. Before the apocalypse, this would've been gross, but who cares now. A wash is a wash.
Your muscles relaxed more with every minute spent in the hot spring. This was heaven. The other girls chatted and you'd chime in here and there, but you were basking in the warmth.
"How long until the guys come find us." Maki says, "I never wanna leave."
You chuckle, "Satoru is needy as hell, so it shouldn't be too long."
"You've got that right." Shoko shakes her head. "I'm starting to get too hot." She sits up, her arms resting on the sides of the spring.
"We can go in a few. I'm sure the boys want to spend their time here too." You say, sitting up as well. Maki and Nobara did everything they could to stay longer, they really did not want to leave.
You wrapped your figure in your towel, the cold air slicing your skin. A flashlight shined on the 4 of you, thankfully all wrapped up.
"Hey," Shoko clicks her tongue, "what if we were naked?" She huffs.
"But you're not." Nanami says, a towel wrapped just around his waist. You find Satoru, who's the same. You quickly scan his body up and down, thanking god that it was dark out so nobody could call you out on it.
He looked good. Real good.
"Now leave so we can be warm too." Nanami says and you all roll your eyes. You're careful going back to the resort, it was freezing, but definitely worth it.
Maki and Nobara passed out very quickly, you're sure they're exhausted. Shoko lights a small candle and sets it next to her and begins reading. You'll always find her reading some sort of medical book.
"What're you reading now?" You whisper across the room as you shut the blinds.
"Textbook about how vaccines were discovered and the process and stuff." She says. "I'm just trying to remember some things I forgot in medical school."
You nod, "Vaccines?" You question.
"Wouldn't it be nice if there was something for us to take and we'd never have to worry again about what'd happen if we got bit by one of those things." She sighs, you think she's been having this on her mind for a while.
"That'd be great." You chuckle. "But wouldn't that be impossible? Getting one of those things to cooperate with us so we can study them?"
"Yeah.. but we could try?" She has a hopeful glimmer in her eye.
"I'd love to, we could kill off all zombies and start over." You're fantasizing about the idea. Being able to go to the mall, not worry about food or who's out to kill you.
"That's why Nanami is so adamant on this new military base, it has a huge lab for us to work in." Shoko pulls out the blueprints from her backpack to show you.
"That is my dream lab." You say, your mouth agape from all the technology inside. "Do you have any hope for the radio tower?" You question.
"Not really to be honest." Her hand finds her forehead and rubs hard. "But Nanami thinks so. He just wants to make sure there's no other better living space for us out there."
"I hope we get at least something." You say and she nods, you leave her be to continue reading. You're starting to feel a little hopeful.
The boys returned shortly, the younger ones immediately fell asleep along with the girls. Nanami took first watch, but you're tossing and turning in your makeshift bed.
You feel a poke on your back and already know who it is, you turn back around and face the white haired male and hum.
"I'm sorry you had to interfere earlier." He whispers, making sure not to wake up his students.
"It's okay. If I had it my way, we would've gone after them." You say. "I shot one."
"Uh huh," he pinches your cheek, "good job." You could feel his wide smile in the dark. "But Nanami was right, too. And I hate how upset I got.. it worried me that anybody could've gotten hurt." He now is looking up at the ceiling.
"I understand. I think you're valid for how you felt and so was Nanami." You answer back.
"We need to get rid of them before they hurt us." His jaw clenches, "I know Geto and he's not gonna stop."
"You really hate him." You say, more as a statement.
"More than anything. He changed. We used to be best friends, believe it or not."
"Really?" You say surprised. "Megumi said he got expelled so I just figured he was trouble from the start."
He scoffs, "Oh not at all. He used to keep me in line."
"Yeah I figured you were a bad student." You deadpan and he pinches you.
"He got into it with this girl and she put so many ideas into his head and did a whole 180." Satoru shook his head. "But it's still his fault for what he did."
"What'd he do?" You hesitated to even ask.
Satoru's breathing hitches and then continues, "He.. volunteered to go do some handyman work at this village, cause we needed community service," he begins, "but then he shot up the entire village and murdered everyone then ran away."
"Oh my god." You sit up, suddenly nauseous, you find your water bottle and take a small sip. "That's awful. I'm so sorry."
"Police couldn't find him. But he reached out to Shoko and I met up with them and.." he stops.
"It's okay, Satoru. You don't have to tell me." You place your hand on his arm.
"I asked him why he did what he did and he started saying all this bullshit, but I didn't turn him in. I let him go and I regret that everyday." He finishes.
"It was hard on you, you two were best friends. Don't blame yourself for what you didn't do."
"Now he never leaves us alone, and I'm putting you in danger too." He wipes his eyes.
"We'll get rid of him. I promise." You say firmly. Satoru looks down and you feel your hand getting wet. He tries to pull away from you, but you refuse and force him to look at you. "You're allowed to cry, Satoru. That doesn't make you weak." After you finished your sentence he pulls you in for a hug.
You allow him to cry quietly into you, you had never seen this side of him before. Satoru can't wrap his head around why he feels safe enough to cry in front of you. He had never cried in front of Geto, he had never cried in front of anyone.
He hugs you tighter and then lets go, his head finding itself in your lap, he hugs your legs and he tries to get his breathing back to normal.
"It's okay, Satoru." You whisper to him and run your fingers through his hair to calm him. "Let it out." You encourage.
He had been building up all of his stressors, never once letting himself cry even when he was by himself since the apocalypse had begun, but now it had been too much to hold in. He feels safe with you and it terrifies him.
A few more minutes go by and he deems himself better, he lifts his head and wipes the excess tears on you, "Sorry—" he begins to apologize but you stop him.
"Never apologize for how you're feeling. Ever." You sternly say to him and he quietly nods, blowing his nose in a napkin you found.
"Thank you. I think I needed that." He admits and sits close to you.
"No more bottling your emotions. You let them out whenever you want. You're not weak to me." You say.
His head falls onto your shoulder and he listens to your breathing. He's in trouble with how strongly he feels about you. You're what he thinks about before bed and you're back in there when he wakes up.
'It's a small crush, Satoru.' He keeps telling himself, but he knows it'll become more than that. He's never felt this way about somebody before.
"You tired?" His voice sounds raspy.
"A little." You nod. Satoru faces you as he laid down, his eyes were closed, he was so close to you that you could see his features briefly. He didn't reply back to you, but you recognized his steady breathing. He was asleep.
You push back a few hairs that had been tickling his nose, he was very handsome, no denying that. 'You can't be feeling like this.' You remind yourself.

It was normal for third-years to be captains, but not necessarily in your case. You had been a captain since your first-year. Your coach had different rules, and everybody voted on a captain regardless of year status. Leading to you becoming a leader from your first year on the team.
Surprisingly, the girls and boys teams were kept separate often. The only one you were semi-close to was Nobuyuki Kai, only because you two were in the same class.
You had suggested numerous times for practice matches or jointed practices, but had consistently been turned down by the other captains and the boys' head coach.
Budgeting, costs and other important factors were assessed during the meeting. It was finally time for your yearly begging of having the two teams be closer.
"What could we benefit from playing with you guys?" Coach Nekomata crosses his arms in his seat.
"We've won the spring national tournament for the past two years." Your coach says curtly. “We’d be great practice.”
He ponders. "You've been at this since you were a little first-year, Y/n." Nekomata chuckles and turns in his chair to face you. "I like your determination. Why not? Let's do it."
"Really?" Your mouth is agape.
"Mhm." He agrees. "We'll plan at least one practice match every week."
"Thank you!" You bow to him and the new captain sitting next to him.
"You won't regret it, coach." Mori, your coach gives him a wide smile.
"We won't go easy on you." The new captain exits along with you.
"Better not." You smile back. "I'm Y/n L/n, I'm sorry I never got to formally meet you in there."
"It's all good. Kuroo Tetsurou." He says back. "New year already, huh?"
"Last one, too." You smile softly, "You think you'll get many new players trying out?"
He thinks for a moment, "Probably not, you?"
"We always have a big turnout, but most of the unserious players quit after the first day. I think we’ll get 3-4 new first-years.” You answer.
"I'm really excited for the training camp, you're assisting right?" He continues the small talk.
"Yeah I will, don't you remember me assisting the last couple of years?" You raise an eyebrow.
He laughs softly, "I do. Just wanted to make sure." He shrugs his broad shoulders. "Well anyway, I've gotta do some supply checks, I'll see you later." He waves and you give a small one back.
The spring wind softly blew, giving a nice breeze to the warm sun. First day of school and volleyball was tomorrow, you’re both excited and a little sad. This would be your last year before going to university.
You began to walk home, putting in your headphones to listen to music to past time. The music stopped, indicating you were getting a call. Confused, you look at your screen and see Himari, your best friend and teammate.
“Hello?” You pick up.
“Hey, you busy?” She asks out of breath.
“No, I’m just coming back from the captains meeting.” You say.
“I forgot that was today, how’d it go?” She questions and hears you sigh, “You know what, come to my house. We can bake some cookies and talk about it.”
A small smile formed on your lips, you had good news, but you wanted to act upset so you could tell her in person. “I’m heading over, you need me to pick up anything at the store?”
“I don’t think so, my mom just went grocery shopping.” She says.
“Alright, I’m 5 minutes away.” You say and hang up, you quickly text your parents that you’d be going over to Himari’s for a little.
She lived next door to you, making you grow up with each other. Your mom had put you into volleyball from a young age and when Himari moved in, you asked her to play and she too, fell in love with the sport.
You don’t even knock anymore, that’s how close your families are. You let yourself in and see Himari sitting at her kitchen counter.
“Where’s your mom?” You say, wanting to greet her.
“She’s on a date!” Himari smiles widely. Her mother was divorced and ended up raising Himari herself.
“Please tell me it’s with the guy from the farmers market.” You ask and she nods furiously, making you both squeal. “Good for her. I hope it goes well.”
“Same here.” She agrees. “Now, tell me all about the meeting.” She pulls out a mixing bowl, already having the ingredients out.
You walk over to the sink to wash your hands, “You know how it always goes. Budgeting, storage, and whatnot.”
“So boring.” She rolls her eyes and eats a chocolate chip, “Did you ask coach Nekomata about joint practices or matches?”
“I did.” You say and stay quiet. “He said yes!”
She screams in excitement, “No way. Really?”
“Yes way. He said he liked my determination and would schedule a practice match every week!” You two hug and pull away.
“I’m so glad. We could definitely beat them.” She rolls her eyes.
“I know.” You smile. “I can’t wait to tell the rest of the team.”
“Speaking of, has coach gave you the practice plan?” She gulps.
“No.” You say with wide eyes. “It’ll probably be bad. She does it so she can weed out the weak ones.”
Himari grabs a cookie from the pan, “Lets toast, for the next two weeks of absolute hell.” You grab a cookie and touch it against hers giggling.
“It’s getting late.” You say, having to be up early after weeks of waking up late. “I’ll see you tomorrow!” You wave and jog to your house.
You greet your parents and quickly head off to your room to make sure you have everything for tomorrow. You have butterflies in your stomach as you lay in bed, forcing your eyes shut.

You packed as much as you could in your backpack, it was hard finding the balance between clothes and medical supplies; you never know what could happen.
Satoru somehow always finds a way to be near you, right now is no different. "Which ones should I bring?" He smiles happily, showing you two parts of socks, both having the most crazy and ugly patterns you've seen.
"Don't you think those are a little out of style, Satoru?" You raise an eyebrow at his sock choices.
"Yeah? Well I could say the same for you." He eyes what you're putting in your backpack.
"Are you suggesting we go to a mall? I hear they have great deals." You laugh, "buy one get the whole store for free."
Satoru laughs loudly, throwing his head back, his white hair going everywhere. You've started to find some of his hairs on your clothes now that you've been near him for a while. Each time you do, you return it rightfully back to him.
"C'mon, we should go get our weapons." You roll your eyes, but before you left you turned back to face him slightly, "and bring the pink ones." You point to his left hand.
He shakes his head, still chuckling to himself and throwing his backpack over one shoulder. Despite you guys planning on being gone for a few weeks, Satoru suggested everyone just bring one backpack, it was safer that way in case you all had to be running.
You meet up with Itadori who seems excited about switching out his brass knuckles for a gun. "Are you still going to use your bow?" He asks you.
"Probably not. I don't see how effective it would be, bullets are faster and quicker." You answer, your back feeling empty without your arrows.
"It would be quieter though. None of the guns here have silencers." He tells you. You only shrug, but still opt to use a gun.
It was still dark outside, with it being winter the sun arose later, that also meant it would be freezing outside. You zip up your third layer jacket, knowing you'd need it.
Shoko looks exhausted, she had a tendency to stay up late reading, last night was no different.
"Nobody's carrying you." Satoru points to her and she rolls her eyes.
"I'll be fine."
"You really should've gotten more rest. We aren't stopping until sundown." Nanami's deep voice echoing in the room. Shoko goes off into the kitchen, most likely to make some coffee for the go.
"Who's carrying the food?" You say, looking at everyone who's only carrying things in one backpack, knowing it'd be a lot of food to carry for everyone going.
"I have some granola bars and other small things, but if we want to eat, we'll need to hunt and cook it ourselves." Nanami says, "I suggest bringing your bow still, the guns scare the animals." You nod and make a mental note to grab if before leaving.
"Won't the fire we'd be cooking our food on bring attention?" Nobara asks.
"Not at night. Nobody in their right mind is out at night." Satoru answers for Nanami, wrapping a scarf around Megumi for warmth, knowing his face gets cold easily.
Everybody had chosen their guns, and were waiting at the basement door, you had quickly gone back and grabbed your bow and arrows.
"How're we gonna get let back in?" Itadori asks Maki.
"This door leads underground, We can get back in through there." She says, putting on her gloves, mentally preparing herself for the cold to hit her.
"Where is it," Megumi says, slightly muffled by his scarf.
"A little into the woods." Inumaki signs, he pauses before saying anything else, but ultimately signals he's done.
"Good enough for me." You smile and join back in, you had been practicing signing with Satoru and Inumaki while you were healing. You were getting a lot more comfortable. "Ready." You say.
Satoru leads the group, you falling somewhere in the middle to protect the younger ones, Nanami found himself in the back. It was a narrow hallway after the stairs.
You were a little claustrophobic, but this wasn't too bad, you still had a little room put your arms halfway out, but nobody could walk side by side down there.
It was cold already, your breath could be seen and you weren't even outside yet. You prayed to whoever was above that this would be a safe trip with no casualties.
Satoru signaled to stop as he opened up the door above, it took a little strength because it had been frozen, but that was no issue for him. He went up first and Megumi following after him.
After everyone was out, Nanami shut the door, making a mental note of where the door was when you'd all return. Everybody took out their flashlights, the sun was peeking on the horizon, but it'd still be awhile before you'd all be able to see.
You scoped the area around, making sure no zombies were close. Your gun was over your shoulder, but you had never shot one before. Nanami gave you the basic rundown.
The single file line that was underground had dismembered, you found yourself walking with the second-years, Nanami and Shoko leading the way and Satoru with his students.
You all kept conversations at a low volume, you were very tense. Every noise caused you to look in that direction despite nothing being there when you had looked prior.
At some point, Satoru and you had ended up behind the second and first years, time went by much faster after the sun came up, it was warming, but not enough.
"You scared?" Satoru asks.
"Not really." You answer, putting your flashlight away, calmer too now that you could see around you.
"That's good." He says, copying you and turning his flashlight off.
"I am starting to get hungry, though." You rub your stomach.
"Same here, you take a bite out of me and I'll take a bite out of you." He jokes, you roll your eyes at him and call him stupid. "I know Nanami said we would only stop to sleep, but he'd let us take a break after a while."
"Good, I know our legs will be needing it." You chuckle.
Nothing interesting had happened for the last 4 hours, occasionally you'd run into a zombie and Nanami would get rid of it then keep walking. The cold wasn't bothering anybody no more, who knew walking for hours would make you sweat.
"Let's go for another 4 hours and see how we feel." Nanami tells the entire group, Satoru extends his hand towards you to help you up and you gladly take it.
After the four hours the sun was setting, Nanami led the way to the first checkpoint to get settled into for the night.
You're unsure on how they found this place, but you're not complaining. It's in the middle of the woods, surrounded by trees which oddly makes you feel safe.
It was a little dusty inside, but everything was intact. The second years were tasked with setting up the beds and the first years did some light cleaning.
"You've got an hour or so of daylight to catch anything." Shoko tells you as she hands you a small map of the area.
"Any preferences?" You chuckle and wink at her, "You comin' Satoru?" You yell behind you.
You hear rushed footsteps and see the white haired boy, now wearing a beanie. "Aww, how cute." You pinch his cheek really hard making him frown.
"Can I shoot one?" Satoru asks as he opens the door for you both.
"Be safe." Nanami waves you two off.
"Absolutely not. You'll shoot me." You joke.
"How'd you know my plan?" He bumps into you. Your head shakes and you sigh at him. "Let's try this way." He points to your left and you both walk in that direction. "How're you feeling?"
"I feel alright, not too bad. And you?"
"Just cold." He shivers.
"You didn't have to come with me, I could've gotten Nanami or Shoko." You say, ducking under a tree branch.
"I'm offended." He says loudly and you hit him to remind him that he's scaring off the animals. "I'm better than any of them, so I figured you'd want the best."
"Cocky much?" You roll your eyes, "didn't I save the 'oh so strong one'."
"I wasn't armed." He side eyes you. "Plus I know you enjoy being around me."
"Mhm. And what gave you that idea?" You scrunch your nose.
"You're always near me."
"You follow me everywhere I go." You deadpan and he thinks for a moment, but ultimately changes the subject.
He extends his strong arm, making you huff as you run into it, he puts his finger to his lips, eyeing what's in front of him.
A fox was half behind a tree, it hadn't seen you both yet so you quickly crouch down and pull his tall self with you. Quietly you remove an arrow from your back, letting your bow fall slowly into your hands.
It was eating something it had killed, all of its attention was on it. You carefully draw your bow, slowly so it didn't make much noise, your aim was right at its head, wanting to make this quick and as painless as possible.
You let out a breath and released the arrow, the fox made a noise as it was hit and ultimately fell to the ground. Satoru was up before you were and ran as quickly as he could to finish it off.
He tied the foxes legs together to make it easier to carry. "Nice job." He praised. Then he pauses taking a good look at the fox. "What the fuck..." he whispers.
"What's wrong?" You ask worriedly.
"You hit it right in the eye." He says amazed. "You're incredible." His compliments gave you butterflies.
You took the arrow out of its eye and put it behind your back with the others. Satoru insisted on carrying the fox himself, you think he just wanted to show how strong he was. It was about 30 pounds, his guess.
Satoru tried to gloat about how he did all of the work, but nobody in their right mind believed him. Nanami was impressed, he was worried most of the animals would be dead from the zombies.
You watch from the window as Nanami chopped up some wood, you were just keeping a lookout for him in case anything happened, but Satoru had a sour look on his face.
He knew it was wrong. He quickly hid his very expressive face and stood alongside with you to see what was so interesting about Nanami.
"Oh good, now that you're keeping a lookout for him I'm gonna run to the bathroom real quick." You say and leave him.
Now he feels stupid for thinking you were just watching Nanami to see him in action. Nanami then dragged him out to help make the fire and skin the fox.
You've never had any sort of animal besides the basic ones, but fox wasn't too bad, it was bland.
"I'm still hungry." Itadori says.
"No, we have to save this." Nanami frowns.
"Please?" Itadori rubs his still growling stomach.
"I don't mind hunting, Nanami." You join in, feeling bad for Itadori.
"That's not the issue, I'm afraid that there won't be many animals left to hunt." He explains. "Go drink some water, Itadori. Fill your stomach."
Itadori sighs and does just that before getting ready for bed. Nanami kept the fire alive in the fireplace. Nobody could see smoke in the dark and especially not this far into the woods. You still suggested that somebody keep watch and he agreed.
You offered to do first watch, so you sat in the living room couch, feeling the warmth of the fire. Shoko handed you a book to read, but you had gotten some word puzzles to work on instead.
Just as you thought everyone had gone to bed, Satoru startles you as he walks into the living room with a blanket and pillow.
"What're you doing?" You frown.
"I wanted to keep you company." He smiles widely, setting his pillow up against you and lying down with his blanket, his long legs were stretched across.
"At least get some sleep." You shake your head and return to your puzzle. He mumbles something and you notice his eyes are closed. He's so exhausted, he barely sleeps every night and it catches up to him.
You hear his soft breathing, thankful that he doesn't snore like 90% of the male population. You feel yourself nodding off every once in a while, but you keep yourself busy.
Satoru had shifted in his sleep, but you paid no mind to it. Suddenly he opens his eyes and jolts awake, you're scared as he hyperventilates. You quickly make him face you and you softly tell him to breathe.
His eyes were filled with fear, this was new to you. After a few minutes he had calmed down, slumping himself onto you.
"Do you want some water?" You ask him and he silently nods. You quickly come back and hand it to him, he takes slow sips as he's still calming himself down. "Is..everything alright, Satoru?"
He nods his head, not making eye contact with you. "Yeah. Just a dream." He whispers, rubbing his eyes and feeling his cold sweat go away.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" You ask him and he immediately denies. You frown, he made you talk to him when something was wrong with you, now you are determined to get him to do the same. "What happened? Talking about it makes you feel better." You urge him.
He denies again. This time moving his head to face the wall. You take hold of his chin softly and turn him to face you, "This is my question." You demand and he shuts his eyes momentarily before talking.
"I had a bad dream." He says, almost embarrassed.
"What happened in it?" You urge him more and he shakes his head, "you can't back out of this." You say. "You made me tell you and now I expect the same."
"We all got split up and some of the students turned because of me." He says, his voice trembling a little, he told himself he was not going to cry and he was standing by it.
"That's really scary, I'm sorry Satoru. It was just a dream, nothing bad will happen to any of us." You promise. "It's okay to be upset."
"Ive been having these nightmares for a while." He admits. "Since day one of all of this."
"How often?"
"Everyday." He says. "Well—not since we've had you join us, it stopped for a little."
You nod, thinking about your next words. "I get nightmares too, it's normal. But I believe one day we'll never have them again, all of this will go back to as normal as it can get."
"That's starting to feel like this is now our new normal." He sighs.
"I know." You sink into the couch. "I don't like that you have nightmares."
"I don't like that you get panic attacks." He says.
"Nothing will happen to your students. I promise." You look into his eyes, they are half-lidded as they look down at you from the height difference.
"We'll survive." He nods.
You two were silent for a while. Satoru occasionally took sips from his water.
"Thank you." He says, "for talking to me, I do feel better."
"I told you so." You bump his shoulder lightly.
"Don't you wonder how the rest of the world is?" Satoru lays back down.
"Sometimes." You say.
"Like what are other people doing? Do they feel as hopeless as us?"
"Of course they do. I bet they have nightmares and panic attacks too." You fight the urge to play with his hair, it's really been getting long.
He hums, "You better get some sleep." He says to you.
"And what about you?"
"I won't be able to sleep after my nightmare." He sheepishly smiles and gets up from his spot to switch with you.
"Are you sure?" You say, already feeling your eyes closing as you lay on the warm pillow he left for you.
"Yes." He chuckles and throws the blanket over you, taking your seat and continuing your puzzle.
You begin to drift off, you can smell Satoru's hair off of the pillow. He smells really good. It helps you fall asleep.
Satoru notices your steady breathing and cannot resist the urge to not touch your hair. He twirls it around in his fingers for a little, not in a creepy way at all, but he finds a lot of comfort with you. He notices his heart beating a little quicker whenever he's near you.
He's really screwed now.

"Where's Shoko?" Gojo asks as the two of you walk back into the kitchen/dining area.
Before Nanami could answer, the kitchen doors swing open, revealing a girl with brown hair. "What now—oh, you must be Y/n." She smiles. "I'm Shoko, I'm so happy to have someone smart."
"Oh, thanks," you laugh, "Are you a doctor as well?" She nods and takes out a cigarette.
"I for sure would've thought that you'd quit those by now." Gojo shakes his head, assisting you in sitting.
"I will." She rolls her eyes. "Unless we figure out how to make our own." Shoko winks at you.
It's ironic, a doctor smoking. They're all about health and here she is, smoking a cigarette without a care in the world, literally.
"How do you deal with him?" She asks you, "I already like you more than Gojo."
"He's not that bad." You say and he grins at you. "Well," you begin, "he did almost get us killed the first time we met."
"He's never leaving your side now." Shoko shakes her head, "You should've seen him before all of this happened."
"He was insufferable." Nanami's deep voice chimes in.
"Hey!" Gojo frowns, "I'm not that bad."
The entire group laughs, it felt a little nice to forget about the tragedies happening outside. It's quickly ruined as you let your mind slip away from the conversation at hand.
You remember everything that you had taken for granted. Now you're sure it'll never go back to normal unless there's another planet suitable for sustaining life. Even then, there's no way of knowing if there's someone capable of building a rocket.
You're in the beginning stages of spiraling, you feel like crying and shutting out the whole world. You excuse yourself to the bathroom, everybody continues the conversation. You briefly hear them talking about getting some rest for the night as you leave.
You quickly close the bathroom door behind you, your breathes become more rapid and tears begin to fill your eyes, you don't bother in blinking them away. You think it's better to feel your emotions rather than conceal them. You manage to keep your meltdown quiet, so others wouldn't worry as they walked by.
The thought of life and how everything is gonna turn out is eating you alive, your tears fall quicker when you think about if you'll survive, you're careful when going out, but are you going to have to live your entire life killing zombies and scavenging for food?
You're overwhelmed by the amount of questions flooding your mind, but you begin to calm yourself down, firstly by your breathing. They're not as frantic as before, you remind yourself to take it day by day. 'You're not alone now.' You repeat to yourself.
You blow your nose and wash your face to cool you down, your eyes look tired as you stare at yourself in the mirror. You give yourself another minute to make it look like you weren't just having a breakdown.
As soon as you open the door you're met with Gojo, his arm freezes in mid-air as he was about to knock.
"There you are." He smiles, you force one back and quickly advert your eyes, faking a yawn. "Everyone's heading to bed, you tired?"
You nod, even though you aren't. "Are you?" You ask and clear your throat after it came out raspy.
"Not really. We don't have to keep watch either, Nanami turned on the fence and made sure all the doors were locked." He says.
"That's good." You nod.
"Let's stay up a bit," He smiles and wraps his arm around you to help. He definitely notices your eyes being red, he's seen you tired and this was not it. "I'm so glad we found my friends—"
"Gojo, I'm sorry, but I really am tired." You interrupt him, now feeling even worse than you did.
He stops you both in the hallway and forces you to take a seat next to him, "No you're not. What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I'm tired like I said." You sigh.
"Liar." He sits next to you, fiddling with his fingers, "I could tell something was up when you left."
You try again once more, "I had to use the bathroom, nothing else."
"Bullshit," He starts, "This is my question. What's wrong?" His eyes now meet yours and you avoid his blue eyes.
You clench your jaw. You felt pathetic having to tell him that you were crying because of the future, you had only known him for a few days, but your trust in him had grown exponentially due to the circumstances, and that scares you as well.
"I didn't feel good."
"About what?" He pushes.
"The future. It's scary and sometimes it overwhelms me." You shrug, resting your head on your good leg.
He stays silent for a moment, nodding to your statement. "You can talk about it to me. No more of this 'I barely know you' bullshit, we're all surviving together."
You flinch a little at his harsh words, "I was just upset, that's all. When I'm upset I cry, it feels better to let it out." Your eyes are now staring into his, "And it terrifies me that I don't know what the future will be like. Will we have enough food? Will the government save us? It's endless."
"We'll get through it. Day by day." He reassures. "You don't think I'm terrified too? I worry about keeping my students safe, my friends, and now you. The government probably doesn't even exist anymore, we're fending for ourselves, which is terrifying, but the more people you have, the easier it is."
You feel your tears begin again and look away, this time you're able to blink them away, Gojo was making it harder because he rubbed your back reassuringly.
"I already failed in keeping you safe." He sighs, "It was so stupid of me to not think about jumping it before the zombies came." His brows furrowed.
"You weren't the one climbing, I was. I got myself hurt, don't feel like you need to take responsibility for that. You've already done so much for your students." You say.
He shakes his head, his white fluffy hair falling into his eyes. "I don't know what I'd do if any of them got hurt. Any of you." He admits.
"You put a lot of pressure on yourself." You say, "I think you should depend on us sometimes too." He smiles softly at your words and gently bumps his shoulder with yours.
"Do you feel better?" He asks, noticing your sleepy face.
"Yeah. Thank you, Gojo." Your head leans back against the wall, your eyelids feel heavier with every blink.
"Satoru."
"Hm?" You say, barely keeping your eyes open.
"Call me Satoru." You nod and rest your head on his shoulder, he doesn't mind, laying his own on top of yours.
It was silent for a few minutes, Gojo listens to your breathing soften and knows you've just fallen asleep. Now that he's alone in his thoughts he thinks about a lot that you said, he wonders how a cure could be found. He knows it'd be impossible to turn zombies back into humans, but what about preventing humans from turning?
It was late enough, he hadn't slept much in days, he was really feeling the effects of it. He gently moves your head off of him and is careful when picking you up bridal style. He quietly walks into the room and sees Nanami awake, a small flashlight in his hand as he reads a book.
He gives his friend a nod as he sees his futon is already set up, he gently puts you back down, making sure your injured leg is straight and not gonna ruin the stitches. Then he places a blanket over your body, he stares at you for a long as he can before his eyes give out on him and he passes out.
Your thigh is extremely sore, the small cuts have began to scab and your stitches are swelling, but that's to be expected. You finish wrapping and stand up, the place has running water and electricity, so you enjoyed a warm shower.
You walk down to get breakfast, wondering what the plans are for today, you see everybody already eating.
"Your food might be cold." Nanami says as he slides your plate and you thank him.
"Do you want it warm?" Satoru asks.
You're a little confused, "What?"
"Your food," He says, "do you want it to be warm?"
"Um, it's okay, it's my fault it's cold—" You begin, but he takes your plate and is off to the kitchen.
"Your leg feeling better?" Shoko asks, her fork is cutting up some of her food as she slowly eats it.
"I'm very sore today, so no venturing out for me." You chuckle, you tell her in a little more detail about the stitches and how it's healing, knowing she'd understand.
Satoru comes back with your food, now steaming. He sits back down and takes a bite of your sausage, "It's a fee."
You rolled your eyes, "Thank you." The first and second years were messing around in another room, so it was just the adults at the table. Satoru really knew how to push people's buttons, you've lost count at how many times Nanami has rolled his eyes at the white haired male.
"I'm trying to be serious here with you, Gojo, but I'm about to throw you out to the zombies." Nanami threatens, he takes his map back from the man child, erasing the drawings he was making.
"You know I'd win." He grins.
"Unfortunately. I'll take you out myself then." He glares and lays the map back out on the table, you move your plate to the side so there'd be more room.
"What's this?" You ask, putting your full attention on the blonde.
"A map, duh." Satoru says obviously. You can't tell if he's trying to annoy you as well or if he really meant his statement.
"I'll help Nanami and take you out too, smartass." You deadpan. "The markings." You face Nanami.
"These are all the radio towers we've tried." He softly smiles at your response to Satoru, but it quickly goes away, you're still able to catch it though.
"Oh shit. You've really gone far." Satoru brings himself back into the conversation.
"We'd like to try this one," Shoko places her finger on the map for a moment, "But it's very dangerous there."
"Gangs?" You question and she nods.
"We'd need all the help we could get, I would've liked to leave today, but.." Nanami stops, pointing to your leg.
"You wouldn't risk going without me? I don't want to hold any of you back." You say.
"Gojo says you're valuable when fighting. I'd feel more comfortable having another set of hands and eyes." Nanami explains, "How long would it take for those to heal." He means the stitches.
"Anywhere from 2-4 weeks if I'm careful and clean the wounds often." You estimate. "Could be longer because I'm running out of antiseptic."
"What's that?" Satoru frowns.
"Rubbing alcohol, idiot." Nanami mutters the last word, but Satoru's hearing picks up it.
"Or hydrogen peroxide and iodine." Shoko adds, "For this being military, there's no infirmary."
"Where the hell are we gonna find antiseptics." Satoru rubs his forehead.
"Luck, by visiting the pharmacy's nearby." You say.
"We can do that." Nanami decides, "Anything to get you to heal quicker."
You give him a small smile and thank the group, they are all getting ready to walk around and try and find some extra resources. You are obviously staying behind, you'd only bring the group down in the condition that you're in.
"I can stay with you." Satoru offers.
"No way. I'll be fine. Nothings gonna happen here." You assure, he's bringing up a chair for you to sit in so you wouldn't have to stand while keeping watch to open and close the gate after they leave.
"They don't need me." He smiles, "Plus I know how lonely you'll be without my presence."
"If anything, she's gonna be relieved." Shoko says as she leans against the doorframe and inhales from her cigarette. Satoru frowns at her, "Besides, I need a bodyguard."
"Nanami will be there." Satoru answers.
She shakes her head, "I need all the protection I can get."
Satoru knows what she's doing, "You've survived so far."
"She doesn't need protecting," She points at you with her cigarette, "she's badass. And she saved you." She reminds.
"I wasn't armed," He defends himself, "otherwise I would've protected her." His nose is high in the air, annoyed with the conversation.
"I'll be okay, Satoru. You guys shouldn't be too long anyway." You shrug, "Now go get ready."
He pouts, really wanting to stay there with you. As he leaves he glares at Shoko and she laughs. Nanami comes up after them and explains how to turn the fence on and off, even though you wouldn't need to, and how to open and close the gate.
It was simple, not complicated at all. Shoko handed you a medical book to read knowing you'd get bored. You open the gate and the group quickly slips through, as soon as Satoru goes you push the button to shut it again.
Satoru turns to face where you're at and waves, you chuckle and wave back, not sure if he can even see you. They slowly become smaller and smaller as they continue walking.
You were advised to not move in case anything happens and they needed to be let in quickly. You weren't planning on moving either way, you want to minimize the movement to not reopen the stitches.
Occasionally you'd read a page of the book and look up and scan the area to make sure the group wasn't back yet. It quickly became tedious, you sigh and push the book to the side. You look out to the semi-open land, it was a little out of the city, but there were still occasional buildings and complexes.
Your mind is constantly worrying about food, there is a storage unit attached to the military base you're all currently staying at, but foods gonna run out quickly even with rationing.
Gardening had been a small hobby of yours when you were little, you remember planting all kinds of vegetables with your mother. You smile softly at the thought, your father would snap pictures of two then he'd join in as well.
'Gardening doesn't sound too bad', you think to yourself, but you also think that you'd all have to be permanently stationed somewhere, it'd be difficult to move plants, you didn't know too much about that.
Out of the corner of your eye you spot white hair, it was of course Satoru. The group was back, you frown as you felt like not much time had gone by. The sun was starting to go down a little, you must've been daydreaming a lot longer.
You make sure no zombies or others were following them as you push the button to open the gate, you shut it once they've all slipped through and slowly make your way back down to the main area to greet them.
"Any luck?" You ask.
"We found antiseptics." Itadori answers, wiping his nose from the cold.
"And some bandages and stuff, no luck on food though." Shoko smiles and takes off her coat.
"Let's go, I'll help you re-bandage." Satoru says, holding you again.
"First-years, you guys are in charge of dinner." Nanami says and sits down with Shoko and the second-years.
"Ramen." Nobara declares as she heads into the kitchen and the two boys follow after her.
"Anything happen out there?" You ask Satoru as he sets you down on the toilet seat.
"Nah. Not much trouble, what about here?" He says as he carefully unravels your wrapping.
You shake your head, "No, but I was thinking," You begin and he nods letting you know he's listening, "I've been worrying about the food and how quickly we're gonna go through it, if we can find some crops or seeds anywhere I can replant them."
"Not bad," He smiles widely, "I don't think we'll be staying here permanently though."
"I know. I'd also like to have a lab to work with Shoko in, you know maybe find out some more things about the zombies." You say, "A military base would be the best for us, it's secure."
"I agree," he sighs, "I'm not sure how long we'll stay here." His hands are careful as he dumps the liquid over your thigh. You're starting to get used to the burning.
"Has Nanami had any luck radioing?" You do some breathing to help get your mind off of the sting.
Satoru shakes his head, "I don't think we will, but it's worth a shot."
You watch him clean up the liquid, his hands are still freezing as ever, but he's starting to get the hang of bandaging.
"Let's get you all better, starting with no walking." Satoru picks you up carefully just how he did the night before.
"Woah—" Your eyes widen, "I can walk—"
"Nuh uh, we want you healed as quickly as possible." He says.
"You'll get tired of carrying me." You answer back.
"I'm strong." He winks at you and then looks ahead.
"What if I have to go to the bathroom." You deadpan.
"Looks like I'm going too." He smiles widely. "Kidding, I'll wait outside." He rolls his eyes.
The next few weeks go by excruciating slow, you felt terrible about getting injured, but it couldn't be helped now. Everyone was so helpful and kind during your healing process.
You had gotten closer to the second-years, all of them have been great. Maki was still a little unsure about you, but at least she was kinder now.
Satoru though, in just a few short weeks you had developed a small little crush. He had a way with words and was much more comfortable with you now. You know it'll go away, you've just been deprived of human interaction. That's what you keep telling yourself.
But in the meantime, it was fun to have one despite the circumstances. He was there for you for your whole recovery, anything you mentioned he got it done.
"You want to watch?" You ask confusingly to Satoru.
"Yeah!" He excitedly says. "I was forced to be your butler so I wanna see my work be payed off."
"You offered." You press your lips into a thin line and he just chuckles at your reaction. You slowly removed each stitch and Satoru watched intently. You could feel his breath on your leg from how close he was.
"We should keep this as a trophy!" He says as you plant them in his gloved hand.
"Why would I do that?" You frown, inspecting your work and seeing your wounds healed. You still put on some ointment to keep it from getting dry and itchy.
"Is this your first time having stitches?" He asks and you nod, "Well, I'd say that's a milestone."
"We're not keeping them. That's gross." You say and force him to toss them in the trash.
"Let's see that leg in action." He backs away and gasps dramatically as you stand, "Good as new! All thanks to me." He stands proudly.
You roll your eyes at the man and walk past him, it felt good to stand and walk on your own. You still have to be careful since the area is still a little tender. Everybody was sat near the kitchen, all eyes turned to you and smiles were plastered on every face as they realized.
"You're good as new!" Itadori gives you his famous smile.
"Glad to have you back, these losers need a bodyguard." Nobara says and both boys glare at her.
"We should start planning." Nanami says as you sit down, he notices Satoru walk into the room and frown when he sees his students already taking a seat next to you. Nanami eyes the spot next to him and Satoru grumbles.
"It'll take us about three weeks to get there and back." Shoko says, pulling out a small notebook and pencil to write things down.
You feel someone bang on the table twice, all of your attention goes to Inumaki as he signs, "What about the cars?"
Nanami sighs, "It'll bring too much attention. I don't want any trouble." He signs back.
Inumaki thinks for a moment, "I think it'll make us look scarier and less approachable."
"I agree." Panda signs.
"Maybe next time, we have to be strategic with our risks." Satoru joins in and Inumaki slumps in his seat, not wanting to walk for weeks.
"We have our rest stops, remember?" Maki says to help ease the pain of walking for long periods of time.
"And what if the tower doesn't work?" You say, Satoru interprets for Inumaki since you're still learning to sign.
"At least we'll know." Nanami eyes the map, "I know there's a huge military base near the coast. I used to drive by it sometimes."
"It's far from where we are and if we get there and find out it's taken, we'd have nowhere to go." Shoko adds.
"Alright, so when do we leave." You say.
"Tomorrow." Satoru declares.

Anyone who met Gojo Satoru for the first time had a visceral reaction to him.
Either they found him loud, obnoxious and annoying (both Shoko and Suguru described that as their first impressions of him), or they were starstruck by him. After all, he was Gojo Satoru. The wielder of the most powerful cursed technique in the Jujutsu world at present. The brilliant Six Eyes. And even at such a young age he showed potential that made the higher ups nervous.
And he was easy on the eyes too. Tall, lean, porcelain pale skin, hair like snow and eyes brighter than the blue skies. It was in the way he carried himself, shoulders set back, chin held high, imposing and demanding that all eyes met him. Girls were endlessly obsessed with him, with the idea of him. And he ate that shit up.
You however, would argue that you didn’t have any impression of him at all. He was just there. Okay, that was Gojo Satoru. Cool. Time to just shrug and walk away. He wasn’t exactly someone you had to interact with daily. He was a year older, in a different class. He had friends of his own. And he was quite literally famous. Why would he bother with you?
What you didn’t know about Gojo Satoru was that he didn’t need any reason to be obnoxious. He just was. Seeing someone indifferent to his existence lit a fire in him, and he was adamant on making sure you noticed him. One way or the other.
“So it doesn’t matter to you if I’m cursing you out? As long as I’m paying attention to you?”
You eyed him, watching as he leaned back on the two back legs of the chair he was sitting in until it teetered dangerously. The action kind of put you on edge but you would be damned if you let him know that it bothered you. Mostly because if he knew then he would never stop doing it.
He snapped his fingers and grinned in the affirmative.
“All press is good press.”
You gave him an incredulous look. “What does that even mean?”
“I don’t know, it sounds cool.”
You rolled your eyes and turned back to your textbook. A bout of silence fell on you for a few brief moments, before Satoru felt the urge to ruin it again.
“You’re not gonna fail.”
You didn’t look up. “Thanks?”
“So stop studying.”
You sighed, still not looking at him. You flipped a page. A hand grabbed at your open book, shutting it with a soft thud. You finally turned to glare at the boy. Over the curve of his shades, his eyes were as blue as ever. He grinned wide.
“There she is. Hey, pretty girl.”
Another thing about him, he flirted endlessly.
Your scowl deepened, trying to will away the heat that rushed to your ears. It was annoying, almost frustrating, how easy he thought it was to get under your skin. Saying shit like this as if it didn’t mean anything. Casual. Unserious.
Your train of thought broke when he reached forward and pinched your cheek hard. You yelped and pushed him hand away, wrestling against his strength when he tried to twist closer to you. By the time Suguru and Kento walked into the classroom, he had you pinned on the desk and was messing your hair up the best he could while you called him every colorful name you could think of.
Suguru didn’t bat an eye. Kento just sighed. This was, unfortunately, normal.
You, of course, didn’t fail your exam. Surprisingly, neither did Satoru, even though you had not seen him open a book once. Practical application was one thing (Satoru excelled in that of course), but how did he manage to get the theory right? He had spent every minute of his prep days either bothering you in person, sending you endless text messages, or lounging around in your room and watching TV. The fact that he passed and was now a third year was more surprising to you than the fact that you passed. At least you studied for it.
“You just wanted me to fail so I would be held back for the year and we could be classmates.” Satoru grinned, peeling open a packet of those overly sweet jellies he loved eating. You snorted, turning over in your bed and pulling your sheets up higher. It was nearly 10 in the morning, and Satoru had woken you up with the news that results were out and both of you had passed. Your body was still sluggish, eyelids heavy with exhaustion and residual sleep.
“Is that your breakfast?” You watched him lean back and shake the entire bag of jellies straight into his mouth from above. Your face twisted in disgust.
“Yup. Gotta start the day right.”
You didn’t bother to argue, shoving your face into the pillow and hoping it would suffocate you to death. You heard shuffling and then felt the mattress dip, grunting when you felt something heavy fall over your back.
“So what do you wanna do today?”
You let out a pained sigh, not bothering to turn and look at him, or his legs that were likely draped over you.
“I was planning to sleep in but I guess I can’t do that anymore.” Your tone was dry.
“Damn right. Let's go to the city.”
“Can’t you go bother Getou-san?”
“He isn’t as fun.”
You turned your head to look at him, just in time to see him pull apart a chocolate bar. Your eyes widened in horror.
“No!” You shoved him hard and he toppled off the bed with a loud ‘oof’, until all you could see was his legs hanging in the air.
“What the fuck?” His tone was more baffled than it was pained. You saw his messy head of hair pop up over the edge of the bed, his eyes wide, glasses nowhere to be seen.
“You’ll get chocolate on my sheets!”
“So you pushed me off?” Before he could pull himself back up, you rushed forward, trying to keep him down, slipping off the edge and falling right on top of him. You grabbed the hand with the chocolate, prying it from his fingers. You placed it carefully on your side table, finally sighing and leaning back, looking down at the boy before you. Or more accurately, under you.
Satoru was wearing a huge, toothy grin on his face, wiggling his eyebrows. He seemed to have completely forgotten his chocolate. His hands rested on your bare thighs, fingers just shy of the hem of your shorts.
“You know what, you can keep the chocolate. I’m fine right here.”
You glared at him, standing up to walk away, but not before you dug a foot into his stomach. Satoru groaned, but still grinned, grabbing your ankle.
“You should just let things happen, baby. We’d be great together, you know?”
You didn’t let his words get to you, nor did you let your mind dwell on how soft his fingers felt around your ankle, or how his hands had felt on the bare skin of your thighs. You couldn’t think about it, because nothing Satoru did was real. He was just playing. He was a good friend who tried annoying you as much as possible. That’s it.
It didn’t matter that he whined your name whenever you ignored him, or how he would wrap his arms around you until you were curled under him, or how he would pin your arms down so you wouldn’t struggle when he laid sloppy, obnoxious kisses on your cheeks and forehead. Your couch was his permanent bed, and he claimed he was there because your TV was bigger than his. You couldn’t understand why he couldn’t just buy a TV for his room. He was loaded.
You don’t know at what point everyone started assuming you were dating, but when Shoko vocalized this perception, you felt like a bucket of ice cold water had been dumped on you.
“We are not dating. What the fuck? I can barely stand him.”
You ignored the petulant ‘hey’ that left his lips, focused on your upperclassman across the table from you. Shoko was blank-faced, giving you a look that said ‘really?’. You didn’t back down.
“We aren’t! We’re good friends, yes, but-”
A snort from beside you, and finally you turned your head to glare at him. Satoru’s lips were twisted into an amused smirk, and the sight of it annoyed you. You felt like everyone at the table- Shoko, Suguru, Kento, Haibara- were laughing at you. Your face burned in embarrassment, so you lashed out at the one man who always bore the brunt of it.
“Why are you smirking? Wipe that off your face.”
He shrugged, ignoring what you said. “I just think it’s funny that you think we aren’t dating.”
“We’re not.”
“Sure.”
You let out an exasperated sigh. “We’re not! What the fuck are you on? We’ve never even kissed!”
Just talking about this was making you squirm uncomfortably, let alone in front of all your friends.
“You were practically in my lap in the car on our way here.”
You smacked his bicep hard. “There were six of us! And it was a tight fit! And- you offered!”
He was grinning by now, leaning closer to you. “Of course I did. We’re dating.”
You blinked, shocked into silence. A few moments passed. “This is gaslighting. You’re gaslighting me.”
You heard a snort and turned your head towards Haibara, who tried to disguise it as a cough.
“Okay, if we’re not dating, explain this to me,” Satoru began, pulling your attention back to him. You tried to will your heart into beating slower.
“Would you have put your legs in Suguru’s lap?”
You sputtered, feeling your face burn as you glanced at the man in question, he looked unbothered.
“No! That’s- no.”
“Nanami? Haibara?”
You didn’t answer.
“Shoko?”
“She’s my senpai.”
“I’m your senpai too.”
You rolled your eyes. “You sure don’t act like it.”
“So what you’re saying is,” Satoru continued, ignoring your quip. His voice was jovial, slightly teasing, and you dreaded where he was going with this. “There’s some stuff you would do only with me?”
You glared at him.
“Almost like…… being exclusive?”
“We are not dating.” Your argument was beginning to sound weaker and weaker. Everyone around you was staring at you with amusement as the gears turned at your head.
“Okay.” Satoru smiled, and you almost reeled back at how soft it was.
“We’re not.”
Oh my god.
……………………..
It took three or four days later to finally get your thoughts straight enough to talk to Satoru about the….. dating incident.
You had been over analyzing everything, trying to look at every interaction between you and him from a third person’s perspective, and you realized how abnormal it really was. No normal friends interacted the way you and Satoru did. Relentless teasing, touching, hugging. The unending push and tug. Caught in the whirlwind that was Gojo Satoru, you had not noticed how close you were to him, and how dependent you were on his presence.
Maybe he was right. In some strange way, you two were a couple.
You sat with this newfound information, feeling it burn and chip away at your skin, leaving you raw and vulnerable. How were you supposed to bring this up with him? You watched the figures on the TV before you bound around, not absorbing anything that was being said, your attention only on the slowly simmering pot of water that was your brain and your thoughts. When your door swung open with a loud squeak, you finally looked up.
Satoru was humming something to himself as he lumbered in, spotting you on the couch and grinning.
“Hey, what are your dinner plans? I'm craving Korean barbecue.”
You stared at him for a bit, as he toed his shoes off and tried to struggle out of his uniform jacket. It settled in you like a soft cloud, the knowledge that there was nothing to talk about. Your heart skipped a beat, and you stood up.
“I’m going to change.” Your voice was low.
Satoru looked up, lips pursed into a confused pout that you almost thought was cute. “Why? You look great.”
You muscled past the compliment, not letting it get to you. “I’m going to put on a nice outfit. And do my hair. And you’re going to go change too. Dress fancy. It’s a date.”
Satoru watched you, mouth open like a goldfish, as you puttered through the room and to your closet. He was frozen, dumbfounded. It was a new look on him. And you discovered that you liked it very much. You feigned innocence as you turned to look back at him.
“What’s wrong? I thought we were dating?”
That seemed to break his trance, and a cheshire grin took over his face. He didn’t even bother putting his shoes back on, gathering them in his hands and bounding out the door, making you laugh at how eager he was.
Talking was overrated anyway. This way was more fun.

"Is it—um fuck, is it bad?" Itadori stands behind the bathroom door.
"What?! You idiot!" Nobara yells from inside, scrambling noises could be heard, "Of course it's bad." She lets out a string of curses towards Itadori.
"Are you gonna pass out?" He looks around frantically, "What do you want me to do?!"
"Go find me a damn tampon, stupid!"
Itadori looks frightened when he accidentally bumps into you, you were just going to see what the ruckus was about.
"Oh— Itadori, is everything okay?" You ask, grounding him as you put a hand on his arm.
"No! Nobara's gonna kill me." He says and runs a hand through his hair.
"What?" You say confusingly, your heart drops at the thought of Gojo's students possibly turning into a zombie. "Did she get bit?"
"What?— no, she's on her period and if I don't find her a tampon quick she's gonna kill me for sure." He clears up and awkwardly stands in the middle of the room.
"I might have one," you say and grab your backpack from the room, you push aside some clothes and don't have any luck. "There's no way I don't have a tampon or pad." You think to yourself. "Itadori, look through that bag." You point to one on the floor.
He picks it up and starts to go through each pocket, "Is this it?" He holds up a tampon.
"Yes," you laugh, "I think that's my last one though." He quickly hurried to Nobara. You guys were quickly running out of food, water wasn't too big of an issue because it had been raining almost every night.
"What's that about?" Gojo says as he walks into the room after bumping into Itadori.
"Nobara needed a tampon." You quickly explain, "Speaking of, we need a couple of things."
He sighs, "I know. Today would probably be a good day to do it." Gojo went back to the first-years to tell them that you'd all be going to get supplies today.
You hadn't been to this part of the city, you were way across and didn't have time to really get out and explore. You were putting in a jacket and zipping it up to keep you warm, adding your bow over your shoulder and some arrows across your back.
"Where'd you learn to shoot?" Megumi walks in to put his boots on.
"I went to a fair and learned to shoot a few arrows for fun," you start, smiling at the memory of having a summer fair, "but I didn't pick it back up until this happened."
He nods, "You're good at it. I would've thought that you'd been doing this for a while."
You thank him, "It was either this or nothing, guns were the first things to go."
"Yeah, we had some at first, but then we got raided by Geto and his gang." He says, tying his shoelace.
"I'm not familiar with that name." You sheepishly smile, "did he work at the school?"
He shook his head, "No, he was student here with Gojo, but things happened and he got expelled. Now he just terrorizes us when he can."
"He sounds like an asshole." You scrunch your face, "I appreciate you telling me, Megumi." He gives you a small smile and leaves the room, you follow behind him to meet the others.
Gojo carried a baseball bat with nails sticking out of it, as you all walked outside you wondered what weapons the first-years carried. You made them drop them at your place, but you didn't pay much attention to them.
The gravel crunched underneath your shoes, you cautiously looked around you. It was still cold as ever, and the nights spent in the dorms were cold as well. You're surprised none of you had gotten a sore throat or sick.
"Turn left." Gojo tells the first-years.
When you saved Gojo and his group, he was the only one not engaging in the fight, you remember him saying he wasn't armed that day which confused you.
"What's going on in that head of yours, huh?" Gojo nudges your shoulder.
"That day when I saved you," you begin and he nods for you to keep going, "you said you weren't armed..why is that?"
He chuckles, "Well—since I'm the strongest and already know how to protect myself, I was giving a lesson on combat for them," he eyes his students, "And so I told them they needed to protect me."
"You trusted them?"
"Well yeah, I'm alive, right?" He brings his attention back to you.
"I was the one who kept you alive." You raise an eyebrow and he laughs, eyeing around you all, making sure everything was clear.
You two were lagging behind the group a little, Gojo placed his hand near your lower back, "Let's keep up, yeah?" You think you've been deprived of touch because his little gesture should not be giving you full body chills.
You quickly ignore your thoughts and the two of you get closer to the group. "There's a cvs pharmacy there," you point and Gojo looks. "Is it alright if I go? I'll catch up with you guys."
He chews the inside of his lip, he's not sure about splitting up. "Take Nobara with you. We'll be there." He points to a store two buildings away.
"Thank god. I can't even handle those two idiots when I'm not on my period. That was insufferable." She says and joins you.
You laugh, "I'm usually the same way." You two walk into the pharmacy and shards of class were crunching underneath you.
You motion for Nobara to stop and listen. It was dead silent, but you still had an arrow ready just in case. After a minute you two roamed inside walking down the aisles and looking for anything.
"Thank you for giving me your last tampon earlier." Nobara whispers. "I forgot that I'd be starting soon and it's kinda awkward to tell Gojo cause he makes a big deal out of everything."
"You're welcome." You laugh.
"Like last time I got my period he acted like I was dying and forced me to stay in bed, which only made me angrier." She furrows her brows.
"I know the feeling. Boys are a little dumb when it comes to anything to do with girls." You sigh, picking up some bandages and wraps on the shelf, putting them in your bag.
"Did you have a boyfriend before all of this?" She asks, zipping up your bag for you.
You eye her, "Why do you ask?"
She shrugs, "You're pretty, smart, and your personality has been the only one not to bother me. I figured some man would've swept you off your feet."
You chuckle, "I didn't have much time to be in a serious relationship," it was partially true, you also had high standards. "What about you, Itadori seems like a nice boy."
She gives you a disgusted look, "Have you seen how he eats? It's like he doesn't even breathe, just inhales the whole thing."
"I'll take that as a no," you laugh, "and megumi?"
"The first time I met him he only gave me his name, made it seem like he was too cool for anyone." She rolls her eyes. "Oh— do you think there's any left?" The feminine care aisle came into view.
"There better." You hold your breath and let it out immediately in disappointment. You bent down to look underneath the aisle and found one box of tampons. "We're gonna need a lot more than this."
"You're a doctor, don't you know any alternatives?" She sighs.
"I can only think of diapers." You say, "at least we got one."
"Let's check the back." She says and you follow, the door was surprisingly still intact, you listen carefully and it's still silent. She rummaged through some boxes and almost chokes on her saliva, "No way."
"What is it?" You drop an empty box and face her, "is that..ramen?"
"Yes." She almost tears up, "I've been craving this so badly." You put a hand on her shoulder and she sniffles, "damn hormones." She mutters.
You continue looking and find a few more scattered tampons, but other than that there was nothing else worth of value.
"I'm so glad we don't have to eat shitty soup from a can for a little." She says as you exit the store and the sky hurts your eyes from being in a dark room.
"So am I—" you stop and look to your left, a zombie was eating some dead animal. It hadn't noticed you, but you shush Nobara and force her to walk to the store the boys are in.
You walk back to back with her, she faces the front and you face the zombie, you had an arrow ready to shoot.
"We're here." She whispers in your ear and you both enter the store.
"Any luck?" Gojo's deep voice echoes and you cringe at the volume, "What?"
"There's one near the cvs we were in, it didn't notice us though." You say quieter and he nods.
"Ramen!" He whispers and his eyes light up.
"We got some tampons and bandages, but that was it." Nobara says and walks to the boys.
"We found a box of tampons too, and some medicine, but we don't really know what it's for." He motions for you to follow. He hands you a bottle and you choke, breaking into a coughing fit.
"That's for erectile dysfunction." You say.
He takes the bottle back, "I don't need those." And puts it where he found it. "Let me know if any of these are useful." He leaves you as he goes into the back to search for more stuff.
You take a few of the antibiotics in case of illnesses, but most of them were hair loss or cosmetic enhancements.
"Let's go a little further." Gojo says, "there's more stores we haven't hit."
This was the furthest you have ventured out ever, the buildings became less and less so you figured you were on the outside of the city. You eyed this building, you're wondering if this is the one Gojo was talking about that looked like military. You tug on his shirt and point.
"This is the farthest we've traveled," He says, "it also looks like military."
"We should check it out." Itadori suggests.
"At least the fence, see if it's on." Nobara joins.
"It wouldn't hurt." Gojo says as he walks up to the fence, he listens for a humming sound, but there was nothing. "Megumi, see if there's any lights on down there."
You step up to the fence with a stick in hand and lightly throw it on the fence. Nothing happens, "I don't think it's on." You turn to face Gojo.
"I don't see any lights." Megumi runs back, "The gate is over there." He points to the direction he came.
You all follow and come up to the gate, you're distracted as Gojo continues to inspect the fence, your eye catches a group of zombies coming towards you.
Nobara turns and sees what you're looking at, but she too spots another group of zombies coming from the other side. They're coming from all directions, you guys must've attracted their attention talking loudly about the fence.
"Find a way to get it opened." You say and draw your bow, hitting a zombie on the left in the head, Nobara pulls out a few throwing knives and begins to slow them down.
Gojo turns his head and sees the zombies, he knows you and Nobara are the only ones with long range weapons, so he continues to work on the fence with Itadori and Megumi.
"Are you running out of knives?" You say to Nobara.
"Yes." She clenches her teeth, "but I can use this, don't shoot me." She says and draws an axe.
"Hurry up, Gojo!" You say, slowing down the zombies from the left, Nobara seems to be doing well on her own on the right, but she begins to become circled by them. You worry about hitting her, she's too close to the zombies.
"You two keep working!" Itadori yells and he goes to help Nobara, he's wearing brass knuckles and fistfights  the zombies off of Nobara, he's very effective and can take them down in basically one hit. He also draws a small knife and cuts them.
"Ready? Go!" Gojo says as he and Megumi use all their strength to move the gate open.
"It's too heavy!" Megumi yells, beginning to freak out.
"Stay calm," Gojo grounds him, "None of us will die, get ready to push again." It doesn't budge, not even after the third time. Gojo thinks quickly, "Let's jump it."
"You're crazy, there's barbed wire up there." He says.
"Just don't touch it with your hands, we have enough layers on to keep us safe." Gojo says, "I'll get you and the others up and I'll follow, okay?"
Megumi nods, stepping on Gojo's hands to lift himself up on the fence, he carefully avoids the barbed wire and makes it to the other side of the fence.
"We're jumping it, hurry!" Gojo yells at the rest of you.
"Go, I'll hold them off." You say to Nobara and Itadori, they reluctantly go and get a boost from Gojo then finishing by climbing. You're almost out of arrows, the zombies seem to be multiplying by the second.
"Y/n!" Gojo yells, you shoot one last arrow and run towards him, he boosts you up and follows right behind you, you're careful to avoid touching the barbed wire, but as you go to kick your leg over, you slip and your other leg catches the wire.
You bite your lip to keep yourself from making any noise, you let out a shuddered breath, you finally make it to the other side and the zombies are banging and doing whatever they can to try and get in.
You hold your left leg while you're on the ground, Gojo notices that you're in pain and helps you up, you use him to steady yourself as you all get closer to the building.
The first-years ran ahead to find the opening to the building, "It's okay." He says to you, "We're almost there." You groan in pain, it's hard to see the damage done when your eyes are filled with tears, threatening to spill, you try your best to blink them away, but the stinging hurts so badly.
"Fuck where'd they go." Gojo says peeling his attention from you to his students, who disappeared. You manage to wipe away your tears and see Itadori's pink hair.
"There." You point, Gojo turns his head quickly to see Itadori waving for him. "We can go a little faster." You say, "I can handle it." He reluctantly picks up the pace, the pain worsens, but your adrenaline is so high that you're able to ignore it.
Megumi shuts the heavy door after you enter, locking it and catching his breath. His palms rest on his thighs as he's doubled over.
Gojo lessens his grip on you and you sit on the floor, tearing open your jeans where the wound is. "Itadori, the med supplies is in your bag." You say.
He fumbles as he sees the amount of blood on your clothes, Gojo takes the bag from him and takes a seat next to you. You open the bag and grab a bottle of rubbing alcohol, Gojo's holding a small towel, ready to help.
"I'll tell you when to apply pressure after I pour this." You say as he nods, sweat falling from his forehead. You take a deep breath and take the cap off with your teeth, using your other hand to hold onto your thigh.
The second the liquid falls and touches your skin, you let out a strangled cry. Gojo flinches, watching your face. The multiple wounds begin to foam up, after a couple more seconds you tell Gojo to pat it down.
You bite on your hand as he increases the pressure with every pat, "That's good." You say and he removes the towel, you pour the rubbing alcohol again, it foams up less this time but the pain is the same. Gojo helps you clean the blood off of you and waits for your next instruction.
"Do you need stitches?" He asks.
You examine the wounds, only three of the cuts would need a couple of stitches, "Pass me the bag." You say and Gojo hands it to you, you grab the tools necessary and begin to stitch the first wound.
"I can't watch." Nobara says and turns away. Itadori has his hands on his head, pacing back and forth.
You try your best to not think about the pain, breathing steadily helped a little. You tied off the last stitch and rubbed some ointment on the other cuts that weren't as deep.
Gojo hands you some bandage and wraps, you carefully wrap yourself up and make sure it's secure. The pain is still there, but at least it won't get any worse.
Gojo grabs some ibuprofen and hands it to you, along with some water, you take two and swallow. Your breathing finally calms. "Thank you." You weakly smile at the white-haired man.
"You're welcome." He says, "Let's get you up." You finally look around you and see that you're all in a storage unit.
"There's a ton of food here." Megumi reports, his features soften once he sees you're all bandaged up.
"Where the hell did you go?" Nobara grabs Megumi's attention, "You just left."
"I went to make sure no zombies or other people were in here." Megumi furrows his eyebrows. "I found another door, though."
Gojo insists on helping you walk, he doesn't want the stitches to reopen, you know he's right, but it feels wrong to be a burden to him.
"We could potentially stay here. There's hella food and nobody else." Itadori says.
"Let's grab some of this just in case." Nobara says and starts to stuff her bag with food.
"I told you I heard something." An unfamiliar voice says, you all freeze in your tracks. "The gate wasn't broken so I don't think there's any zombies, Inumaki."
The four of them all turn their heads quickly, you're sure you heard a few pops as they looked. You're face to face with a panda and another boy.
"What're you— Gojo?" The panda says, the group of them all reunite and hug.
"Who's she?" The other boy signs, you knew a little bit of sign language so you understood.
"This is Y/n, she's a doctor and helped us a couple days ago." Gojo smiles as he signs and talks out loud at the same time.
The two nod and introduce themselves as Panda and Inumaki. You're unsure how he's an actual Panda, but nobody thought an apocalypse would happen.
"Is it just you two?" Megumi says.
"No, we have Nanami, Maki, and Shoko." Panda says and motions for you all to follow. "Is she hurt?" He refers to you.
Gojo stands by your side and is assisting you, "We got trampled by zombies outside the fence, so we had to climb over and she got caught on the barbed wire." He explains.
"Wait, you climbed?" Panda says surprised.
"Yeah.. the fence wasn't on." Itadori chuckles.
"It's supposed to be on." Inumaki signs and glares at Panda, the two argue as you all walk further into the place.
Gojo checks up on you every couple of minutes, you assure him the painkillers are kicking in and it doesn't hurt as much, but he's still worried.
"No way." A tall blonde man says. "I can't even get away from you in an apocalypse." He scoffs, but then brings Gojo in for a short hug. "How'd you get in?"
Gojo explained everything and introduced you to the rest of the group, Maki seemed a little suspicious since you're already injured, but Gojo assured that you'd be an asset.
"You run into Geto and his gang yet?" Nanami says and takes a seat back on one of the long tables.
"He's raided us twice back at the school, luckily both times we were gone." Megumi explains, "What had you all been up to?"
"We've been traveling to different radio towers, I'm sorry we hadn't came to look for you guys. We should've gone to the school." Nanami says, his deep voice echoes in the room.
"Don't sweat it," Gojo waves his hand, "How far do you travel?"
"Sometimes for weeks, walking is no joke now." Nanami sighs, "There's army vehicles here, but I've been hesitant to use them because of the attention it brings."
"I say fuck it and we just use them. We can protect ourselves." Maki says, "there's hella guns and ammunition."
"You guys have guns?" You say, "Why haven't you used them?"
"We do when we go to radio towers, but it's risky, gangs are getting tough so we try to stay here for safety." Nanami shortly explains.
You nod, the rest of the group catches up and some plans are made for the next couple of days. You excuse yourself to clean your wounds and change your bandages.
Panda kindly shows you where the restroom is, it reminds you of a dormitory, the showers are all in the same place, separated by walls and shower curtains but you can still see everything.
The restrooms are separate, thankfully. You limp and set down your necessities. You sit on the toilet seat and begin to unravel the wrap and bandages, you're a little startled when Gojo appears in front of you.
You raise an eyebrow at him, "I'm here to help." He smiles, "how're you feeling?"
"It's alright, still hurts, but it's not infected." You hand him a new towel and he prepares for you to spill the liquid over your wounds.
You grip the counter as the stinging intensifies, Gojo blows some air on the wound, it helped, but not much. "Now." You say and he lightly applies pressure, you go for another round on the rubbing alcohol, you lightly sniff, tearing up a little from the sting.
Gojo places the towel on your thigh again, you never realized how large his hands were, you already know they're freezing.
"Can.. you teach me how to wrap?" He asks, "in case I have to for the students or something."
"Sure." You grab the bandages first and show him where to place it. You explain the cleaning processes and everything.
"Is it okay if I touch you?" He stops before grabbing hold of your thigh, you nod and he continues, you flinch a little and he retracts his hand quickly, "I'm sorry—"
"No no, it doesn't hurt." You assure, "Your hands are just freezing." He chuckles, his fluffy hair falling over his forehead, it's quite long, you wonder how it looked before the apocalypse.
He carefully wraps your thigh, he asks about 50 times if it's too tight, but it's just right. "I could so be a doctor." He cockily says.
"Yeah?" You challenge and slowly stand, you're taken back from his height and size.
He eyes you, "Yeah," giving you a wide smile, "I'm good, right? I patched you up."
"Actually, you could've worn some gloves. And maybe wash your hands—oh and—”
He brings his palm to your mouth, covering it easily. His eyes were now aligned with yours, before he could respond, there was a knock at the door.
"Um, dinners ready." Itadori says. You both awkwardly smile and he assists you in walking back. Your heart was beating quick, you're not used to proximity anymore. That's why you're feeling like this, you just have to get used to his presence.

The night passed, you getting only a few hours of sleep. Part of it was because strangers were in your space, and the amount of zombies banging to get in.
You stretched and got out of bed, your warm feet coming in contact with the cold floor assisting in waking you up.
As you stepped into the living room, you saw Gojo already awake, staring through a small crack in the boarded-up window. He turned his head, giving you a light smile.
The first-years stirred in their sleep, adjusting to the unfamiliar surroundings.
"We should be able to leave once they wake up." He stretches his limbs and makes his way to the couch, sitting on Megumi's legs, which causes him to frown in his sleep. "Staying here isn't a long term solution." He adds.
"Why not? I've snaked by." You say and sit across from the man.
"You really think you can survive the rest of your life here, by yourself?" He asks. "How will you know if there's a cure, or a base for the rest of humanity?"
You think for a moment. He was right, but the gangs were too risky and dangerous to join now. "I guess I wouldn't."
He nods, knowing he was correct. "You should come with us."
"I barely know any of you." You chuckle, "How do I know-"
"If we had bad intentions, we would've already have gone through with them." He cuts you off, "Besides, I think we could be a useful team."
You sigh, "I don't know if I can just go with a bunch of strangers."
Gojo thinks for a moment, "Okay, I have an idea. How about every day we both share something intimate. That way we get to know each other more." He proposes.
"I get to ask something?" You raise an eyebrow.
"Yes." He nods.
"You're very adamant on me joining you guys." You laugh.
"We've run into trouble with other gangs, so I kinda want to form my own group. One with plans to survive long-term and not just steal." He goes on, "And I think having you would increase our defense and you're smart so who knows what kinda medical stuff you can do."
You quietly thank him and think for a moment. "Okay, it's a deal. I'll join." He smiles widely, but not for long as Megumi kicks his side, causing him to groan.
"Get off me." He mumbles.
"You guys are loud." Itadori rubs his eyes and sits up.
"Sorry." You say, "What now?" You ask Gojo who's massaging his side.
"We pack up and leave." He stands.
"Now? Do you even have an idea of where to go?" You say, waking up the first-years, they sit up and listen.
"I want to find some of my other students.. and friends." He says. "We found a small base, it looks like military, but it's covered in barbed wire and who knows if the electric fence still works— what I'm getting at is I have no idea if it's taken already."
"So where are we gonna go while we find your friends?" You say and follow him to the kitchen.
"We'll go to the school that I teach at, that's where we've been staying. There's still some areas around here I haven't gone to look at for my friends." He says and grabs a granola bar.
"That's mine." You frown.
"It's ours now, we're teamed up now." He laughs. "Better get to packing, I want as much daylight as I can get."
You nod and head back towards your room, "I have some food in the kitchen, help yourselves." You softly smile at the students.
You couldn't believe you were leaving the solace of your home, but you knew the man was right. You have barely any idea of what's going on in the outside world.
You grab your backpack and begin filling it with clothes and other necessities you needed. You also felt a little better about this whole apocalypse now that you have others and you're not just alone.
You take one last look at your bedroom and sigh, shutting the door and walking back into the living room. The first years were all in the kitchen with their teacher.
Their heads all turn when they hear your footsteps. "You ready?" Gojo asks.
"I think so." You clutch the handle on your bag. The five of you head out, each first year and Gojo carrying a backpack as well with stuff from your place that was deemed useful.
You've briefly heard of the school Gojo taught at. You had to be either insanely intelligent to pass their exams or you'd pay your way in. It didn't surprise you that the school was beautiful.
Gojo looks around more shutting the door and boarding it up. You're all glad there were no run ins with zombies or people. The building was cold, almost cold enough to see your breath.
"Is there a fireplace anywhere?" You ask, standing awkwardly, not sure where anything was.
"No," Gojo chuckles, "Why do you think we all wear so many layers?"
You smile nervously, your apartment had a fireplace so this would be new for you. It was always risky to have it on because of the smoke from your chimney, but nothing had happened to you.
"And cuddle while we sleep." Itadori smiles widely and attempts to hug megumi, only to be pushed off.
You were smiling at the interaction, Nobara walks back into the room a little out of breath, the mood instantly changes, her face is full of worry. "I think someone broke in."
Gojo's demeanor changes, "Show me." You all followed behind him, you could feel the anger in his footsteps. Glass shards were shattered all over the floor, furniture was thrown around and some broken pieces scattered around the room.
The cold air filled the room more intensely than it did before, swaying the curtains. Gojo sighs, "Anything missing?"
Nobara shrugs and begins to look around the room, your eyes catch the floor, eyeing some muddy footsteps. You begin to follow them, two pairs of steps went towards the kitchen and another two went to the living room.
You're surprised at how you didn't see some of the cabinets flung open, food was basically nonexistent, it was all gone.
"They took some blankets and whatnot. We had all of our weapons with us when we went to your place, so we didn't lose much." Gojo informs you as, he too, followed the muddy footsteps.
"All the foods gone." You turn around, now facing his huge stature. Gojo sighs and rubs his forehead.
"I knew they'd try and get us." He says.
"You know who did it?" You're puzzled.
"I have an idea of who." He clears up, "We're gonna be eating up your food then. I was hoping to be able to ration it." The first years come back into the kitchen.
"Is it safe for us to sleep here?" Nobara brings up, "Cause I don't feel safe."
"We could have someone keep watch?" Itadori proposes.
Gojo shakes his head, "We're gonna have to sleep here, we have nowhere else to go."
"What about Y/n's place?" Megumi says, "it's warmer there too."
"We'll lose too much daylight going back, I wanted to look for Nanami and the second-years here." Gojo says, you have no idea who he's talking about, but the group of three stiffen at the mention.
"I can take first shift, do you mind taking the second?" Gojo turns to you.
"If you're all okay with it, of course." You agree, no objections were made so you nodded. Gojo cleared the place once more, making sure nobody was hiding.
"What now?" Megumi stares at Gojo, "The place is a mess."
"Are you still going out to search?" Itadori asks, rubbing his stomach as it growls.
"I can board up the openings," you offer, "It's gonna make a lot of noise so we'll attract some attention." You warn.
Gojo thinks for a moment before responding. His brows furrowed and his eyes glared at the ground. "That'll work, I don't want to risk leaving and not being able to get back in, the sound will be loud so we'll for sure be surrounded."
Nobara throws you a hammer and some nails while she carries some planks. The boys in the meantime cleaned and reorganized the place.
The last window was halfway boarded up, there were some light banging on the other side of place from the zombies, you'd have to make this quick.
"Will we have enough time to finish this one?" Nobara asks as she eyes the other boards.
"If I can hit the nails in two hits we should be okay." You grew a little worried, unsure if you'd be able to do it since all your other hits had taken 3-5 hits.
Nobara held the second to last board as you take a nail from your mouth and begin to hit it, groans from the zombies got closer and closer, making you panic internally.
"Last one." You say hitting as hard and precisely as you could, you'd manage to hit a few in just one go. Finally the board was finished, just in time as the zombies began to bang on that window.
"Nice job." Gojo smiles as he walks into the bedroom, "I warmed up some dinner for us." He motions for the two of you to follow.
"Your cleaning could use some work." Nobara eyes the kitchen and living room.
"I thought I did good." Gojo frowns, handing you a bowl of soup. Your fingers grazed his for a second, they were freezing. You wonder to yourself if they're always that cold.
Nobara begins to banter with Itadori and Megumi on their housewife skills. The sight makes Gojo and you smile. Memories from before the apocalypse filled your mind, you missed working at the hospital.
The florescent lights were your home, taking care of patients and analyzing results brought a small smile to your face. You stopped yourself from daydreaming any further so you wouldn't get too sad.
To distract yourself you looked at Gojo, his blue eyes were already looking at you, his hair is disheveled, probably from running his hands through it so much. He clears his throat and sees your bowl is empty, he takes it from your hands and his chilling fingers meet your warm ones for what felt like forever.
A huge bang catches all of your attentions, muffled groans and moans could be heard from outside. You'd never get used to that, you're glad you weren't the only one that flinched this time.
"Your stove uses propane?" You clear your throat, the first years were tasked to bring in the buckets of rainwater collected from outside to be boiled.
"Yeah, was yours not?" He asks, making sure the water was clean and placing it over the flames.
"No," You sigh, "I ate all my stuff cold and showered cold too."
He laughs, "You're in luck now, huh."
You join his laughter and agree, but worries of how you're all going to survive kept flooding your mind. It was hard enough to feed yourself and stay somewhat hydrated already, now there were 5 of you, and by the looks of it, there'll be more later.
Occasional bangs and loud noises were heard making it hard for you to sleep, the cold also wasn't helping. The five of you all slept in one room, more bodies means more heat. You layered up on clothes, but your face was still cold.
Your "bed" was situated next to Gojo's, he was on first watch so you're not really sure where he is. You turned to your side again, frustrated from not being able to sleep, you get up to see if you could look outside to calm you down.
The door stayed open so you didn't make much noise getting up, you started to become more familiar with the layout of the place, you walked into the living room, you're not entirely surprised that Gojo was there.
He gives you a soft smile and pats a spot on the couch near him, "Can't sleep?"
You shake your head, another particularly loud bang startled you, making your heart race. Gojo notices, but says nothing.
"If you're tired you can end your shift early, it's okay." You say as you calm yourself again.
He stares at the floor while he answers, "I'm alright. I don't sleep much either way."
"Ever?" You ask and he shrugs, you look at his features to see any signs of sleep deprivation, but you find none. "That's not very good for you."
"I'm okay, doc, really." He lets out a breathy chuckle. "Thank you."
You're not sure what he's thanking you for, but you close your eyes for a moment, taking in the somewhat quiet space.
"What were you thinking about earlier." His question makes your eyes open and quickly a face of confusion washes over you. "During dinner." He explains.
You remember what he's talking about, "I was thinking about work."
He nods, "Do you miss it?"
"That's two questions, we agreed on one." You laugh.
"Huh?— oh," He lets out a toothy smile, "I guess it is."
Silence washes over the two of you for a while, he began to stare out the window in the small square he didn't cover.
"I miss it a lot." You break the silence, "What about your job?"
He looks back at you again, "I miss it too, who wouldn't miss the world before this." He extends his arms in front of him. "We had issues with some of the older folk at my job, so that I don't miss."
"You're looking for your friends too?" You add.
"That's two questions," he hits you back with what you told him, "but yes, I am, and some other students as well. They're all really gifted." A small smile curves on his lips, you notice they're kind of a cherry pink color. "You looking for any friends or family?"
"I watched most of my friends die, the outbreak was pretty bad at the hospital I work at." You begin, “my family.. I’m not sure, they haven’t come to find me so I just assumed they’re.. well you know.” You finish.
He nods, “I was never close to my family anyway. I hope yours are okay.” He sheepishly smiles.
“I hope your friends and students are okay, too.”
“We’ll find them.” He says determined and gives your hand a soft squeeze.

Nothing was normal. Laws, regulations and rules were nonexistent. It had been a full two months since the first attacks. You stayed in your apartment unless you had to venture out for food and supplies.
The world was quiet, you estimated about 70% of humanity gone. You had encountered real people on your runs, a few gangs had formed and were stealing from others.
It's very risky to be all alone, you could defend yourself well, but it's nothing if the other group outnumbered you; which was every time.
You armed yourself with a bow and some knives. All the firearms were the first things raided, occasionally you'll hear shots in the distance.
The pantry in your kitchen was dwindling down on food. Your last run being weeks ago, if you're being honest the gangs scared you more than the zombies.
You slowly pulled the cardboard blocking the view inside back and looked around. You wanted to make sure there were none of those things waiting to pounce on you.
Quietly, you unlocked the door and walked outside, making sure it was safe you closed the door.
The cold air prickled your skin, with the cold coming the zombies slowed, you're absolutely terrified of being alone. The familiar intersection that you used to cross every morning for work was silent.
You could only focus on the whistle of the light wind moving your hair, cautiously looking around you as you moved forward to the corner store ahead.
The windows were shattered and the doors were damaged. You had low hopes of anything useful inside, but it wouldn't kill to check just in case.
You pulled an arrow from behind your back, ready to shoot as you walked slowly into the store. You pointed in all directions, listening carefully. The silence was enough for you to lower your bow.
The aisles were rid of everything, blood splattered randomly on the walls and ground. You softly sigh, figuring there wouldn't be much. You go down on all fours and look underneath the shelves.
There were two cans of some soup that seemed good enough to eat. You look around before putting them in your backpack quietly.
After going through all the aisles and looking underneath you scored some cereal and a few more cans of soup. You're sure these will last you maybe only a few days before you'd have to venture out again.
You walk some more to hit other stores in town. There was an unfamiliar building that had caught your attention, the sign showing it was a grocery store.
This must've been the bad part of town that you avoided before this mess. Without any other luck in the other stores you decide that this would be the last one before heading back to your apartment.
Once again, your bow was raised upon entering, the quietness easing your nerves. This store was much bigger than the last few you had been in.
You sighed as you weren't having much luck in this store.
"Nobara!" You heard a whisper-yell.
You froze in your tracks, assuming it was another run in with a gang. You grabbed an arrow, ready to shoot and run if anything happened.
The once steady heartbeat you had was gone, it was rapidly beating in your chest. You struggled to keep your breaths quiet.
"This isn't safe." You heard another voice as a group entered.
You circled around in the aisles, trying your best to quietly escape. Chills made themselves up on your arms as a huge bang came from a few aisles down.
"Gojo-sensei! We have to be quiet." The voice from earlier says loudly.
Shuffling from behind you made you quickly turn around, a zombie was making its way over to you.
"Oh shit." You hear, "There's some in here!"
You let go of the arrow and it pierced the zombies chest, making it fall down. You ran towards the entrance and bumped into a tall white-haired male, you glance at him and the two of you were now surrounded by zombies.
Without any thought, you shoot arrows at as many as you could and shuffled backwards at the same time. The man next to you got up and exited the building. Soon you were able to as well and shut what was left of the door.
You ran until you were safe, the group that was in there with you were standing in front of you.
"You almost got us killed, Nobara!" A pink-haired boy yelled at a girl.
"That wasn't my fault." She argued.
"We almost died." You scoffed at the white-haired male.
"But we didn't." He smiles, "Thanks for saving us." He extends his hand.
You push it away, "What the hell are you guys doing? Do you have anything protecting yourselves?"
"Not on me right now." He says.
You stand cautiously and hear something snap, looking behind you the stampede of zombies was now making its way towards you and the group.
"Education lesson over! Run!" The tall man says and grabs your arm to pull you with them.
You had no choice but to follow them for the meantime as you all avoided the zombies. You broke up with the group and started to run back to your place, not trusting the group.
Quick steps followed behind you, the group now standing on your porch. You draw your bow at them and they all cautiously put their arms up.
"You here to steal from me?" You angrily say, now feeling stupid for leading them to your place.
"No no! You've got it all wrong." The man says and looks behind him, the stampede coming closer.
"We're trustworthy, I swear." The pink-haired boy begs. "Let us in please, at least until they leave."
You open your door and they quickly run in, you locked the doors and put up your protective pieces to block everything out. As you turned around you drew a knife.
"Woah, chill." The man nervously chuckled, banging sounds were coming in contact with your place, you flinched. Hating the noise.
"Who are you and what do you want?" You ask.
"I'm Gojo Satoru, and these are some of my students." He turns to them, "Nobara, Itadori, and megumi."
"What do you want from me?" You ask again.
"Shelter right now." Gojo laughs. "We're not in any gangs if that's what you're worried about."
"So you don't want to steal from me?"
"Not at all." Itadori speaks.
"Put your weapons down." You demand, the three students look at their teacher and he nods. They all drop some sort of weapon.
"You know our names now, so what's yours?" Megumi says.
You hesitate to tell them, still unsure. "I don't feel comfortable telling you that."
Megumi begins to open his mouth before Gojo covers it with his large hand. "Again, thank you for what you did back there. And for letting us stay here. I promise we're not here to cause any trouble."
You slowly nod, "What school did you teach at?"
"Jujutsu high school, I have an id if you'd like to see it." You nod and he slowly reaches in his pocket to pull his wallet out, handing you the card.
You inspect it, it seemed real, his hair was slightly longer now than in the picture. You handed it back, "Thank you." You lower your knife.
"So what do you do?" Nobara speaks up, catching you off guard.
"What do you mean?" You say.
"Before all of this, what'd you do for a living." She says and takes a seat as well, the other two boys following her.
"I was beginning my residency and working at a hospital nearby." You say.
"So you're a doctor?" Itadori smiles.
"Doctor in training." You correct. It was silent for a few moments, "I'm Y/n L/n."
"It's nice to meet you." Gojo softly smiles, "Have you been alone this whole time?"
You nod, "Has it just been you four?"
"No, we had some others but we got kinda split up. We're sorta on a mission to look for them." Gojo explains.
"You know, power in numbers." Itadori adds. "We've had our fair share of run ins with gangs."
"So have I." You say. The banging became less and less, but nighttime arrived quickly. You felt bad if you kicked them out, but you weren't sure if having them stay was the smartest decision.
"I'm tired, Gojo." Nobara yawns.
"It's dark out." He peeks his head through a window. "Can't see shit."
You bounce your leg, thinking of what to do.
"I hate to ask this cause I know we just met, but would it be possible for us to stay here? Just for tonight." Gojo asks.
"We'll do anything." Itadori joins.
"You can stay." You decide. "Just leave the weapons with me, you'll get them tomorrow." You say. "The bathrooms that way," you point, "I'll get some blankets and pillows for the couch."
"Thank you." They all say.
Your couch is an L shape, but from what you were looking at the three students took up the entirety of it.
"I'll be getting settled here on the floor, do you happen to have a futon?" Gojo asks.
"No, unfortunately I don't." You sheepishly smile.
"No worries, we also understand if you lock your door. It's your place after all." Gojo says more quietly now, noticing the first years are fast asleep.
"Thank you." You say and hand him some blankets, "Don't leave before I wake up, I have your weapons with me, remember." You say and he nods.
