In my world state I know Lucanis gets to be a ripe old man before he’s finally eaten by Cafecito, his pet wyvern. But Gin? Rook’s fate is a mystery to me. I am only capable of picturing them alive and either scheming or smooching Lucanis

i don’t think it’s funny to make fun of sandal’s speech or how ‘he could easily kill everyone,’ actually. i didn’t like it when bioware did that in dao or da2, so seeing fandom in 2025 continue to make those exact same jokes doesn’t make me laugh either.

sandal is I BELIEVE the only canon autistic character in dragon age; it is explicitly in the text once they called him a savant in dao. and bioware only abandoned sandal because he was an offensive caricature of an autistic man; it had nothing to do with ‘abandoning lore,’ as i’ve seen people claim. they stopped using sandal because sandal’s portrayal has always been ableist.

i love sandal, and i mean that genuinely and wholeheartedly. he is in my top 10 da characters, easily, not as a joke or a punchline or just because of bodahn.

but this like of the character is working in spite of bioware’s writing and lack of care, not with it. and i don’t know, i’m hoping the people who say these things just haven’t made these connections? that making fun of sandal for these specific things play into ableist stereotypes? but if they potentially had brought sandal back in da4, the BEST thing they could do is actually treat him like a PERSON for 2 seconds, not as a joke or to act like he’s scary. that’s all i ever wanted for him!!!

… then again, considering in dai, all bioware did was hint that “OMG sandal is WEIRD guys he’s SOOOO WEIRD,” imply he is horribly violent AGAIN, and CONTINUE to make fun of his speech patterns, i think it’s better they didn’t even try tbh.

Matt Rhodes posted the final concept art of the Black Codex. But the most interesting thing is the notes that go with it.

The false gods decide to release the full power of the titan souls, which have become twisted with madness in their captivity. Solas tries to stop them.

Unable to stop them, Solas instead creates a Veil between the physical world and the magical. He binds the Veil to the blood of the false gods, turning them into the locks on their own prison.

Early humans discover the ruins of the elven empire. Using knowledge scavenged from the ruins, Tevinter spreads across Thedas as a crude copy of the elven empire.

From their prison in the Veil, the spirits of the titans lure power-hungry Tevinter magisters into the Fade to release them. Instead of a city of gold, they find a Black City. The first Blight is released.

So the magisters were originally lured to the Black City not by the evanuris, but by the spirits of titans?

Because this version is different from what Solas told Rook.
