I love how these scenes make you SEE that Mike also thinks he’s being left behind because he’s “different” from the rest of the crew. It's just from Will Byers' unreliable narrator perspective you can't tell what Mike REALLY feels.

THEN IT PANS TO WILL, LIKE- OKAY???

LITERALLY MIKE USING EL AS A BEARD IN S4!!! He’s trying not to change, trying not to be DIFFERENT! (different is gay btw)

OK THIS PART IS SUPER IMPORTANT!(OKAY ITS S2 PARALLEL TIME!! YAY!!)

In the season 1 clip, Mike finds out that Will died, It’s something will related, he’s dead and that means Mike will be separated From Will forever. This just proves that the season 3 scene is referring to Will. 

NOW!! Here comes the interesting part. Look at the lyrics of the song in the background of the season 1 clip! (Heroes) 

This is EXACTLY what the lyrics says EXACTLY in that clip about being separated by Will. Now, there were rumours going around hawking that Will got killed off for being queer, so that just gives the whole season one scene that has a whole different and deeper meaning. (ALSO look at how the lyrics continue!)

people may call certain things “overreaching” in analysis, but i think they forget that in cinema everything is intentional. especially in big meaningful productions like stranger things

Something I noticed editing the other day was a contrast between El when she’s battling Vecna vs. when she’s saving Max.

They focus on El right before both of those instances, from a medium close-up, where Jonathan and Mike are both holding onto her shoulders for support.

But when she’s about to save Max, there’s a shift.

Instead Mike has moved his hand to join his other hand in holding hers. But near the end, they choose to focus on this medium close-up again, as opposed to a close-up with her and Mike’s hands joining.

For some reason they wanted to make a distinction from this angle specifically, with an almost before and after element, because this shot is literally followed by El sitting beside Max, meaning it's important. They are connecting these two moments together, ie. Mike and Jonathan's hands both there to support her, and then Mike's hand missing. It's almost as if they are separating Mike from what is about to happen.

It honestly feels like they’re acknowledging the fact that El never needed this grand love confession from Mike in the first place. In order for her to even focus on saving Max in the end, she had to ignore Mike begging her to wake up and acknowledge him, hence why he was probably not included in that shot.

Call me crazy, but I don't think Will is getting Vecna'd.

I think everyone is going to be expecting it, to the point that they protect Will like crazy. I also think Henry is going to use their preoccupation with Will's safety to try and pick the rest of them off one by one. His plan is to torture Will until he breaks.

What Henry is going to want is for Will to join him again. To that end, he will target everyone Will cares about, all the while taunting him. He will tell Will how pointless it is to fight against him. He's going to win in the end, and he might consider sparing some of Will's friends if he joins him.

I stand by my prediction that Will is going to have a Luke/Palpatine temptation arc.

okay heres my list of people who would make sense dying in the last season:

Max

She’s already on life support and in a coma, it would basically be fan service to keep her alive. We could still see her sometime, and she could help El in one of those mind realm things that Vecna uses though. It would just make more sense for her to flatline instead of miraculously wake up.

Eleven

Stranger Things revolves around the upside down and Vecna, and El is also tied to the upside down and Vecna. When the upside down is gone or when Vecna dies, it makes sense for El to die too. I mean she’s not going to turn to dust, but just make her death close to Vecna’s (assuming that he’s gonna hopefully die.)

Jonathon

The entire show people have been worried about Will and if he’s alive or going to stay alive, it would be heartwrenching to see Jonathon die instead. If the entire time they weren’t focused enough on him, and weren’t prepared for him to be the one to go.

Holly

I know it would be kind of like adding a character just to kill them off considering that she’s a baby in the first four seasons, but her death would be so so so impactful on the Wheelers. It’s a character that we’ve seen often, but didn’t think much of.

Nancy

She’s been close to death so many times, and no way she can escape all of it. Either her or Holly dying would be meaningful, it would show Karen and Ted that even though they tried to raise a “perfect nuclear family,” it couldn’t save them.

i will kidnap the duffers if they decide to kill steve. of course a main character has to die in the last season, but it shouldn’t be him. for one it’s predictable, and if it’s predictable then it becomes slightly more boring and less impactful. also dustin just lost eddie in the last season, it would be literally diabolical if steve dies too
