Hey Lgbtq+ tumblr!
I have a question/ rationalization I'd like to hear your opinion on. But firstly I need need need NEED make it clear that I am not here to offend anyone. I support all Lgbtq+ rights. I think everyone here- the proud and curious ( and those who secretly surf through positive posts and liking them in their mind but not aloud *like me*) are beautiful and I mean that with all my heart. Beyond this post and, even, this month I stand with you all and hope that you all can eventually get to the point where you feel safe enough to be yourself. Now, about my question, I am genuinely curious and have been wondering about this- even about myself- for a very long time and I would just like to hear what others genuine feelings are towards this too.
I am and have always been under the assumption that being any part of the lgbtq+ was a choice. But on that note, I always thought it was a choice that people have A RIGHT TO HAVE. Just like the clothes you wear or the way you style your hair- NO ONE ELSE should be able to make that choice for you and all choices are valid!!! That's why I always felt sad/gross that people had to justify whichever sexuality they chose, their born right, as something free of will- not in your control just to safely be with the one you love. That is where I currently stand on this topic and if I'm incorrect I really want to understand why through an indepth conversation. I, again, am in no way trying to hurt or offend anyone I would just like to know if you too feel like the "it's not a choice" argument is simply to appease those who cant seem to understand why you deserve this right regardless of whether its forced on you or your decision. Thank you!
P.s.
and if you're like me, sneaking through the wonderful lgbtq+ posts low key scared to be known then please feel free to messg me privately. I would never out anyone and all I want to do is understand.
P.p.s I hope everyone is staying safe out there, as a black and curious woman, I can't say that it will get easier, but it warms me to see that people are becoming more and more aware at the systematic injustices that are occuring
